Lamb of YHWH: Passover Hagaddah Isaiah 53:1-12 Who has believed our message and to whom has the arm of YHWH been revealed? He grew up before him like a tender shoot, and like a root out of dry ground. He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that we should desire him. He was despised and rejected by mankind, a man of suffering, and familiar with pain. Like one from whom people hide their faces he was despised, and we held him in low esteem. Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by YHWH, stricken by him, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed. We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and YHWH has laid on him the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed and afflicted, yet he did not open his mouth; he was led like a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before its shearers is silent, so he did not open his mouth. By oppression and judgment he was taken away. Yet who of his generation protested? For he was cut off from the land of the living; for the transgression of my people he was punished. He was assigned a grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death, though he had done no violence, nor was any deceit in his mouth. Yet it was YHWH s ill to crush him and cause him to suffer, and though YHWH makes his life an offering for sin, he will see his offspring and prolong his days, and the will of YHWH will prosper in his hand. After he has suffered, he will see the light of life and be satisfied; by his knowledge my righteous servant will justify many, and he will bear their iniquities. Therefore I will give him a portion among the great, and he will divide the spoils with the strong, because he poured out his life unto death, and was numbered with the transgressors. For he bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

Lamb of YHWH: Passover Hagaddah Introduction Passover is the celebration of the how the death angel executed judgment against the nation of Egypt and passed over the homes that had the blood of a lamb on their doorposts. It is also the exact time that Messiah Y shua gave His life as a sacrifice for all mankind. Passover has been celebrated by Jewish people for thousands of years. The Bible commands all Bible believers to keep this feast in Leviticus 23. We know that the Messiah celebrated Passover. We are to follow His example and worship during this set apart time. The Passover events are traditionally remembered through a seder or memorial meal. The Seder includes dipping vegetables, singing, four cups of wine, and eating unleavened bread. Whether or not you ve ever celebrated the Biblical feast of Passover, the emotions of this time are contagious. And, the Passover message is applicable. With Passover (or Pesach in Hebrew) there is wonder, confusion, and excitement over the traditions and rituals. The Seder contains so many symbolic elements that it is easy to get lost in all the Matzah and bitter herbs, cups and questions. It is simply impossible to fully understand the full depth and meaning behind the search for leaven or counting the omer. Yet as we learn to keep Pesach, we are to be on guard to just not go through the motions. Passover should be more than just a religious ceremony. Our Passover service shouldn t be about yesteryear but about life today. We are reminded of this in the Hagaddah, the booklet containing the order of service for Passover. The Hagaddah says, in every generation each person must look upon himself as though personally among those who came out of Egypt. This teaches, that when it comes to Passover, we aren t supposed to be just observers but participants. We are not to be an audience but involved. We aren t to just hear the Passover story but apply it.

6 This year, make the effort to take Passover personal. Let this festival of Freedom make a difference in your life so you don t just learn about Pesach but experience freedom; experience salvation; experience deliverance; experience the blood covering. This Passover Hagaddah loosely follows the traditional service, as it seeks to use Scripture to focus on the risen Messiah. This booklet will guide you through the meal of remembrance. Feel free to add to and take away from this guide as you see fit. You may choose to have a teaching message, dance, music, or testimonies. Before the night of Passover, we are to search our whole household and remove all leavened items (products with yeast) from their home. This is in keeping with the Biblical command that describes the steps necessary to observe the Feast of Unleavened Bread. These commands are found in Exodus 12:19-29: "'For seven days no yeast is to be found in your houses. And whoever eats anything with yeast in it must be cut off from the community of Israel, whether he is an alien or native-born. Eat nothing made with yeast. Wherever you live, you must eat unleavened bread.'" Unleavened bread, or matzah in Hebrew, is a picture for us today. As followers of, and believers in Y shua, we should know that the Scriptures often use leaven as a symbol of sin. As it is written in the first book written to the believers in Corinth: "Your boasting is not good. Don't you know that a little yeast works through the whole batch of dough? Get rid of the old yeast that you may be a new batch without yeast-- as you really are. For Messiah, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed. Therefore let us keep the Festival, not with the old yeast, the yeast of malice and wickedness, but with bread without yeast, the bread of sincerity and truth." Here we see that Paul was encouraging believers to keep the Passover festival from a heart of holiness and devotion. It is important that we search out the leaven of sin in our lives and in doing so, we may keep the Feast of the Unleavened Bread. "A

Lamb of YHWH: Passover Hagaddah man ought to examine himself before he eats of the bread and drinks of the cup," 1 Corinthians 11:28. In keeping with the Biblical commandment our Messiah Y shua there are spiritual and physical preparations that must take place to rightly observe the meal. Then came the day of Unleavened Bread on which the Passover lamb had to be sacrificed. Y shua sent Peter and John, saying, "Go and make preparations for us to eat the Passover." "Where do you want us to prepare for it?" they asked. He replied, "As you enter the city, a man carrying a jar of water will meet you. Follow him to the house that he enters, and say to the owner of the house, 'The Teacher asks: Where is the guestroom, where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?' He will show you a large upper room, all furnished. Make preparations there." They left and found things just as Y shua had told them. So they prepared the Passover, Luke 22:7 13. Don t just rush into Passover. Prepare for this season and allow the Holy Spirit of YHWH to teach you during this time. The observance of Passover is based on requirements specified more than 3400 years ago in the Torah, the five books of Moses. The Passover Seder has varied little in essentials for many centuries. Again, the special meal for the Pesach is called the seder which means order. There is a set order for all the things done during this meal. The Seder as described in the Mishnah is much like the one practiced today in Jewish homes. Y'shua Himself observed the Pesach throughout His life on earth. Many of the prayers and blessings of the liturgy in this booklet were known to Him. As we repeat them in Hebrew we may hear sounds similar to those that were on his lips. We will actually praise the Father in phrases our Messiah Himself used. During this Seder we will first retrace the story of freedom of the Hebrew people from Egypt. Then we will discuss our freedom in Y shua.

