8 How do I fast? Before beginning a fast, pray and ask the L-rd for directions! Make a verbal commitment to Him, and write down a plan. When you approach it with purpose, you ll be less likely to waiver in weak moments. You may be surprised to find that fasting is not as intimidating as you may think. But if you do find it to be a battle, don t lose heart. G-d knows your weaknesses. His fasting principles allow you the flexibility to take care of your job and duties while still making a sacrifice to honor Him. If the traditional full fast has always made you shy away from this important spiritual discipline, you may be surprised to know that there are actually many different types of fasts. With the various types of fasts and combination of fasts, you will be able to fit fasting into your life. For example, if you choose to go on a 21- day fast, you may want to begin with a full fast for 1-3 days and then continue with a Daniel Fast or some other type of partial fast for the remainder of the 21 days. No matter which fast you choose, you must always remember to consult your doctor and drink lots of water. 9 Types of fasts Full Fast: Drink only liquids especially water. On this type of fast you may also take in clear broth and 100 percent fruit and vegetable juices in order to maintain your strength. You establish the number of days for your fast in your prayer time. A Partial Fast: There are many options for partial fasts. Below are just a few from which you may select. The most frequently used example of a partial fast is found in Daniel chapter 10. The Daniel Fast is a fast from meats, sweets, breads and any drink except water for a specific time period (Daniel 10:2-3). That means you are basically fasting all but vegetables, fruits and water. Partial fasts can mean... Giving up one item of food or drink such as caffeine, coffee, soft drinks or sweets. Giving up one meal a day for a specific amount of time, one meal a week, etc. Doing a full or modified Daniel fast for a specific number of days... one day, three days and so on. Choosing to fast during set times, like 6 a.m. to 3 p.m., or from sun-up to sundown. When doing this type of fast, consider your work and sleep schedule. The hours that you sleep should not be considered part of your fasting period, so the timeframe for this type of fast may vary. Remember, the type of fast that you select is what you and the L-rd agree upon in your prayer time. Adapted from 8

10 Other common questions What if I have a medical condition? Consult your doctor before starting any fast and have him or her help you decide what will work best given your specific health and medications. If your health condition prohibits you from fasting food, try fasting something else (i.e. Media: TV, Facebook, Twitter, Internet...) in order to concentrate more heavily on prayer and Bible study. G-d knows your heart. I forgot and ate something that wasn t on my fast; do I need to start again? No, think of fasting as a marathon rather than a sprint. Don t give up! If you fall down, get up and keep trying. Conquering king stomach is difficult, but you ll make it. Do I continue to exercise while fasting? For most people moderate exercise is OK. But it is best to always consult a doctor about fasting and exercise. If you are on a complete fast, you may not have the energy for exercise. What if I have a manual labor job? If you have a job that requires you to expend a lot of physical energy, you may want to consider a full fast for one to three days or make your fast a partial fast that allows you to receive enough nutrition to perform your job. Can my spouse and I be intimate during our fast? Yes. Paul addresses this subject in 1 Corinthians 7:5, which says, do not deprive one another (of sexual relations) except with consent, for a time; that you may give yourselves to fasting and prayer. If there is mutual consent, a couple may choose to abstain during a fast. Scripture allows this for the purpose of fasting and prayer with mutual consent. Adapted from 9

21 We want to see a Great Awakening in America that will bring a harvest of souls with a great support for Eretz Israel and The People Israel. The 7 main areas of influence in any society have been described by some using the metaphor Mountains of Society. A mountain is something you must climb to take. To transform a nation, or nations, for G-d, BELIEVERS MUST INFLUENCE EVERY AREA OF SOCIETY. Some have said that believers have stayed on the Religion Mountain, and have turned over all the rest of society to be influenced by others. Let s pray that Believers will rise up and influence every area of society and culture for the Kingdom of G-d. 1. MOUNTAIN OF GOVERNMENT This sphere of society includes military, local, state, and national government leaders and employees, elected or hired. Pray G-d will mobilize intercessors for those that are in authority (1 Timothy 2:1 4). Pray that G-d will engage men and women who are willing to stand in the gap on behalf of the land so He will not destroy it (Ezekiel 22:30; 2 Chronicles 7:13 14). Pray G-d will call and empower men and women to be national leaders, who are humble, willing to intercede and even to lay their lives down on behalf of our nation as Moses did for Israel (James 4:6; Exodus 32). Thank G-d for men and women on the mountain of government who, like King David, release G-d s blessings and favor on their people because they boldly worship G-d and acknowledge His sovereignty (1 Chronicles 29:10 13). 