1 Impact Scripture Reading Last week Scripture: 1 Peter 3-5 & 2 Peter 1-3 & 1 John 1 Text: 1 John 1:9 But if we confess our sins to God, he will keep his promise and do what is right: he will forgive us our sins and purify us from all our wrongdoing.

3 Psalms 34:1 I will always thank the Lord; I will never stop praising him. 2 I will praise him for what he has done; may all who are oppressed listen and be glad! 3 Proclaim with me the Lord s greatness; let us praise his name together!

4 Thankfulness is a choice it is a state of mind Paul had every right to be bitter but wasn t. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ (Ephesians 5:19-20, NIV).

5 Always giving thanks for everything no matter the circumstances! Thanksgiving for the Apostle Paul was not a once-a-year celebration, but a daily reality that changed his life and made him a joyful person in every situation.

6 A Thankful heart is born from a heart and mind that is content with what you have and received from God.

7 Philippians 4:11-13 And I am not saying this because I feel neglected, for I have learnt to be satisfied with what I have. 12 I know what it is to be in need and what it is to have more than enough. I have learnt this secret, so that anywhere, at any time, I am content, whether I am full or hungry, whether I have too much or too little. 13 I have the strength to face all conditions by the power that Christ give me.

8 Thankfulness starts in the mind what you think, how you see life and how you manage your emotions. Thankfulness is not something God gives us. It is not a spiritual gift and it is not a spiritual fruit. We can receive God s peace, joy and love but thankfulness is something that we give to God and others. It is a choice that we make. Let us thank Him today with songs of clelebration, hearts of strong devotion and of admiration. (Roy Lessin)

9 Live in the now It is good to have a God given vision for your life. To know where you are and where you heading to to plan and to administer your life journey. You are not there yet it is a journey and on the journey you have to live everyday and experience every day.

12 First thing in the morning when you wake up remind yourself: It s a new day God has made it and I will rejoice in it. Be thankful that you were able to open your eyes Be thankful for the fresh air you can breath Be thankful that you are able to get out of the bed Be thankful that you know God and that He is with you and in you

13 Thankfulness change your attitude, it change your face, it change your emotions, keeps you young it has anti-aging ingredients.

14 Count your blessings When upon life s billows you are tempest tossed, When you are discouraged, thinking all is lost, Count your many blessings name them one by one, And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.

16 The best thing to do when you are in a hard place is to go in quietness and look back from where you came from and where you are now and count your blessings, what God already has done and what He is still doing.

20 Create a heart of thankfulness be observant to the good that is in your life that God freely gives you. A small town s chamber of commerce invited a speaker to address its annual dinner. The community s economy was bad, people were discouraged, and they wanted this motivational speaker to give them a boost.

21 During her presentation, the speaker took a large piece of white paper and made a small black dot at the center with a marking pen. Then she held the paper up before the group and asked them what they saw. One person quickly replied, I see a black dot. Okay, what else do you see? Others joined in agreement: A black dot.

22 Don t you see anything besides the dot? she asked. A resounding No came from the audience. What about the sheet of paper? asked the speaker. I am sure you have all seen it, she said, But you have chosen to overlook it.

23 In life, we also tend to overlook and take for granted many wonderful things that we have or happen around us and focus our attention and energy on small, dot like failures and disappointments. The so called problems that we have are usually like the black dot on the paper. They are small and insignificant if we can widen our horizon and look at the whole picture.
