JEHOVAH JIREH The LORD our Provider This name comes from Genesis 22 Most times God REVEALS Himself to us through the Contradictions of life [ Genesis NKJV ] Now it came to pass after these things that God tested Abraham, and said to him, Abraham! And he said, Here I am. Then He said, Take now your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you. There are many Contradictions in this statement - RELATIONAL: Take your SON / Only SON / whom you LOVE... - SOCIAL: How is this going to look to my WIFE / FAMILY / FRIENDS - EMOTIONAL: The son whom you LOVE... Sometimes when God wants to show you His name and His ability to provide, He will put you in a situation that doesn t make sense. - If you love me God why am I in this situation??

6 [ Genesis NKJV ] So Abraham rose early in the morning and saddled his donkey, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son; and he split the wood for the burnt offering, and arose and went to the place of which God had told him. Then on the third day Abraham lifted his eyes and saw the place afar off. And Abraham said to his young men, Stay here with the donkey; the lad and I will go yonder and worship, and we will come back to you. 6 - Abraham is saying... - I don t know how God is going to do this... - I believe I can obey God, even when it doesn t make sense, - And God has got to come up with a way to fix it!!...we will worship and then we will come back to you. HOW DO YOU WORSHIP GOD... WHEN GOD DOESN T MAKE SENSE?? When you feel God has let you down, Disappointed you, Doesn t make Sense That s NOT THE TIME TO STAY IN BED... - If there was ever a time to worship Him... it s THEN - Cause God is UP TO SOMETHING GOOD... - God is going to reveal Himself to you POWERFULLY! - Abraham WORSHIPED God in the TEARS and the PAIN [ Genesis NKJV ] So Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering and laid it on Isaac his son; and he took the fire in his hand, and a knife, and the two of them went together. But Isaac spoke to Abraham his father and said, My father! And he said, Here I am, my son. Then he said, Look, the fire and the wood, but where is the lamb for a burnt offering? And Abraham said, My son, God will provide for Himself the lamb for a burnt offering. So the two of them went together. - The LORD must answer for Himself.. cause I DON T have a Answer Don t be afraid to say.. I don t know...

7 [ Genesis NKJV ] Then they came to the place of which God had told him. And Abraham built an altar there and placed the wood in order; and he bound Isaac his son and laid him on the altar, upon the wood. And Abraham stretched out his hand and took the knife to slay his son. But the Angel of the Lord called to him from heaven and said, Abraham, Abraham! So he said, Here I am. And He said, Do not lay your hand on the lad, or do anything to him; for now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from Me. 7 God Knows EVERYTHING... Some things God does not know EXPERIENTIALLY God hasn t experienced everything He Knows God enters in on the choice we make to Choose Him... OVER the most important things in our lives - Most of us have an ISAAC in our lives... - Something we don t want to let go of - God will test our Love for Him by calling for our Isaac God wants to experience wether we love him as much as we said we do in church... Now I know that you fear me! [ Genesis NKJV ] Then Abraham lifted his eyes and looked, and there behind him was a ram caught in a thicket by its horns. We may promise God our lives... BUT... - Many of us would have turned back when we HIT THE MOUNTAIN - When we CLIMB the Mountain / When we SHARPENED the knife

8 8 - Not until Abraham completed his obedience did He see the Ram... Abraham KNEW God would keep His promised of a NATION - God remained SILENT... UNTIL Abraham s obedience was completed!!! - God wants to Reveal Himself to you as your PROVIDER... He wants to SEE if you will commit completely [ Genesis NKJV ] And Abraham called the name of the place, The-Lord-Will-Provide; as it is said to this day, In the Mount of the Lord it shall be provided. - JEHOVAH JIREH CLOSE: JIREH: Comes foot word means to see - Because I SEE, I now make provision - Provision has VISION...to see When God SEES you choose Him, He make PROVISION for you... because He see your complete commitment to Him [ Genesis NIV ] I will surely bless you and make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as the sand on the seashore. Your descendants will take possession of the cities of their enemies

9 9 God is saying: I m ready to fulfill promise made to you at the beginning - In Genesis I m going to make you a great nation - In Genesis I m going to make you a great nation - In Genesis I m going to make you a great nation - Genesis NOW, I m going to fulfill my promise HEBREWS DON T DELAY WHAT GOD WANTS TO DO BY WAVERING IN YOUR COMMITMENT Only when Abraham fulfilled his obedience did God make His promise an OATH - Many times people say... I m waiting on God should be saying... God s waiting on me! I want to see Jehovah my Provider... come through for me and show me God s Ram of provision - Don t be a part time Christian waiting for a Full time Promise!...