22 Pray G-d will continue to raise up men and women on the mountain of religion who rule the people with justice under the fear of the L-rd (2 Samuel 23:3). Thank G-d and ask Him for men and women in the arena of government who, like King Solomon, have great wisdom and knowledge and by their wisdom and favor release blessings on their people (2 Chronicles 1:12). Pray G-d will position people in the sphere of government who love justice and hate injustice so that it will be evident to all people why our nation and others like it are blessed (Isaiah 61:8 9). Pray G-d will position righteous people as rulers so His people may thrive and rejoice (Proverbs 29:2). Read Isaiah 44:24 45:5. Pray G-d will raise up rulers who, like Cyrus, have the ability to fulfill the Word of G-d; to restore ruins and rebuild cities; to establish G-d s community within a region or territory (Isaiah 44:28). Pray G-d will engage anointed leaders, who have the authority to subdue rulers and nations who act wrongly toward G-d s children (2 Samuel 22:32 51; Isaiah 45:1). Pray government officials will walk in the fear of the L-rd and revere G-d s Word. Pray G-d will engage men and women like Joseph who will have the wisdom, knowledge, and understanding to protect and provide for nations in seasons of famine (Genesis 41). Pray G-d will equip men and women with godly wisdom, knowledge, and understanding, like Daniel and his compatriots, and these wise men and women will be significantly better, more effective, and more accurate counselors to rulers than those who do not know G-d (Daniel 1:17 20). Pray G-d will release a spirit of justice and righteousness that will restrain evil in our land. Pray people willingly submit to ruling authorities that have been positioned by G-d (Romans 13:1 6). 23 2. MOUNTAIN OF FAMILY This sphere of society includes people who work as counselors, ministers, social workers, educators, and those in any aspect of culture that deals with family life. Thank G-d for mothers and fathers who have a relationship with G-d, enabling them to love their children and teach with wisdom, knowledge and understanding that come from knowing G-d. Pray G-d will give mothers and fathers the language of those instructed by G-d so they may speak with wisdom into their children s lives; know how to sustain their children with comforting words when they are weary; be able to teach their children how to be instructed by the L-rd (Isaiah 50:4). Pray parents will be able to lead their children into a relationship with G-d, the Father. Pray our children will be (and be known by others as) the children of G-d (Isaiah 51:16; Romans 8:14 15). Pray G-d will cause them to multiply their impact through their willingness to parent those who have not had godly parents (Isaiah 54:1 3). Pray G-d will teach our children, make them prosperous, keep them from oppression and terror, only allow enemy attacks on their lives that will accomplish what is needed to make them mighty warriors for His Kingdom, not allow any weapon formed against them to prosper, and refute any accusations made against His righteous children (Isaiah 54:13 17). Pray fathers will be careful not to exasperate their children but lovingly, wisely, and patiently train them in the ways of the L-rd (Colossians 3:20; Ephesians 6:4). Pray parents will create an atmosphere of joy that celebrates obedience in their homes. Pray children will desire to obey their parents because they know obedience pleases G-d (Colossians 3:20). Pray broken marriages will be restored. Pray husbands will love their wives as Messiah loves the Body (Ephesians 5:23), as their own bodies, nurturing and caring for her (Ephesians 5:28 29, 33),and will cling to the wife of their youth (Ephesians 5:31; Proverbs 5:15 23; Ecclesiastes 9:9; Malachi 2:14 16). MOUNTAIN OF MARKETPLACE This sphere of society includes the sciences, medicine, retail, service, managerial, the restaurant industry, etc. Pray G-d s servants in the marketplace will walk in integrity, humility, faithfulness, and righteousness. Pray they will be filled with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding that comes from G-d. Pray they will be trustworthy, kindhearted, pure, discrete, and generous. Pray G-d s sons and daughters will observe G-d s commands so G-d will be able to bless them with beautiful land that is productive and nurturing (Deuteronomy 8:6 10). Pray G-d s sons and daughters will seek the knowledge of G-d s will, spiritual wisdom, and understanding so they may live lives pleasing to the L-rd, bearing fruit in every good work. Pray G-d s ministers in the marketplace will use honest scales and measurements when dealing with customers, clients, and suppliers (Leviticus 