Background: This Torah portion continues with the words that dedi spoke on Mount Sinai. This continues from Torah portion Behar. The theme of Leviticus is How sinful man draws near to a Holy dedi Bechukkotai ( izwga ) = In My Statues Events in this Torah portion: dedi speaks to Moses about following His decrees and commands to receive the ten blessings and He will walk among His people If you will not obey Him and annul the Covenant He will send 7 curses If we still don't turn back to Him, He will send the second set of 7 curses If you still behave casually and not keep the Covenant He will send the third set of 7 curses. If you still don't return to the Covenant, He will send the fourth set of curses If we still don t return to Him, He will send the fifth set of curses (14) and deal with fury. The land will have it's rest during the exile. 70 years for Judah in Babylon and 390 x 7 = 2730 years for Israel. Assyrian captivity in 721BC to 2010AD = 2730 years If you obey dedi you will prosper in every way Leviticus 26:3-8 If you walk in My statutes, and keep My commandments, and do them; 4 Then I will give you rain in due season, and the land shall yield her increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit. 5 And your threshing shall reach to the vintage, and the vintage shall reach to the sowing time: and you shall eat your bread to the full, and dwell in your land safely. 6 And I will give peace in the land, and you shall lie down, and none shall make you afraid: and I will rid evil beasts out of the land, neither shall the sword go through your land. 7 And you shall chase your enemies, and they shall fall before you by the sword. 8 And five of you shall chase an hundred, and an hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight: and your enemies shall fall before you by the sword. dedi Has set Israel free to obey Him Leviticus 26:9-13 For I will have respect for you, and make you fruitful, and multiply you, and establish My Covenant with you. 10 And you shall eat old store, and bring forth the old because of the new. 11 And I will set My Tabernacle among you: and my soul shall not abhor you. 12 And I will walk among you, and will be your Elohim, and you shall be My people. 13 I am dedi your Elohim, which brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, that you should not be their bondmen; and I have broken the bands of your yoke, and made you go upright. 1

Comment: Notice it does not say if you believe in Me or you understand My word. The blessings only comes when we actually do what He has commanded. The idea of just believing and not obeying is a Greek concept that is foreign to Hebrew culture and to our Creator These blessings are dependent on what we actually do. dedi will not go against His word, If we don't do what He has commanded we should not expect to be blessed. In fact the following passage tells us how we will be punished if we fail to follow His commands. (Hebrew is an verb or action based language unlike English which is noun based) Blessings for Obedience: 1. dedi will send rain for our crops 2. The land will give its produce 3. Trees will give their fruit 4. The harvest will be so great that we will be eating it when the next harvest comes 5. Peace will be throughout the land 6. We will have great power over our enemies 7. We will have many children and large families 8. dedi will have His Sanctuary among us 9. dedi Spirit will not reject us 10. dedi will walk among us and be our Elohim If you don t obey, He will send sickness and famine Leviticus 26:14-17 But if you will not listen to Me, and will not do all these Commandments; 15 And if you shall despise My statutes, or if your soul abhor My judgments, so that you will not do all My commandments, but that you break My Covenant: 16 I also will do this to you; I will even appoint over you terror, consumption, and the inflammation, that shall consume the eyes, and cause sorrow of heart: and you shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it. 17 And I will set My face against you, and you shall be slain before your enemies: they that hate you shall reign over you; and you shall flee when none pursues you. 2

Curse for Disobedience if we don't follow His commands: 1. dedi will cause the disobedient to be in panic 2. They will have swelling lesions 3. They will have burning fever causing eyes to long and souls to suffer 4. They will sow their seed in vain because the enemy will eat their increase 5. They will be struck down before their enemies 6. They will be ruled by their enemies 7. They will flee when no one is pursuing Comment: Notice it does not say if you believe in Me or you understand My word. If we fail to do what He has commanded, we break the Covenant with Him. If we are not in Covenant with Him all evil can come against us. Related Scripture: Blessings come from Obedience Luke 6:46-49 And why do you call Me, Adonai, Adonai and don't do the things which I say? 47: Whoever comes to Me, and hears My sayings, and does them, I will show you to whom he is like: 48: He is like a man which built a house, and dug deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently on that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded on a rock. 49: But he that hears, and does not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house on the earth; against which the stream beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great. Comment: A person who builds his house on sand will seem to be doing as well as others. The foundation is made to keep a house from slowly sinking into the ground. Everything would seem to be fine at first, but in time or when a storm came the error of his way would be evident. Many people seem to be blessed who are not obeying dedi but when troubles come the difference between those who obey and those who have not obeyed will be evident. dedi is not obligated to help those who are not obeying His commands. In fact His is obligated to bring judgment on them because He is true to His word. We see from the following Scripture that some who wait to the end to seek dedi will not find Him because they would not hear when He called. We know the Tribulation will cause many to seek Him, but for some it will be to late. Related Scripture: Difficulty brings us to Him Hosea 5:15 I will go and return to My place, till they acknowledge their offense, and seek My face: in their affliction they will seek me early. 3

