1 1. The creation of the heavens and the earth Genesis 1: 1-2: 3 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Draw a picture of what God created on each day Day 1 Day 2 Day 3 Day 4 Day 5 Day 6 God had completed the heavens and the earth in all their vast array. By the seventh day God had finished the work He had been doing; so on the seventh day He rested from all his work. 8

2 2. Man is expelled from the Garden of Eden Genesis 3: Eve listened to the snake Adam was disobedient The Lord looked for them The Lord punished - but the Lord also promised salvation. 9

6 3. The offerings of Cain and Abel Genesis 4: 3-15 Abel served the Lord. The Lord accepted Abel!s offering. Cain was jealous of Abel. Cain killed Abel. The Lord remained faithful. Seth was born. This is an altar 13

10 4. Noah builds an ark Genesis 7: 1-24 and 8: 1-2 The people sinned. Noah built an ark Animals went into the ark in pairs The Lord sent a great flood Noah sent out a crow The dove returned with a twig Noah gave thanks to the Lord 17

11 5. The Tower of Babel Genesis 1 1: 1-9 God commanded the people to spread over the earth. But the people wanted to stay together and became a strong nation. They built a high tower. The Lord confused their language. The Lord scattered them over the face of the whole earth. 18

12 6. The calling of Abram Genesis 12: 1 The Lord called Abram out of the land of Ur. He had to go to the land the Lord showed him. The Lord made a c with Abram. Abram will be the father of a great nation. They will be as many as the stars" The Redeemer will also be born out of this nation. Abraham and Sarah!s son was born. They cal led him Isaac. Let us sing together: Psalm 105: 4 19

13 7. The offering at Moriah Genesis 22: 1-19 The Lord said to Abraham:! Take your son, your only son, Isaac, whom you love, and go to the region of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains I will tell you about.! Abraham did as the Lord asked him. Abraham believed that the Lord would honour the covenant He had made with him. Number the sequence of events in the correct order: The Lord honoured the covenant He had made with Abraham. Isaac was saved. We are also saved. Jesus Christ was the Lamb who was sacrificed in our place on the cross. 20

14 8. Jacob receives the blessing of the firstborn Genesis 27 and 28 The Lord Isaac!s prayers and and were born. The Lord said that the eldest would serve the youngest. Jacob would receive the birthright of the firstborn. Jacob did not want to wait. He decided to make another plan himself. First, he betrayed Esau and later his father Isaac. Jacob had to flee. Regardless of this, the Lord stayed " Jacob dreamed about a very long ladder which reached al l the way to heaven. Angels were climbing up and down the ladder. The Lord stood at the top of the ladder and said:! I am the Lord, the God of your father Abraham and the God of Isaac. I wil l give you and your descendants the land on which you are lying.!!i am with you and will watch over you wherever you go, and I will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you! (Gen. 28: 15). The Lord protects and keeps His children all over the world. Let us sing and be grateful.! He who watches over Israel, will neither slumber nor sleep.! He is always your protector. Psalm 121: 4 21

15 9. Joseph sold into slavery Genesis 37 Joseph went looking for his older. They were jealous of him, of his robe and of his. When they saw Joseph, the dreamer, they took his robe and cast him into a well. He was taken to Egypt as a slave and was put in jail as an innocent man. He was in prison for many years, but the Lord stayed with him. Pharaoh!s chief cupbearer and chief were also in prison and each had a dream. Joseph revealed the meanings of their dreams and their fate. He asked the cupbearer to remember him before the king. Pharaoh reinstated the cupbearer, and the baker was executed, just as Joseph had said, but the cupbearer forgot to tell Pharaoh about Joseph. The cupbearer was reinstated, but the baker had to be executed. 22

16 Pharaoh, high on his throne, dreamt a strange. He quickly called Joseph, who interpreted the dreams about cows and ears of grain. Everything in the dream came. God then changed everything in Pharaohs kingdom. Pharaoh put Joseph in charge of Egypt, and Josephs brothers bowed before him. This is how the Lord used Joseph to look after His people. 23

17 10. The birth of Moses Exodus 2: 1-10 God!s people were oppressed in a cruel way. They had to very hard in Egypt. The Lord made them strong. Pharaoh had all the baby boys killed. Yet, the Lord did not forget His people. A baby boy was born. His mother hid him in a basket by the River Nile. An Egyptian princess found him. She loved him very much. She named him. It means! I drew him out of the water!. He grew up as a prince in the palace. 24