19:36; Proverbs 11:1). Pray G-d s sons and daughters will be careful to obey His laws so they will be prosperous and successful (Joshua 1:7 8, 2; Chronicles 26:5; Proverbs 16:3). Pray G-d s servants will not rely on wicked counsel or confer with mockers so whatever they do will prosper (Psalms 1:1 3). Pray G-d s servants will honor the L-RD with their wealth, with the first fruits of all their crops so their barns will be filled to overflowing, and their vats will brim over with new wine (Proverbs 3:9 10). Pray G-d will keep His sons and daughters free from the love of money. Pray G-d will help them to be content and fulfilled by the knowledge of His presence in their lives (1Timothy 6:6 10; Hebrew13:5). Read 1Timothy 6: Pray G-d s children in the marketplace sphere of society will do well, be rich in good deeds, be generous, and be willing to share (1 Timothy 6:11 18). 26 4. MOUNTAIN OF EDUCATION This sphere of society includes teachers, administrators, coaches, staff, and volunteers at all levels of education from preschool thru graduate levels. Read 2 Timothy 3:14 4:4. Pray G-d will position godly administrators and teachers on the Mountain of Education. Pray G-d will give His educators wisdom, favor, and ability to influence. Pray godly teachers positioned in the sphere of education will remain faithful to teaching based on the knowledge of truth that they have learned from Scripture with godly wisdom. Pray teachers will be able to instruct, admonish, and encourage their students in ways leading to righteous living. Pray teachers will be able to equip their students with all they need to fulfill their G-d-given purposes. Pray teachers will be patient and careful when giving instructions. Pray that teacher s concepts of G-d are sound and grounded in truth so they may be able to dispel myths that are perpetuated through false doctrine (2 Timothy 3:14 4:4). Pray teachers, administrators, and parents will become intercessors for their students and that they will pray their students hearts, minds, and spirits will be opened to knowledge, wisdom, and understanding that comes from G-d so their minds and purposes are conformed to the mind of Yeshua and His purposes. Pray students will have the fortitude when tested to prove G-d s will in and through their lives (Romans 12:1 2). Pray teachers will be able to teach their students how to demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of G-d and take captive every thought to make it obedient to Messiah (2 Corinthians 10:3 5). Pray teachers will be free to teach students to fear the L-rd, which is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One, which brings understanding (Proverbs 9:10, John 8:32). Pray G-d will bring into position student leaders within student bodies, who are like Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego filled with wisdom and understanding because they From AwakeningAmerica.Us 25

MOUNTAIN OF ARTS, ENTERTAINMENT, AND SPORTS This sphere of society includes actors, writers, producers, managers, singers, instrumental musicians, dancers, athletes, coaches, referees, photographers, graphic artists, gaming professionals, cartoonists, artists in all types of mediums, and individuals who work in various support roles in these fields. Pray G-d s servants in the area of arts and entertainment will walk in integrity, humility, faithfulness, righteousness; that they will be filled with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding that comes from G-d. Pray they will be trustworthy, kindhearted, pure, discrete, and generous (Proverbs 11). Pray G-d will call and anoint people, who will produce excellent quality entertainment that displays godly lifestyles, behaviors, and values in the movie industry. Pray G-d will inspire psalmists, who will sing new songs unto the L-rd (Isaiah 42:10). Pray G-d will enable and position musicians who will play skillfully in a broad spectrum of settings (Psalm33:3). Pray G-d will raise up designers and artisans who are filled with the spirit of G-d, skilled and knowledgeable about all kinds of crafts, and able to teach others (Exodus 35:30 36:1). Pray G-d will release resources to His artists who will faithfully produce work that brings glory to Him. Pray G-d will reveal corruption within this sphere of society to authorities that will act with godly intent to correct situations. Pray G-d will cause a great distaste of ungodly values throughout society, especially among the young. Pray G-d will create a hunger throughout society for godly virtues to be exhibited. Pray G-d will use His sons and daughters on the mountain of arts and entertainment to create works that cause people to rejoice in the L-rd. Pray G-d will raise up artists who are modest. 