In semester A (03102) the learning begins with the introduction of the various definitions of the profession, an overview of the history in the country and abroad and a description of the main trends in the development of the profession. Then we will learn what is common to all social workers - what are the generic elements of the profession. We will continue with learning the various methods - work with individuals, families, groups and communities. The second Semester (03103) deals with two main issues - the ethics and ethical dilemmas in the profession of social work and different approaches to human distress. Towards the end of the course there is a reference to issues in going to the field. The course is accompanied by two additional parts: discussion groups (3134) and social involvement introduction to sw. fieldwork. In the discussion groups the student examines, practices and experiences the contents learned in the plenary course. in Social involvement the student is doing his first steps to establish professional interpersonal relationships. The Different parts of the course are interrelated and the student needs to complete each part in order to succeed the entire course. Course/Module aims: 1. Provide students with knowledge about the nature of social work, its origins, development of ideas, knowledge base on which it relies, the moral elements that shape it and the field it serves. 2. Provide students with a first theoretical and experiential experience in the analysis and understanding of social work theory and practice.