Lamb of YHWH: Passover Hagaddah The Seder Remembrance Before we start tonight s Passover, every table should appoint its own leader for the evening, in order for the order of things to flow decently and in order. Welcome to our Passover service. Tonight we are going to remember how YHWH rescued Israel from the bondage of slavery and how Y shua our Messiah has rescued us from the bondage of sin. This is an active reminder of our personal deliverance. Tonight, please take time to reflect upon your own life and allow the elements of our meal to speak to your soul. Let us allow our senses to fully participate tonight. Take in the sights and smells, taste each ingredient, consider every word. See, hear and feel the truth of Messiah s love. We have been told that in every generation each Israelite believer must think of himself, or herself as though he or she personally, was among those who went forth from Egypt. It wasn t just our ancestors that were redeemed from suffering! We too have been set free. Where the Spirit of YHWH is there is freedom and whom the Son has set free is free indeed. Not only did YHWH lead our ancestors to freedom, He continues to lead our families to freedom, as we walk with Him in the new birth. This He does by His Word, the Torah and His Ruach/Spirit. For His Word is Spirit and life. In this generation our struggle for freedom is a continuous one, but we are never able on our own to reach that freedom. In this world we have tribulation. In this world we have One Savior, who by His death, resurrection and ascension, has delivered us from the bondage of sin and slavery. Though we continue to be in warfare with the adversary, He, Y shua HaMoshiach, has won the war for our souls, He has given us the victory and continues to lead us, who

2 trust in Him, and all those who have yielded themselves totally to Him, striving towards the prize of the high calling of Y shua HaMoshiach. This Pesach celebration is part of that walk! Tonight we celebrate the Feast of Pesach (Passover) as well as observe the first of seven days called Chag HaMatzot (The Feast of Unleavened Bread). These moadim, holy days, these fixed and appointed times, were mandated by YHWH to be observed by those who seek to walk with Him. We are gathered here tonight to fellowship with each other and with YHWH through His Spirit. As we celebrate the Passover you will notice that we have our Seder plate with various foods. This plate highlights many items that we will use to experience the Passover using our senses. We will now begin reading the Hagaddah, which means "the telling". We are called to celebrate Passover together. For Y shua said: "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. Anyone who breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven," Matthew 5: READER: Then YHWH said to Moses, "Now you will see what I will do to Pharaoh: Because of my mighty hand he will let them go; because of my mighty hand he will drive them out of his country," Exodus 6:1. ALL: "I am YHWH, and I will bring you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians. I will free you from being slaves to them, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with mighty acts of

Lamb of YHWH: Passover Hagaddah judgment. I will take you as my own people, and I will be your Elohim. Then you will know that I am YHWH your Elohim, who brought you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians," Exodus 6:6-7. The traditional blessing to start the any holy day is the shehecheyanu. This prayer thanks YHWH for sustaining us and allowing us to celebrate the goodness of Y shua. Let us say together: Baruch atah YHWH Eloheynu Melech ha-olam, sheh-hech-eey-anu, ve-kee-manu, ve- hee-gee-yahnu, laz-man ha-pesach ha-zeh. Blessed are You YHWH our Elohim King of the universe, who has given us life, sustained us and brought us to this season of Your Passover. Prayer to Start the Seder ALL: We pray, YHWH, our Father that this night your Ruach would fill this house with Your light and give us ears that can hear with understanding, wisdom and knowledge of the Holy One, and with His insight as we celebrate Pesach together, as commanded to all our generations forever. READER: These are YHWH s appointed times, the sacred assemblies you are to proclaim at their appointed times. The Passover to YHWH comes in the first month at twilight on the fourteenth day of the month the Festival of Unleavened bread to YHWH is on the fifteenth day of the same month. For seven days you must eat unleavened bread. On the first day you are to hold a sacred assembly; you are not to do any daily work. On the seventh day there is to be a sacred assembly and you are to do no daily work. Leviticus 23:4-8

4 A woman should be chosen to light the festival candles and then the blessing is shared. Blessing and Candle Lighting Even as Messiah s light entered this world by a woman, the Passover light enters our midst by a woman of YHWH s choosing. Baruch atah YHWH Eloheynu, Melech Ha Olam asher kide-eshanu b mitzvotav ve-tzivanu l hiyot ohr l goyim bidvaro, u vishmo anach-nu mad-likim ha-nerot shel Yom Tov. Blessed are you, YHWH, our Elohim, King of the universe, who has sanctified us by Your commandments and commanded us to be a light to the nations and who has set us apart by His word and in whose Name we light the festival lights. Pesach is an appointed time set by YHWH for all born again believers. In the ancient Temple the priests began the slaughter of the lambs after the Levites blew the shofar. Let us now pause and remember the gift of life of the Lamb of YHWH through the sounding of the shofar.