29 Pray G-d s children in the arena of arts and entertainment will create work that causes the peace of G-d to arise within men and women. Pray this resulting peace will pass human understanding a peace that keeps hearts and minds through Messiah Yeshua. Pray that the work of believing artists would cause viewing audiences to focus on whatsoever things are true, honest, just, pure, lovely, and of good report. MOUNTAIN OF RELIGION This sphere of society includes apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, teachers, administrators, staff, congregational members, volunteers, etc. (Ephesians 4:11) Read Isaiah 61:1 6. Pray G-d will call and mobilize men and women who walk in the spirit of the sovereign L-RD; who are anointed to preach good news to the poor; who are willing to be sent to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives, and release prisoners from darkness. Pray they will boldly proclaim the year of the L-RD's favor and the day of G-d s vengeance. Pray they will be willing to comfort all who mourn and provide for those who grieve, bestowing on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and garments of praise instead of spirits of despair. Pray G-d will view His servants as oaks of righteousness, plantings of the L-RD that display His splendor. Pray G-d enables them to rebuild the ancient ruins, restore the places long devastated, and renew the ruined cities that have been devastated for generations. Pray these men and women will wisely shepherd G-d s flocks and work His fields and vineyards. Pray G-d will be able to refer to them as His priests and ministers who serve Him. Pray G-d s servants will be able to present the fullness of His message; reveal the secrets of His kingdom and the mystery of Messiah Yeshua dwelling in us; possess wisdom and energy to teach, admonish, and instruct G-d s people so they may be presented perfect to Messiah (Colossians 1:24 25). 31 Pray their gifted teaching will keep G-d s children from acting like infants, who are tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of men in their deceitful scheming. Pray G-d will use those ministers to speak the truth in love so we will, in all things, grow up into Him, who is the Head, that is, Messiah Yeshua. MOUNTAIN OF MEDIA This sphere of society includes writers, editors, producers, technicians, personalities, staff, etc. who work in the fields of television, radio, the Internet, newspapers, magazines, and other media sources or outlets. Pray G-d s servants on the mountain of media will walk in integrity, humility, faithfulness, and righteousness. Pray they will be filled with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding that comes from G-d and be trustworthy, kindhearted, pure, discrete, and generous (Proverbs 11). Read Romans 10: Thank G-d that He has positioned men and women in the sphere of media who will boldly give glory to G-d for the great things that He has done. Pray G-d will speak through the leaders He has placed on the mountain of media because the Spirit of the L-rd is upon them and His Word is on their tongue (2 Samuel 23:2). Pray G-d s people in the arena of media will be aware that the power of life and death are in the tongue, and they will not use their words carelessly but use their tongues to bring forth life (Proverbs 18:21; Matthew 12:37). Pray G-d will position people within the media who will use their tongue to build up and not tear down what G-d has planted in His people (1 Corinthians 10:8). Pray G-d will position and give favor and authority to those whom He has appointed to be a voice of justice to the nations (Matthew 12:18). Pray He will make them bold, fearless and unashamed of the gospel (Jeremiah 1:10; Romans 1:16). Pray G-d will instruct those on the mountain of media to know how to sustain the weary with a word (Isaiah 50:4a). Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. 40 Tabernacle Prayer The Tabernacle was the dwelling place of G-d where He met His people. As they entered the Tabernacle, they passed through seven stations as a protocol to G-d s presence. Today, these same steps can help us to connect with G-d and lead us through important elements of prayer. 1. THE OUTER COURT THANKSGIVING AND PRAISE Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name (Psalm 100:4). As the people of G-d entered the Tabernacle, they came in with thanksgiving on their lips. Thanking G-d for all the blessings in your life is a great way to begin. Every day, think of a fresh reason why you love and appreciate G-d. 39

THE BRAZEN ALTAR THE CROSS OF YESHUA Praise the L-rd, my soul, and forget not all his benefits who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle s (Psalm 103:2-5). In the Old Testament, everyone who had committed sin had to bring animal sacrifices. Yeshua paid for all your sins once and for all. You simply need to receive the benefits of what Yeshua did for you. THE LAVER CLEANSING AND PREPARING Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of G-d s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to G-d this is your spiritual act of worship (Romans 12:1). The next step in the Tabernacle was a bowl of water where people could wash. Checking your hearts and motives and then surrendering your life to G-d is an important part of daily prayer. Here are some ways to keep your heart right with G-d. Repent from any known sin. Offer your body to G-d. Your tongue to speak good and not evil Your eyes to see G-d and the needs of others Your ears to be sensitive to His voice 40

