Level Lesson As Peter watched the Lord Jesus wash his friends feet, he became more and more upset. He could not understand why Jesus was doing it. He did not want his Lord to be washing his feet, as if He was a slave! Colour over the correct words which Peter said to the Lord Jesus. I washed this morning. I can do it myself. No, you will never wash my feet. Let me wash yours instead. The Lord Jesus washed His disciples feet. But He was also teaching them that He wanted their lives and actions to be clean. In our lives, we all have thoughts and actions which are unclean. Tell the Lord about them now and ask Him to make you clean. Though the Lord Jesus had acted as a slave, He was in fact, their and. Fill in the spaces from verse 4. The Lord Jesus had given His disciples a tremendous example of love and humility. Read what the Key says, and write it out. Just as He had been their servant, He wanted them to serve others. It is not easy to do this, but when we are trusting the Lord Jesus, He will help us. The Bible teaches that God should be first in our lives, others next, and ourselves last. Put the words below into the correct boxes. Others Me (Write in your own name.) God nd st rd Now that you know this truth, you will be happy if you obey it. (See verse 7.) For teacher s remarks 0

Level Lesson Lesson No. The Life of Peter - Peter denies his Lord Read Luke : -4 & 54- Key s Luke : & Please put your name here Ben had lots of friends at school. One Friday, his class was talking about what they were going to do on Sunday. I m going to my Grandma s, said one. I m going to the beach, said another. What are you doing, Ben? I ll be going to church, he said. His friends were amazed and asked if he went every week. Well, no, he replied, knowing that this wasn t true, but he was frightened of being laughed at, so he didn t tell the truth. Peter felt just like that in the Bible Reading. After the Lord Jesus had eaten supper with His disciples, He took them to the Mount of Olives. He warned Peter that soon he would say that he did not know Him. Write out the following verses. He said Put the correct verse number by each question below. Which verse tells us that Peter didn t stay close to the Lord Jesus? Which verse tells us that Peter was boastful even though the Lord Jesus had warned him? Which verse tells us that Peter sat by the fire with the enemies of the Lord Jesus?

Level Lesson Three times Peter denied his Master. Write in the boxes what he said on each occasion. A servant girl said, This man was with Him. A man said, You are also one of them. Someone said, This man definitely is one of them. He is a Galilean. Peter DENIED the Lord Jesus. This means he said he didn t know Him or follow Him. C R O SS W OR D A Crossword for you to do. Write the answers in the rooster by discovering the missing words in the paragraph below. Immediately a cock ( down). The Lord Jesus turned and (4 across) at Peter. Peter (5 across) the words of the Lord Jesus. Before the cock crows you will deny Me _ ( down) times. Peter went out and ( across) bitterly. 4 5 Poor Peter! He really did love the Lord Jesus, yet now he had let Him down. He felt terrible. 5 Why did Peter deny the Lord Jesus? Perhaps he was afraid of what the enemies of Jesus would say or do to him. It s not always easy for any of us to say we belong to the Lord Jesus. Use the Key s to fill in the spaces below. He p _ that Peter s _ would not. The Lord Jesus does the same for His followers today. For teacher s remarks 0

Level Lesson Lesson No. The Life of Peter - The Lord Jesus dies Read Mark 5: -40 Key Galatians : 0 Please put your name here At the end of the last lesson we left Peter crying. The Lord Jesus was taken to be crucified. Although this Bible Reading does not mention Peter, we know that he saw what the Lord Jesus suffered. (See Peter 5:.) What did the soldiers do with Jesus clothes? The Jews started their day at o clock in the morning, so their rd hour was our 9 o clock in the morning; their th hour was our midday ( noon). Three times are stated in the Bible Reading. Draw them on the clocks and write IN YOUR OWN WORDS what happened at each time. In capital letters, write on the notice board the charge made against Jesus. (See verse.) Neither the Jews nor the Romans could find any fault in the Lord Jesus. But even more important is the fact that in the sight of God, He was completely sinless and perfect. Years later, Peter wrote about Him, saying, He did no sin. ( Peter : ) Because of this, He (and only He) could bear our sins in His own body on the tree. ( Peter : 4)

Level Lesson How did the people react when the Lord Jesus was on the cross? Draw three straight lines to join correctly these broken sentences. v. 9 The centurion (army officer) shook their heads and insulted Him. v. The chief priests and others believed that Jesus was the Son of God. v. 9 The passersby mocked and jeered at Him. The Lord Jesus cried out with a loud voice, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani. Colour in what this means. Elijah, Elijah, come and help Me. My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me? What happened to the huge, heavy curtain in the temple? Write TRUE or FALSE beside the following sentences:- The Lord Jesus was offered a drink. The Lord Jesus came down from the cross. Three others were crucified with Him. Some women watched from a distance. Write out the Key. 4 Think carefully about the end of this verse. How personal it is! The Son of God... loved ME and gave Himself for ME. Why not trust Him now, and thank Him for His love to YOU? Someone else was thankful for the love of the Lord Jesus and wrote these words: Thank you, Jesus, thank you, Jesus, Thank you, Lord, for loving me. You went to Calvary, there You died for me, Thank you, Lord, for loving me. For teacher s remarks 0

Level Lesson 4 Lesson No. 4 The Life of Peter - Do you love Me? Read John : -7 Key John : 7 Please put your name here After the Lord Jesus had risen from the dead, the disciples went back to Galilee and returned to the work they had been doing before Jesus had called them. Who suggested that they should go fishing? Six other disciples went with him. Write down the names of two of them. The next morning, who was standing on the shore? Strange as it may seem, at this point they did not recognize Him. When He asked them if they had caught anything they said, No. What did He then tell them to do? Underline the correct answer. Try again tomorrow. / Throw your net on the right side of the boat. / Try fishing in deeper water. As soon as they obeyed His command, they had a great surprise. As their net filled with fish, they realized who was standing on the shore. Write IN YOUR OWN WORDS what Peter did as soon as he heard the words, It is the Lord! Circle the three things which they saw on the beach. (See verse 9.) How many fish were in the net? Circle the correct fish inside the net.

Level Lesson 4 Put a next to the right answers and an by the wrong answers. The net was torn. ( ) Jesus told Andrew to get the fish. ( 0) The disciples asked, Who are you? ( ) This was the third time that Jesus had appeared to His disciples, after He rose from the dead. ( 4) 4 After they had enjoyed the good breakfast to which the Lord Jesus had invited them, He spoke to Simon Peter. Fill in the missing words. Jesus: Simon, do you love Me more than these? Simon Peter replied: Jesus said: Jesus: Simon, do you love Me? Simon Peter replied: Jesus said: Jesus: Simon, do you love Me? Simon Peter replied: Jesus said: The Lord Jesus was giving Simon Peter new tasks to do. He was to teach and care for those who were followers of the Lord Jesus. Suggest a reason why the Lord Jesus may have asked Peter three times, Do you love Me? Look back to Lesson for a clue. What about you? What relationship do you have with the Lord Jesus? Even though Peter had failed the Lord Jesus, he was now forgiven, and was ready to do an important work for Him. It is true to say that Christians may still fail their Lord, but it is also right to say that He is willing to accept us again, when we are sincerely sorry for our sins.