Lamb of YHWH: Passover Hagaddah Baruch Atah YHWH Eloheynu Melech Ha- Olam, asher kid-eshanu be-mitz-votav ve-tzivanu ahl tek-ee-yat shofar. Blessed are you YHWH our Elohim, who has set us apart by Your commandments and has commanded us regarding the blowing of the ram s horn. This will be a day for you to remember and celebrate the festival to YHWH from generation to generation; you are to celebrate it by a perpetual regulation. When your children ask you, What do you mean by this ceremony? say, It is the sacrifice of YHWH s Pesach; because YHWH passed over the houses of Israel in Egypt, when He killed the Egyptians, but spared our houses and families. The people of Israel then bowed their heads and worshipped YHWH s delivering power. Tonight we do the same! ALL: Get rid of the old chametz / leaven so that you can be a new batch of dough, because in reality you are now unleavened bread. For our Pesach Lamb, the Messiah has been sacrificed. So let us celebrate the Pesach Seder not with leftover chametz, the chametz of wickedness and evil, but with the matzah of purity and truth, 1 Corinthians 5:7-8.

6 ALL: Revelation 19:7-9, Let us rejoice and be glad. Let us give him the glory! For the time has come for the Wedding Feast of the Lamb and the bride has prepared Herself. Fine linen, bright and clear, has been given her to wear ( fine linen, means the righteous deeds of YHWH s people). The Angel said to me, Write: How blessed are those who have been invited to the Wedding Feast of the Lamb. Then he added, These are YHWH s very words. ALL: Y shua said, I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel (all 12 tribes), Mathew 10:6. And He instructed His disciples in Mathew 10:6 as he sent the twelve out, but go rather to the lost sheep of the House of Israel". Tonight this command is fulfilled, as both houses of lost and returning Israel join together as one, in the sweet and renewed bond of kingdom love! Hand & Foot Washings As Y shua Did 1 Corinthians 5:8 says, Therefore Israel, Let us keep the feast As we rest in our Messiah this special evening, let us remember His coming to the world as a Servant for us all. Who will enter the Kingdom? Those with clean hands and pure hearts, who don t make vanities the purpose of their lives, or swear oaths just to deceive. They will receive a blessing from YHWH, and justice from Elohim who saves them. Psalms 24:4-5. One tradition at Pesach, as at other festivals is the ceremony of the washing of hands. Before we do this though let us remember how Y shua humbled Himself as a Servant and at this point in the Seder, washed the feet of His disciples. He even washed the feet of the

Lamb of YHWH: Passover Hagaddah one that would betray him. Think about that. Y shua served Judas. The King of the Universe blessed this very own betrayer. May we humble ourselves in the sight of YHWH and allow Him to lift us up. Let us also follow Y shua s example of servant-hood in our own lives. Now let the male head of each table pass the water basin and towels for each disciple to wash their own hands. Husbands and wives may take a brief moment to embrace and wash each other s feet. ALL: After he had washed their feet, taken back his clothes, and returned to the table, He said to them, do you understand what I have done to you? You call me Rabbi and Master, and you are right because I am. Now, if I, Your Master and Rabbi have washed your feet, you also should wash each other s feet, John 13: READER: Now that we have prepared to eat the meal through the candle lighting and washing let us turn our attention to the cup of wine at our table. We will fill this cup four times tonight to partake in YHWH s goodness. During the Passover Seder we will drink four glasses of wine: The Cup of Sanctification, the Cup of Plagues, The Cup of Redemption and the Cup of Praise. We will say the traditional Hebrew prayer before drinking each cup. I would also like to point out that there is traditional meaning with each cup as well as Y shua's fulfillment. Sanctification The traditional understanding of this is that we are to be clean of yeast. The fulfillment of this cup is that we are to be clean of sin -- Y shua is the only way to be cleansed of our sins.

8 Wrath The traditional understanding of this cup is to recall the Plagues in Egypt. Of course we now see fulfillment that our trials and tribulations develop perseverance, humility and maturity in our walk with YHWH Redemption The traditional cup of redemption symbolizes the blood of the Passover lamb who saved the Israelites from death. Y shua is our Passover Lamb who's blood saved us from death. This cup is the cup that is most often used in in communion or the Lord s Supper. Praise Finally, we have the cup of praise. Traditionally, we use this to give thanks to YHWH for guiding the Israelites out of Egypt. Today we are to always have praise on our lips for our salvation that is given through Y shua. READER: When the hour came, Y shua and his apostles reclined at the table. And he said to them, "I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer. For I tell you, I will not eat it again until it finds fulfillment in the kingdom of Elohim." After taking the cup, he gave thanks and said, "Take this and divide it among you. For I tell you I will not drink again of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of Elohim comes," Luke 22:14-18.