THE MENORAH THE RUACH HAKODESH The Spirit of the L-rd will rest on him the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of might, the Spirit of the knowledge and fear of the L-rd (Isaiah 11:2). The next piece of furniture in the Tabernacle was a sevenbranched golden menorah. The fire represents the Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit). Every day you should invite the presence of the Ruach HaKodesh into your life. THE TABLE OF SHEWBREAD THE WORD OF G-D Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. THE ALTAR OF INCENSE WORSHIP The name of the L-rd is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe (Proverbs 18:10). A small altar of burning incense stood at the entrance to the Holy of Holies, where G-d s presence dwelt. This altar represents worship. 46 WARFARE PRAYERS Prayer is not only communion with G-d; it is confrontation with the enemy. These prayers are very helpful in spiritual warfare. Put on the full armor of G-d so that you can take your stand against the devil s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of G-d, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the Gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Ruach, which is the Word of G-d. And pray in the Ruach on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the L-rd s people (Ephesians 6:11-18). 45

I receive it in a new and fresh way from You and I declare that nothing can separate me from the love of Messiah and the place I have in Your kingdom. I wear Your righteousness today against all condemnation and corruption. Cover me with Your holiness and purity defend me from all assaults against my heart. L-rd, I put on the belt of truth. I choose a lifestyle of honesty and integrity. Expose the lies I have believed, and show me the truths I need today. I choose to live for the Gospel in every moment. Show me where You are working and lead me to it. Give me strength to walk daily with You. I believe that You are powerful against every lie and assault of the enemy. You have good in store for me. Nothing is coming today that can overcome me because You are with me. Ruach HaKodesh show me the truths of the Word of G-d that I will need to counter the traps of the enemy. 48 THE WEAPONS OF WARFARE (based on 2 Corinthians 10:4-5) Father, Your Word says that no weapon formed against me shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Therefore I declare that no weapon formed against me prospers this day or any day to come in Yeshua name. Your Word says that trouble will not arise a second time (Nahum 1:9). Therefore I declare that Ha Satan cannot make trouble for me again, in this manner, as he did in the past in Yeshua name. I declare all of these prayers accomplished and brought to pass by trusting you through faith and expectation in the name of Yeshua. L-rd Yeshua, I confess to You all of my sins this day, yesterday, and every day past. I repent and renounce them, those known and unknown, those of omission and commission, in what I have done and in what I have failed to do. I lay down at Your feet all of the sins of the flesh, the tongue, and of the heart, and all unholy thoughts and actions. Thank You, L-rd, for shedding Your precious blood for me. I stand on Your Word. The enemy is driven out from before me, above me, around me, and below me; from my home, workplace, congregation and its ministries, children, and loved ones; from my works and labors, land, and my presence. I declare that he is not able to stand against me, and his works are taken captive and destroyed. No weapon formed against me will prosper, for the Ruach of the L-rd shall raise a standard against them. I declare all of these things accomplished by Your Word. I cover myself with the blood of the L-rd Messiah as my protection. I surrender myself completely and unreservedly in every area of my life to You. I submit myself only to the true and living G-d and refuse any involvement of the enemy in my life. I choose to be transformed by the renewing of my mind. I pull down every thought that exalts itself against the knowledge of Messiah. I pray and thank you for a sound mind, the mind of Messiah. Today and every day I ask for protection over my spouse; each of my children; our immediate family members, relatives, friends, acquaintances and myself. I also ask today for protection during all of our travels; for our provision, finances, possessions, health, safety, and welfare. I put all of these things under the covering of Your precious blood and declare that Ha Satan cannot touch them, on this day or any day to come. GENERAL CONFESSION PRAYER (based on Romans 10:10; James 5:16; I John 1:7-9, 3:8) L-rd Yeshua, I believe that You are the Son of G-d. You are the Messiah, come in the flesh to destroy the works of the devil. You died on the tree for my sins and rose again the third day from the dead. I now confess all my sins and repent. I receive your forgiveness and ask you to cleanse me from all sin. Thank You for redeeming me, cleansing me, justifying me, and sanctifying me in Your blood. 48