Related Scripture: Tribulation will cause many to follow the Scriptures Isaiah 26:9 With my soul have I desired You in the night; yes, with my spirit within me will I seek You early: for when Your judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness. Related Scripture: He loves those who love Him Proverbs 8:17 I love them that love Me; and those that seek Me early shall find Me Related Scripture: We keep His Commandments because we love Him John 14:15 If you love Me, keep My commandments. Related Scripture: If He calls and you refuse Proverbs 1:24-31 Because I have called, and you refused; I have stretched out My hand, and no man regarded; 25 But you have set at nought all My counsel, and would none of My reproof: 26 I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear comes; 27 When your fear comes as desolation, and your destruction comes as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish comes on you. 28 Then shall they call on Me, but I will not answer; they shall seek Me early, but they shall not find Me: 29 For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of dedi: 30 They would have none of My counsel: they despised all My reproof. 31 Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices. If you will not listen your land will not grow food Leviticus 26:18-20 And if you will not yet for all this listen to Me, then I will punish you seven times more for your sins. 19 And I will break the pride of your power; and I will make your heaven as iron, and your earth as brass: 20 And your strength shall be spent in vain: for your land shall not yield her increase, neither shall the trees of the land yield their fruits. If judgments fail to turn you back to Him, dedi will punish seven ways Second set of judgments for disobedience. The punishment that is given, is given measure for measure proportional to their sins 1. dedi will break their pride 2. dedi will break their might 3. dedi will make the heaven like iron (He will not hear their prayers) 4. dedi will make the earth like brass (land will not give blessings) 5. Their strength will be spent in vain 6. The land will not give its produce 7. Trees will not give their fruit (fruit that does grow will fall off before it ripens) 4

If you still refuse He will send Plagues and Beasts Leviticus 26:21-22 And if you walk casually with Me, and will not listen to Me; I will bring seven times more plagues on you according to your sins. 22 I will also send wild beasts among you, which shall rob you of your children, and destroy your cattle, and make you few in number; and your high ways shall be desolate. Casually = hostile encounter (s# 7147 ixw ) (ker-ee') from(s# 7136 dxw) (kaw-raw') to light upon (chiefly by accident) cause to bring about; spec. to impose timbers for roof or floor: appoint make beams, befall, bring, come to pass, floor, meet, send good speed. Stone edition Chumash (page 713) Casually - The translation follows Rashi's primary interpretation according to Sifra. It means that despite the punishments, your performance of the commandments will be haphazard and erratic; you will treat them as a mater of choice and convenience, rather than as Divinely imposed obligations. Onkelos renders with stubbornness, meaning that you will stubbornly refuse to draw close to Me. Third set of judgments for disobedience It only appears to list five judgments not seven. There is more to learn here than what meets the eye. The following list is what is listed in the Stone Edition Chumash page dedi will incite wildlife (wild beasts) against you 2. Against your domestic animals (?) 3. Poisonous snakes (?) 4. Your children will die 5. Your live stock will be diminished 6. Population will be diminished 7. Your roads will become desolate 5