Lamb of YHWH: Passover Hagaddah The First Cup THE CUP OF KINGDOM HOLINESS The first cup of wine is poured. As He began His final Kingdom Memorial Seder (modeled after Pesach), Y shua, our Messiah, said to His disciples, I have really wanted so much to celebrate this Seder with you before I die. For I tell you, it is certain that I will not celebrate it again until it is given its full meaning in the Kingdom of YHWH, Luke 22:15,16. Let us lift the first cup together and bless the Name of YHWH for the sanctity of the King s soon coming Kingdom and the holiness of this Seder. At this Pesach, we remember that You freed all Israel from slavery. May this cup of joy remind us of the freedom from sin and this world s kingdom, that you, our Father, have given us through Your Son, Y shua. ALL: Baruch Atah YHWH Eloheynu Melech ha-olam, borey prey- ha-gah-fen. Blessed are you, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who creates the fruit of the vine. Let us all drink of this, the first cup of YHWH s Pesach.

10 The First Exodus At the Passover, we remember that YHWH freed our people Israel from slavery. Deuteronomy 26:8, And YHWH brought us out from Egypt with a strong hand, a stretched out Arm, with great terror, and with signs and wonders. ALL: A long, long time ago our ancient ancestors, Avraham s descendants through Jacob were in Egypt because of a severe famine in the land of Canaan. YHWH had placed Joseph the son of Jacob in Egypt many years before, and in the course of time, he had become the second in command of all the land of Egypt. Because of him the seventy plus members of his family came down to Egypt and settled in Goshen, the rich fertile region of the Nile Delta. There, over the years, this Israelite family grew to great numbers. Joseph, Jacob, and the rest of the tribes of our people were dwelling in Mitzrayim/Egypt, and the family continued to grow. ALL: In time, a Pharaoh came along who did not know of Joseph. All he could see was the huge number of people who were becoming more numerous, or more powerful and were a threat to his kingdom. Pharaoh became afraid of our ancestors, and made them slaves. He worked them very hard, and they cried out to YHWH, and He heard them. YHWH would send a deliverer to take us out and let our people go!

Lamb of YHWH: Passover Hagaddah Today we remember that many Israelites from both houses remain in darkness. Jewish-Israel remains blind to their Messiah and non- Jewish Israel, Ephraim, remains blind to their Israelite identity and constitution found in the Torah, the loving eternal instructions of YHWH. Moshe had been reared in the house of Pharaoh, and had become a powerful regent and general. He had become more popular with the people than Pharaoh, and Pharaoh become jealous and sought to kill Moshe. Moshe fled from Egypt to Midyan. There Moshe learned more of YHWH and His ways. ALL: Then, YHWH chose him to lead the Israelites out of Egypt. YHWH spoke to Moshe through the burning bush. Moshe and Aharon went to Egypt to confront Pharaoh with YHWH s message, let my people go and in YHWH s great eternal Name. Pharaoh s heart held no kindness, or concern for the Israelites. They were his slaves and he would not let them go. YHWH sent ten plagues- eser makot to punish Egypt. Each plague was directed against each of the main gods of Egypt to prove they had no power over YHWH, or His people Israel. The Second Cup THE CUP OF YHWH S WRATH The second cup of wine is poured but do not drink it yet.

12 Pharaoh stubbornly refused to let YHWH s people go, even though His Majesty on High sent ten plagues against the land of Egypt and its people. This second cup reminds us of those terrible plagues. Let us receive the fullness of our cup as we remember each of those plagues. The Ten Plagues Dip your index finger into the cup, and drop one drop of wine on your plate, for each plague, as we recite the plagues together. LEADER AND THEN ALL: Dahm - blood Tze-far-deyah - frogs Kee-neem - lice Aah-rove - flies Deh-ver animal disease Sh-chheen skin disease Bah-rahd - hail Ar-beh - locusts Cho-shech - darkness Mah-kaht-be-chorot death of firstborn As we look to YHWH Y shua our Redeemer and Savior, let us sing the traditional song of Pesach called Dah-yay-nu. Dah-yay-nu means, It would have been sufficient.

Lamb of YHWH: Passover Hagaddah This song is an expression of thankfulness for the many gifts that Elohim has given to us. One author explains, picture a box with a beautiful bow. Open it it s a present you ve been dreaming of! Wait there s more inside: another box with a second gift. How many kindnesses you show me! you say. Inside the second gift, there s a third. This is beyond my hopes! you exclaim. Inside the third gift there s a fourth, and then a fifth a whole series of gifts. If you had just given me one gift, you say, shaking your head in disbelief, that would have been enough. But for all these gifts I say, thank you. Pesach is a time to thank Elohim for making our lives better. We are grateful for all of His gifts! Traditional Song Dah-dah-yay-nu, dah-dah-yay-nu, Dah-dah-yay-nu, dah-dah-yaynu, dah-dah-yay-nu, dah-yay-nu, dah-yay-nu! Ee-lu ho-tzi ho-tzi-anu, ho-tzi-anu me-mitz-ra-yim, Ho-tzi-anu me- Mit-zra-yim, dah-yay-nu. Ee-lu nah-tan, nah-tan la-nu, nah-tan la-nu et ha Torah,Nah-tan la-nu et ha Torah dah-yay-nu. Ee-lu nah-tan, nah-tan la-nu nah-tan la-nu et Y shua, Nah-tan la-nu et Y shua dah-yay-nu. (Had He brought us out of Mitzrayim/Egypt, it would have been enough for us.) (Had He just given us the Torah, it would have been enough for us) (Had He just given us Y shua, it would have been enough for us)

