HYMN FOR TABERNACLE: (1 minute) BIBLE LESSON: (20 minutes) TABERNACLE #1 The Way of Approach to God (See Involvement Helps for Younger Children for ways to involve the children in the Bible lesson.) COUNSEL TIME: (If you have a helper, hostess, or Teacher Junior Grade, let them do the review time while you counsel those who responded to the invitation. Otherwise, at the end of club, be sure to remind the children who responded to the invitation to stay after club for a few minutes.) SPECIAL: TEN COMMANDMENTS Review: (4 minutes) Recognize those who have learned the Ten Commandments. Have them stand and announce that they are now on the Ten Commandment Honor Roll. After each commandment have the children say that commandment with you.

Story: Secret in the Woods. Teach the portion of the story listed under Week #5. REVIEW ACTIVITY: (6 minutes) Use the activity below or the Bible Learning Game from the Involvement Helps for Younger Children. Tabernacle Place ten index cards on the floor face down and in mixed order. Each card has one letter of the word TABERNACLE on it. Divide your group into two teams. Tell them the winning team will be the one who can turn over the cards one by one in the correct sequence to spell TABERNACLE. For example: when a person on Team A correctly answers a question, he turns over a card. If he turns over a B, he cannot continue since it is not the first letter of the word TABERNACLE. The card is then turned so the letter is not visible. However, if he turns over a T, he may turn over another card. If it is an A, he may continue with a third card. If at any time the letter is out of sequence, he stops and turns over the incorrect card. Team B is now given the chance to finish spelling, and so on back and forth until it is spelled correctly. Ralph Bechtel, CEF OF LEBANON COUNTY Review questions for TABERNACLE #1: 1. When Moses was on Mt. Sinai, what did God tell Moses to build? (The Tabernacle.) 2. Name 3 things God told the people to bring to help in building the Tabernacle? (Gold, silver, bronze, wood, oil, spices, ram skins, incense, and precious stones.) 3. What did God say about their heart attitude in giving their offerings? (To be willing to give.) 4. Where did the Israelites get the silver, gold, and bronze they gave as their offerings? (The Egyptians.) 5. The section enclosed in the white linen curtain fence was called what? (The court.) 6. What do the white curtains remind us of? (The righteousness of God.) 7. The curtain fence surrounded the court was 7 ½ feet high. Why was the curtain fence so high? (To remind the people of the one and only entrance not under, not over, not around, but through the door.) 8. Describe the gate that was the entrance to the court of the Tabernacle. (Only one door, on the east side, curtain was blue, purple, and scarlet.) 9. What do the three colors in the curtain remind us of? (BLUE: Jesus is from Heaven. PURPLE: Jesus is King of kings. SCARLET: Jesus is our Sacrifice.) 10. Name the boy in the lesson who was the grandson of Aaron, the High Priest, and the grandnephew of Moses. (Phinehas.) 1l. Why did Moses tell the people not to bring any more offerings? (They had more than was needed to build the Tabernacle.) 12. If Jesus is your Savior, How are you to obey Him? (Willingly) How can you do that this week? *COUNSEL TIME: (*Only if you did not counsel with the children earlier.) SEND HOME WITH THE CHILDREN: 1. Pre-session papers for older and younger children 2. Memory verse token/take Time to Review 3. Quiet Time Notebook CHILD EVANGELISM FELLOWSHIP OF EASTERN PA, INC. P.O. BOX 4375 HARRISBURG, PA

4 PRE-SESSION, Younger Child TABERNACLE #1 I am the door; by Me if any man enter in, he shall be saved.... John 10:9

5 MEMORY VERSE HELPS THE TABERNACLE LESSON #1 The Way of Approach to God John 10:9 I am the door; by Me if any man enter in, he shall be saved.... (The underlined portion of the verse indicates what the younger children should memorize.) USE the visual and let the children read the verse with you. READ the verse from your Bible while holding the visual so the children can follow along. DO MOTIONS together with the children while you EXPLAIN the verse as follows: John 10:9 (Hold hands as an open Bible.) I am the door; (Touch the tip of the middle finger of your dominant hand into the center of the palm of your non-dominant hand. Then touch the tip of the middle finger of your non-dominant hand into the palm of your dominant hand.) by Me if any man enter in, (Pretend to grab doorknob and motion outward like you are opening a door.) he shall be saved.... (Make a cross with pointer fingers.) John 10:9 (Hold hands as an open Bible.) This is the address (where the verse is located in the Bible). This verse is found in the book of John, chapter 10, verse 9. Jesus is talking in this verse. He says that He is the door. You must go through Him to get to God and to be able to live forever with Him in Heaven someday. If any man, woman, boy, or girl trusts in Jesus for their salvation from sin, something will happen... If you believe in Jesus and what He did when He died for you on the cross, He will forgive you and make you part of His family. He promises that you will live forever with Him in Heaven when your life here is over. The book of John, chapter 10, verse 9. DRILL the verse with the activity listed on the Tabernacle #1 Agenda. TEST the children for their understanding of the verse. Who is the only way to Heaven? How can you be saved? CHILD EVANGELISM FELLOWSHIP OF EASTERN PA, INC. P.O. BOX 4375 HARRISBURG, PA