If you walk contrary to Me I will walk contrary to you Leviticus 26:23-26 And if you will not be reformed by Me by these things, but will walk contrary to Me; :24 Then will I also walk contrary to you, and will punish you yet seven times for your sins. 25 And I will bring a sword on you, that shall avenge the quarrel of My Covenant: and when you are gathered together within your cities, I will send the pestilence among you; and you shall be delivered into the hand of the enemy. 26 And when I have broken the staff of your bread, ten women shall bake your bread in one oven, and they shall deliver you your bread again by weight: and you shall eat, and not be satisfied. Fourth set of judgments for disobedience 1. dedi would hide His face 2. dedi will bring warfare against those who do not obey 3. The Covenant will be avenged (according to dedi's Covenant with Abraham) 4. dedi will send pestilence 5. We will be delivered into the hand of our enemy 6. There will be very little bread to eat 7. We will not have enough to eat and starve to death Stone Edition Chumash (page 713) I will punish you measure for measure by making it more difficult for you to perceive the Divine hand. The next series of punishments will seem haphazard, for their correspondence to your sins will not be as obvious as in the case of the earlier punishments. (or HaChaim), This follows the principle that if people refuse to "see" dedi, He withdraws His presence (ipt zqd Hidden of the Countenance) and makes it harder for them to recognize the truth. 6

If you still will not obeyelohim will judge you with fury Leviticus 26:27-33 And if you will not for all this listen to Me, but walk contrary to Me; 28 Then I will walk contrary to you also in fury; and I, even I, will chastise you seven times for your sins. 29 And you shall eat the flesh of your sons, and the flesh of your daughters shall you eat. 30 And I will destroy your high places, and cut down your images, and cast your carcases on the carcases of your idols, and My soul shall abhor you. 31 And I will make your cities waste, and bring your sanctuaries to desolation, and I will not smell the savor of your sweet odors. 32 And I will bring the land into desolation: and your enemies which dwell there shall be astonished at it. 33 And I will scatter you among the heathen, and will draw out a sword after you: and your land shall be desolate, and your cities waste. Fifth set of judgments for disobedience 1. I will behave toward you with fury of casualness Hosea 1:6 And she conceived again, and bare a daughter. And Elohim said to him, "Call her name Loruhamah: for I will no more have mercy on the house of Israel; but I will utterly take them away." 2. You will eat the flesh of your sons and daughters Lamentations 2:20 Behold, O dedi, and consider to whom You have done this. Shall the women eat their fruit, and children of a span long? shall the priest and the prophet be slain in the Sanctuary of Adonai? 3. I will destroy your lofty buildings Ezekiel 26:12 And they shall make a spoil of your riches, and make a prey of your merchandise: and they shall break down your walls, and destroy your pleasant houses: and they shall lay your stones and your timber and your dust in the midst of the water. 4. I will decimate your sun-idols Sun idols include obelisks of stone or wooden structures that point to the sun. These include structures like the Washington Monument as well as church steeples. 5. I will cast your carcasses on the carcasses of your idols. 6. My spirit will reject you. Hosea 1:8-9 Now when she had weaned Loruhamah, she conceived, and bare a son. 9. Then said Elohim, Call his name Loammi: for you are not My people, and I will not be your Elohim. 7. I will lay your cities in ruin Cities Destroyed -We see how the city of New Orleans was destroyed by a hurricane that came up from nowhere one day after the United States forced Israel to abandon Gaza. We forced them to make their citizens homeless and Elohim made American citizens homeless in proportion to the number of the relative populations. 7

8. I will make your sanctuaries desolate 9. I will not savor your satisfying aromas 10. I will make your land desolate 11. Your foes who dwell on it will be desolate. The Land of Israel was desolate from the time Israel was expelled by the Romans until they returned to the land in the early 1900's. 12. I will scatter you among the nations Israel was scattered by Assyria in 721BC and Judah was later scattered by the Romans 70 AD. Only Judah has returned to the land of Israel. The ten lost tribes will return in the Greater Exodus as described in Jeremiah. Jeremiah 23:7-8 Therefore, behold, the days come, says dedi, that they shall no more say, dedi lives, which brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt; 8 But, dedi lives, which brought up and which led the seed of the house of Israel out of the north country, and from all countries where I had driven them; and they shall dwell in their own land. 13. I will send the sword after you. 14. Your land will be desolate. 15. Your cities will be a ruin. When they are cast out of the land, it will enjoy its Sabbaths Leviticus 26:34-35 Then shall the land enjoy her Sabbaths, as long as it lies desolate, and you are in your enemies' land; even then shall the land rest, and enjoy her Sabbaths. 35 As long as it lies desolate it shall rest; because it did not rest in your Sabbaths, when you dwelt on it. The failure to observe the laws of Shemittah and Yovel is the cause for Exile to Babylon 490 years of planting every year instead of planting only six of seven years. This makes a total of seventy years of not resting. The captivity of Judah was for seventy years. Related Scripture: Israel turned away from following dedi Psalms 106:37-48 Yes, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters to devils, 38 And shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, who they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan: and the land was polluted with blood. 39 Thus were they defiled with their own works, and went a whoring with their own inventions. 40 Therefore was the wrath of dedi kindled against His people, insomuch that He abhorred His own inheritance. 41 And He gave them into the hand of the heathen; and they that hated them ruled over them. 42 Their enemies also oppressed them, and they were brought into subjection under their hand. 43 Many times did He deliver them; but they provoked Him with their counsel, and were brought low for their 8