14 The Telling We were slaves to Pharaoh in Egypt, and YHWH took us out from there with a strong hand and with an outstretched Arm. If the Holy One, blessed be He, had not taken our fathers out of Egypt, then we, our children and our children's children, would have remained enslaved to Pharaoh in Egypt and Messiah could not have come to deliver us. ALL: Even if all of us were wise, all of us understanding, all of us knowing the Torah, we would still be obligated to discuss the exodus from Egypt; and everyone who discusses the exodus from Egypt at length is praiseworthy before YHWH. To review in detail how YHWH delivered His children out of bondage, we will ask: The Four Questions Choose four children to each recite a question for discussion. CHILD: Question #1: Mah-nish-tana ha-lyla hazeh, me kol ha lay-lot? She-bechol halaylot, anu och-lin chametz u-matzah. Ha-lylah ha-zeh koo-lo matzah? On all other nights we eat bread with leaven. On this night, why do we eat only unleavened bread?

Lamb of YHWH: Passover Hagaddah CHILD: Question #2: She-be-chol ha-lay-lot, anu och-lin, she-ar yer-achot. Ha-lylah hazeh mah-ror? On all other nights we eat all kinds of vegetables. On this night, why do we only eat only bitter herbs? CHILD: Question #3: She-be-chol ha-lay-lot, ayn-anu matt-beey-lin af-helu pa-ahm echat. Ha-lylah ha-zeh, sheh-tay peh-amim? On all other nights we do not even dip our vegetables once. Why on this night do we dip them twice? CHILD: Question #4: She-be-chol ha-lay-lot, anu och-lin, beyn yo-sheh-veen u-beyn meh-soo-veen. Ha-lylah ha-zeh, ko-ol-anu meh- soo-vin? On all other nights we eat sitting, or reclining. Why tonight do we eat only reclining? Answers- Question #1 - Young Child #1- On all other nights we eat bread with leaven. On this night, why do we eat only unleavened bread? Answer #1 - This is the bread of affliction, which we call matzah. It is the bread our Israelite parents had when they left Egypt in a hurry. Notice how it is pierced, bruised, and stripped. This bread also represents the sinless/unleavened body of our Savior Y shua, The TrueBread of Life, who according to Isaiah chapter 53 was

pierced, bruised, and stripped for our sins as our atonement. Again, this is the Bread of Affliction that our fathers ate in the land of Mitzrayim/Egypt. Whoever is hungry for eternal life, let them come and eat; whoever is in need of salvation, let them come and conduct the Seder of Passover, that leads all seekers to the Lamb of YHWH. This year we are here; next year in the land of Israel, if YHWH wills. This year we are slaves of the exile; next year we will be free people in the land of Israel, if YHWH wills. Yahchatz Breaking of the Middle Matzah See the three pieces of matzah on your table under the napkin. 16 These three pieces of matzah are wrapped together for Pesach. The rabbi s call these three a unity, allegedly symbolizing the three main patriarchs Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, or some say, the three tribes of Judah, Benjamin and Levi the tribes of Jewish Israel. Believers in Messiah Y shua however recognize that these three represent the Father, Son, and Ruach Hakodesh, the three primary manifestations of the one true YHWH-Elohim. We know and believe that the early Nazarene Israelites instituted this tradition. Ironically it has even found its way into every traditional/rabbinical Jewish Passover Seder, even though a majority of Jewish people still cannot see its true symbolism and message! We now will remove the middle piece of matzah/unleavened bread, which represents Y shua Himself, whose body was broken for us. Let the leader of each table break this bread now.

Lamb of YHWH: Passover Hagaddah One half of this piece is called the Afikomen. The word Afikomen is Greek and means the One that comes after, or I HAVE COME. It also means dessert. Let each table leader wrap this piece in a large linen towel, just as Messiah s physical body was wrapped for burial, to return to us later in our Seder. All the children must now cover their eyes as we hide the Afikomen. The leaders now hide the wrapped half of the middle matzah. Just as Y shua was hidden in the tomb for three days and three nights, in order to return three days later, so the Afikomen is now hidden, if only for a short time. Just as our Messiah returned from the tomb, and will soon return to us again, the Afikomen will return to complete our Pesach Seder, as our desert. Let us now share the remaining half of the broken unleavened bread. Let us follow Y shua s example. The Leader blesses the bread as he breaks it, saying: Baruch Atah YHWH Eloheynu Melech ha Olam ha- motze lechem min ha aretz. Blessed are you YHWH our Elohim, King of the Universe, who brings forth bread from the earth.

18 The table leader shares the bread with the disciples at his table. Question # 2 Young Child #2 - On all other nights we eat all kinds of vegetables. On this night why do we only eat only bitter herbs? Answer # 2 - On this night we eat only bitter herbs instead of vegetables to remind us of the bitter life of slavery that the Israelites had in Egypt. The bitter horseradish also reminds us of the bitter cup that Y shua took upon himself, dying on the tree for us, weeping over our sinful state. The table leader now spreads horseradish on each piece of bread, passes a piece to each person and recites the blessing. After the blessing all eat bitter herbs. Question # 3 - Young Child #3 - On all other nights we do not dip our vegetables even once. Why on this night do we dip them twice? Answer #3-On this night we dip parsley into the salt water (first dip), reminding us of the salty tears which the Israelites cried, while they were slaves in Egypt. The salt water also reminds us of the tears of Y shua, while He prayed in the garden, on the night He was betrayed. Each person dips a piece of parsley into the salt water and eats it. On this night we also dip the bitter herbs into the charset, a sweet mixture made of apples, nuts, and wine. This is to remind us of the clay and bricks the Israelites made to build cities for Pharaoh in Egypt. Now we will eat again the bitter herbs, except this time we will dip it into the sweet charoset, reminding us of the sweet hope we have in Y shua our Messiah, even in bitter circumstances.