6 INVOLVEMENT HELPS FOR YOUNGER CHILDREN MEMORY VERSE: Entire verse by Linda D. Ruth and Ralph Bechtel THE TABERNACLE #1 The Way of Approach to God John 10:9 I am the door; by Me if any man enter in, he shall be saved.... This verse can be sung to the tune I Am the Door found in Salvation Songs #1, page 23 or Salvation Songs Favorites, page 63. John 10:9 Hold hands as an open Bible. I am the door; Touch the tip of the middle finger of your dominant hand into the center of the palm of your non-dominant hand. Then touch the tip of the middle finger of your non-dominant hand into the palm of your dominant hand. by Me if any man enter in, Pretend to grab doorknob and motion outward like you are opening a door. he shall be saved.... Make a cross with pointer fingers. John 10:9 Hold hands as an open Bible. BIBLE LESSON HELPS: Main Truth Illustration 10 Illustration 11 Illustration 12 Illustration 13 Each time Main Thrust is repeated, have children do the following motions. On God, point to Heaven. On you, point to self. On obey, move arm to make a large O in the air. On willingly, put both hands over heart. Say, Hold up your fingers to show me how old you are. Squint your eyes as Phinehas might have done. Move arm, as Moses beckoning, and call, Come closer. As Phinehas, whisper together, He does not even know his face is shining. Cut down tree. Drag or carry wood to Moses. Reach into pockets or safe-keeping places to find gold, silver, and precious stones. Carry them to Moses. As Moses, wave arms in front of you and say, Do not bring any more gifts. Say, Tell me a color you see in the curtain hanging at the gate. Say, Show me with your fingers how many ways there are to God. BIBLE LEARNING GAME: The Way to God Have children stand in a circle. Choose two children to stand in the center with arms outstretched toward each other as if forming a gate. Others walk around the circle while singing or saying the Bible verse together. Then choose one child to walk up to the door-gate. Say, There was only one gate into the Tabernacle, and there is only one door into Heaven. That way is through Jesus. He is the only way to God. The door-gate opens for child to walk through. Choose other children to be the door-gate. Repeat as time allows. CHILD EVANGELISM FELLOWSHIP OF EASTERN PA, INC. P.O. BOX 4375 HARRISBURG, PA

7 GO AND TELL BOX Week #15 How We Can Help the Saüls (Suggested item to put in the Go and Tell Box a quarter and play shovel. What do you think these coins and a picture of shovel have to do with going and telling? (Let the children share their ideas.) These things remind us that we can have a part in sharing with our missionaries so they can tell other about Jesus. HOW CAN WE HELP THE SAÜLS? (Use HOW wordstrip.) PRAY (Use PRAY wordstrip.) Praying for our missionaries is a very important way to help our missionaries. Are you using the VIP Prayer Wheel/Prayer Bookmark to pray for Pastor Lucien and Mrs. Maude? (Show one you are using.) Each day, you can use the VIP Prayer Wheel/Prayer Bookmark to pray for our missionaries. GIVE (Use GIVE wordstrip.) God tells us to give joyfully and generously. You can earn extra money to give to the Saüls by doing different kinds of chores, such as: 1. Raking leaves or shoveling snow this winter. 2. Helping a neighbor by doing errands for them, perhaps they will share with you. 3. Sharing some of your allowance or birthday money. What will you do to earn some extra money so that you can give to the Saüls? (Put coins from Go and Tell Box in club bank or coin holder.) WRITE (Use WRITE wordstrip.) The Saüls like to receive mail. You can write them a letter and tell them about yourself. Perhaps you could send them a Valentine or Easter card. Will you write them? You bring can it to club (class) and I will mail it for you. Perhaps you can send them an . (See general information sheet on missionaries we support.) GO (Use GO wordstrip.) God wants you to be a missionary. Will you tell someone about the Lord Jesus? Are you willing to go anywhere God would ask you to go? If God were to ask you to go to Haiti someday to serve Him there, would you be willing to go? If so, will you tell Him that today? (Give time for brief, silent prayer.) LET S PRAY FOR OUR MISSIONARIES: THANK God for helping Pastor Lucien and Mrs. Maude to reach the children of Haiti with the Gospel of Christ. PRAY and ask God to help you and the other clubbers to be willing to give to the Saüls by earning money to share in our missionary offering. CHILD EVANGELISM FELLOWSHIP OF EASTERN PA, INC. P.O.