Lamb of YHWH: Passover Hagaddah This is the second dip of the marror-bitter herbs, this time with sweet Charoset. Dip a piece of matzah in the bitter herbs, then dip it into the charoset, and then eat the bitter herbs and charoset as a sandwich with a large piece of matzah. Question # 4 Young Child #4 - On all other nights we eat sitting, or reclining. Why tonight do we eat only reclining (on cushions or pillows)? Answer #4-On this night we recline for our meal because we are free people. During the first exodus the people were commanded to eat this meal in a hurry. They were to have their belts fastened, their staffs in hand, and be ready to leave Egypt on a moment s notice. Just as the Israelites were freed from Pharaoh s bondage, so we are free through the blood of the Lamb. Now, knowing the full truth of our redemption, we lift up the second cup in celebration of our deliverance from the bondage of sin, plagues, darkness, wrath and death. Let us chant the Me-Cha- Mocha followed by the blessing over the second cup of wine. Traditional Song Me cha-mo-cha ba-ay-leem YHWH, me-cha-mocha neh-dar bako-desh; no-rah te-hil-lot, o-seh phe-leh, oh-seh phe-leh. Who is like you, YHWH among the Elohim? Who is like You, glorified in set-apartness? You are awesome in praise, doing wonders YHWH. Who is like You YHWH?

20 Baruch Atah YHWH, Elo-hey-nu Me-lech ha ohlam, borey pri ha-ga-fen. Blessed are you, YHWH our Elohim, King of the Universe, who creates the fruit of the vine. Drink the second cup while leaning (reclining) to the left. A Fifth Question Question # 5 She-bec-hol ha-lay-lot anu och- lin kol mee-nay basar. Ha-lylah hazeh ke-vesh. On all other nights we eat various meats. Tonight why do we eat Lamb? Answer # 5-In order to have a biblical Passover, Lamb must be eaten. Why? In memory of the Lamb of YHWH, who delivered our people by His blood in Mitzrayim and today through the eternal Lamb, Y shua our Messiah, who was slain and whose blood has been shed and applied to the doorposts of our hearts forever. ALL: We Give Thanks for the Lamb and the Feast. You shall keep it a feast to YHWH forever, Exodus 12:4. Praised be to you YHWH our Elohim, King of the Universe, who provides food for all; whose abundance, and goodness, mercy and Pesach, endures for all and forever.

Lamb of YHWH: Passover Hagaddah Shulcan Orech The Meal It is now time for the meal, the Shulchan Orech. During our meal each person should eat the lamb that has been cooked. The lamb of our Seder is symbolic of the Lamb that was sacrifice during afternoon of Pesach. The Bible states that Israel is commanded to roast and eat a lamb on this day FOREVER. All parts of this lamb were to be eaten by everyone in the family. What was not eaten was to be burned up and disposed with nothing left over. Y shua is the Lamb of YHWH slain from the foundation of the world. Like Y shua this lamb has no broken bones! Dinner Discussion While eating please keep your conversation focused on the Passover and worship. Enjoy your dinner but use this time for some meaningful conversation. Here are some questions to discuss over dinner: What does Passover mean to you? What lessons have you learned from Passover so far? How can you apply these lessons? How did you come to the knowledge of Y shua as Messiah? What is your favorite Bible verse? Why? Meal is enjoyed with fellowship and discussion.

22 The Return Many ask, "How does the Messiah, Y shua, fit into the Passover Story?" Elohim gave us many signs and prophecies about our coming Messiah. Y shua fulfilled all the prophecies foretold of the first coming of the Messiah, in the Torah, the prophets and the writings. Just as the lamb's blood protected the Israelites from death, Y shua's blood will protect us from death. READER: Micah 5:2-4, "But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient times. Therefore Israel will be abandoned until the time when she who is in labor gives birth and the rest of his brothers return to join the Israelites. He will stand and shepherd his flock in the strength of YHWH, in the majesty of the name of YHWH his Elohim. And they will live securely, for then his greatness will reach to the ends of the earth. And he will be their peace. READER: See, my servant will act wisely; he will be raised and lifted up and highly exalted. Just as there were many who were appalled at him-- his appearance was so disfigured beyond that of any man and his form marred beyond human likeness-- so will he sprinkle many nations, and kings will shut their mouths because of him. For what they were not told, they will see, and what they have not heard, they will understand. Who has believed our message and to whom has the arm of YHWH been revealed? He grew up before him like a tender shoot, and like a root out of dry ground. He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that we should desire him. He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering. Like one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he

Lamb of YHWH: Passover Hagaddah took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered him stricken by Elohim, smitten by him, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed. We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; and YHWH has laid on him the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed and afflicted, yet he did not open his mouth; he was led like a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is silent, so he did not open his mouth. By oppression and judgment he was taken away. And who can speak of his descendants? For he was cut off from the land of the living; for the transgression of my people he was stricken, Isaiah 52:13-53:8 The Dessert The children may now go and find the burial Afikomen and take it to the leader of your table for a ransom (pause for the children to find the Afikomen). In the same way, Y shua ransomed us with His return from death, to bring us back to YHWH The Father. The hidden matzah also symbolizes the return of our wounded, pierced and striped/beaten Messiah from His burial. Y shua has unwrapped His burial linen, and risen from the grave. He has ascended to His Father and is now seated as Abba s right hand, hidden from our physical view, until He returns again for the final Pesach, the Wedding Supper of the Lamb. The body of Messiah Y shua was once greatly afflicted as the Lamb of YHWH. However, when it is unwrapped by each human being personally and discovered as the true Bread of Life for all of

mankind, the matzah brings great childlike joy to all who find it with grateful hearts. When Y shua ate His last meal with His disciples, He gave them this broken matzah, or the Afikomen. They remembered the words He had spoken earlier. This will no longer solely be the bread that your fathers ate in the wilderness and also on that first Passover night. This is the Bread of My body, broken for you, to enter the Renewed Covenant of eternal life and pardon from all manner of human sin and transgression. ALL: This is My body which is given for you: This do in remembrance of Me, Luke 22:19. The table leader breaks the Afikomen, and hands a piece to each person. Wait until all have a piece and then do the blessing. The Blessing over the Body of Our Messiah Baruch Atah YHWH, Eloheynu, Melech ha olam, ha- motzi le-chem min ha-aretz. Blessed are you YHWH Our Elohim, King of the Universe, who brings forth bread from the earth. The Bread of eternal life came to us first from the heavens, then from the earth, after three days and three nights. Let us now discern and eat in remembrance of our Savior s death and broken sinless body. 24

Lamb of YHWH: Passover Hagaddah The Third Cup THE CUP OF REDEMPTION Let us fill our cup again for the third time this evening. This is the cup, after supper that Y shua identified himself with. This is the cup of Eternal Redemption, which symbolizes the blood of the Passover Lamb. This Cup of redemption will no longer only be the blood of the exodus which your fathers placed on the doorposts of their homes. But from henceforth this is the blood of the everlasting and final covenant between mankind and Me. Enter in My people, so I may enter in to you. For this is the blood, which ratifies the Renewed Covenant; My blood shed on behalf of many, so that they may have their sins forgiven, Matthew 26:28 Baruch atah YHWH Elo-hay-nu Melech ha olam borey pree ha-gafen. Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the Universe, who creates the fruit of the vine. Let us gratefully drink together the precious blood, symbolic of remission of all our sin. Y shua is calling His chosen people today: Here I am standing at the door and knocking. If someone hears My voice and opens the

26 door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he will eat with Me, Revelation 3:20. The Fourth Cup THE CUP OF HALLEL-PRAISE Let us fill our cup for the fourth and last time tonight and give praise to YHWH our Redeemer. As seen at your table, there remains an empty spot, a cup and setting for Elijah the prophet. We now turn our attention to the front door and ask a little child to open it and to be a watchman to see if he or she can see Elijah s coming. For we know full well that if Eliyahu is spotted, that Y shua Son of David, the Son of Elohim is with him. As it is written in Malachi 4:5-6, Behold I send you Eliyahu Ha-Navi before the great and dreadful Day of YHWH. May Elijah s spirit that lived in John the Immerser, live and thrive in this day, as it restores both houses of Israel to each other and to YHWH. The door is opened and all look to see if Elijah is joining the Seder tonight. Traditional Song Eli-yahu Ha-Navi. Eli-yahu Ha-Tishbee, Eli-yahu, Eli-yahu, Eli-yahu Ha-Giladee. Beem hay-rah be yah-may-nu, Yah-voh ey-lay-nu, Eeym Moshaich Ben David, eeym Moshaich Ben David.

Lamb of YHWH: Passover Hagaddah Praise for Mercy After Y shua sat and drank with His disciples, Scripture says that they sang a hymn. Psalm 136 is usually sung at this time, so let us read a portion of it together. After I read a verse you are to respond with, His mercy endures forever- Ke-le-olam chasdoh. Give thanks to YHWH, for He is good. ALL: Response: Ke-le-olam chasdoh. Give thanks to the Elohim of elohims. Give thanks to the Master of masters. To Him who alone has done great wonders. To Him who skillfully made the heavens. To Him who spread out the earth on the water. To Him who struck down Mitzrayim/Egypt s firstborn. And brought them out from among them. With a mighty hand and an outstretched arm. Who remembers us whenever we are brought low. Give thanks to the Elohim of the heavens. Lift the cup of praise and recite the Master s Prayer. ALL: Our Father, who is in heaven, Holy is your name! Your Kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass

28 against us. Lead us not into trials, but deliver us from evil. For yours is the Kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. Amen. Let us bless and partake of the Cup of Kingdom Praise, in anticipation of when we will drink it again with Y shua in the Messianic Kingdom to come. Baruch Atah YHWH, Eloheynu Melech ha Olam, borey pree ha-gafen. Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the Universe, who creates the fruit of the vine. Let us all drink the fourth cup now. As we finish our Seder and celebrate the sacrifice of Y shua let us pause and reflect upon His goodness. Who would like to give an open testimony or word of praise to the Lamb of YHWH who has taken away the sins of the world? Who would like to explain what this Passover has meant to them? Pause for a few words of testimony and reflection. READER: "The time is coming," declares YHWH, "when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah. It will not be like the covenant I made with their forefathers when I took them by the hand to lead them out of Egypt, because they broke my covenant, though I was a husband to them, " declares YHWH. "This is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after that time," declares YHWH. "I will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts. I will be their Elohim, and they will be

Lamb of YHWH: Passover Hagaddah my people. No longer will a man teach his neighbor, or a man his brother, saying, 'Know YHWH,' because they will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest," declares YHWH. "For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more," Jeremiah 31: READER: "Holy, holy, holy is YHWH Elohim Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come." (Revelation 4:8b) READER: Holy, holy, holy is YHWH Almighty; the whole earth is full of His glory." (Isaiah 6:3) READER: Therefore, since we have such a hope, we are very bold. We are not like Moses, who would put a veil over his face to keep the Israelites from gazing at it while the radiance was fading away. But their minds were made dull, for to this day the same veil remains when the old covenant is read. It has not been removed, because only in Messiah is it taken away. Even to this day when Moses is read, a veil covers their hearts. But whenever anyone turns to YHWH, the veil is taken away. Now YHWH is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of YHWH is, there is freedom. And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect YHWH's glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from YHWH, who is the Spirit, 2 Corinthians 3: Our Passover on this 14th day of Aviv, has concluded in this place. We rejoice with thanksgiving, and yet are humbled by YHWH S love. ALL: I am YHWH; I will take you as my people and I will be your Elohim, Exodus 6:7.

30 We celebrate what YHWH has done in our history, and what he has done for us, but at the same time we still await a new future. All creation still groans and longs for its final redemption. As Y shua left, he promised he would come again and restore all things. We have faith enough to believe that YHWH will not leave the world the way it is, so we await the day in which He will again come and bring His Kingdom in fullness. It is tradition to end the Seder with a farewell blessing. Let us repeat together and greet each other with love as we say: Next Year In Jerusalem ALL: Le-Shanna Ha-Ba-Ah-Be Yah Rush Alayim Next year in Jerusalem!

Lamb of YHWH: Passover Hagaddah Passover Passages And YHWH said to Moshe, Now see what I do to Pharaoh, for with a strong hand he is going to let them go, and with a strong hand he is going to drive them out of his land. And Elohim spoke to Moshe and said to him, I am YHWH. And I appeared to Avraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, as El Shaddai. And by My Name, YHWH, was I not known to them? And I also established My covenant with them, to give them the land of Canaan, the land of their sojournings, in which they have sojourned. Say, therefore, to the children of Israel, I am YHWH, and I shall bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and shall deliver you from their enslaving, and shall redeem you with an outstretched arm, and with great judgments, and shall take you as My people, and I shall be your Elohim. And you shall know that I am YHWH your Elohim who is bringing you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians. And I shall bring you into the land which I swore to give to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give it to you as in inheritance. I am YHWH, Exodus 6:1-8 Speak to all the congregation of the children of Israel, saying, On the tenth day of the month each one of them is to take for himself a lamb, according to the house of his father, a lamb for a household. Exodus 12:3. And this is how you eat it: Your loins girded, your sandals on your feet, and your staff in your hand. And you shall eat it in haste. It is the Passover of YHWH. Exodus 12:11. Seven days you shall eat unleavened bread. Indeed, on the first day you cause leaven to cease from you houses, Exodus 12:15. "And I will harden Pharaoh's heart, and multiply My signs and My wonders in the land of Egypt... that I may lay My Hand upon Egypt... and the Egyptians shall know that I am YHWH, when I stretch forth My Hand upon Egypt." Exodus 7:3-5.

32 For seven days no leaven is to be found in your houses, Exodus 12:19. Unleavened bread is to be eaten the seven days; and whatever is leaven is not to be seen with you, and leaven is not to be seen with you within all your border, Exodus 13:7. And this day shall become to you a remembrance. And you shall observe it as a festival to YHWH throughout your generations - - observe it as a festival, an everlasting law, Exodus 12:14. And you shall guard this word as a law for you and your sons forever. And it shall be, when you come to the land, which YHWH gives you, as He promised, that you shall guard this service, Exodus 12:25. And it shall be, when your children say to you, What does this service mean to you? Then you shall say, It is the Pesach slaughtering of YHWH, who passed over the houses of the children of Israel in Egypt when He smote the Egyptians and delivered our households, Exodus 12:26, 27. So Moshe told the Israelites to celebrate the Passover, and they did so in the Desert of Sinai at twilight on the fourteenth day of the first month. The Israelites did everything just as YHWH commanded Moshe, Numbers 9:4-5. On the evening of the fourteenth day of the month, while camped at Gilgal on the plains of Jericho, the Israelites celebrated the Passover, Joshua 5:10. In the first month (Aviv), on the fourteenth day of the month, you have the Pesach, a festival of seven days, unleavened bread is eaten. And on that day the Prince shall prepare for Himself and for all the people of the land a bull for a sin offering. And during the seven days of the festival He prepares a burnt offering to YHWH, seven bulls and seven rams, perfect ones, daily for seven days, and a mail goat daily for a sin offering, Ezekiel 44:21-23.