iniquity. 44 Nevertheless He regarded their affliction, when He heard their cry: 45 And He remembered for them His Covenant, and repented according to the multitude of His mercies. 46 He made them also to be pitied of all those that carried them captives. 47 Save us, O dedi our Elohim, and gather us from among the heathen, to give thanks to Your holy name, and to triumph in Your praise. 48 Blessed is dedi Elohim of Israel from everlasting to everlasting: and let all the people say, Amen. Praise dedi. Related Scripture: Judah returned to the land after it rested 70 years II Chronicles 36:14-23: Moreover all the chief of the priests, and the people, transgressed very much after all the abominations of the heathen; and polluted the house of dedi which He had hallowed in Jerusalem. 15: And dedi Elohim of their fathers sent to them by His messengers, rising up betimes, and sending; because He had compassion on His people, and on His dwelling place: 16: But they mocked the messengers of Elohim, and despised His words, and misused His prophets, until the wrath of dedi arose against His people, till there was no remedy. 17: Therefore He brought on them the king of the Chaldees, who slew their young men with the sword in the house of their Sanctuary, and had no compassion on young man or maiden, old man, or him that stooped for age: He gave them all into his hand. 18: And all the vessels of the house of Elohim, great and small, and the treasures of the house of dedi, and the treasures of the king, and of his princes; all these he brought to Babylon. 19: And they burnt the house of Elohim, and broke down the wall of Jerusalem, and burnt all the palaces with fire, and destroyed all the goodly vessels thereof. 20: And them that had escaped from the sword he carried away to Babylon; where they were servants to him and his sons until the reign of the kingdom of Persia: 21: To fulfill the word of dedi by the mouth of Jeremiah, until the land had enjoyed her Sabbaths: for as long as she lay desolate she kept Sabbath, to fulfill three score and ten years (70). 22: Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of dedi spoken by the mouth of Jeremiah might be accomplished, dedi stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and put it also in writing, saying, 23: Thus says Cyrus king of Persia, All the kingdoms of the earth has dedi Elohim of heaven given me; and He has charged me to build Him a house in Jerusalem, which is in Judah. Who is there among you of all His people? dedi his Elohim be with him, and let him go up. Related Scripture: Judah was in captivity in Babylon for 70 years Jeremiah 31:31-34 Behold, the days come, says dedi, that I will make a New Covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: 32 Not according to the Covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which My Covenant they broke, although I was an husband to them, says dedi: 33 But this shall be the Covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, says dedi, I will put My Torah in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their Elohim, and they shall be My people. 34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, Know dedi: for they shall all know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them, says dedi: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more. 9

Related Scripture: Forgive for 490 years Matthew 18:21-22 Then came Peter to Him, and said, Adonai, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times? 22: Yeshua said to him, I say not to you, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven. (490 years) If we are under the New Covenant then we are either of Judah or of Israel. dedi has never made a Covenant with gentiles, only with the descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacoband Gentiles who are grafted into Israel as Paul says in Galatians. Related Scripture: We are Abraham s seed Galatians 3:29 And if you are Messiah's, then are you Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise. Related Scripture: Israel (10 Tribes)was exiled into the nations in 721 BC Ezekiel 4:3-17 Moreover take to you an iron pan, and set it for a wall of iron between you and the city: and set your face against it, and it shall be besieged, and you shall lay siege against it. This shall be a sign to the house of Israel. 4 Lie also on your left side, and lay the iniquity of the house of Israel on it: according to the number of the days that you shall lie on it you shall bear their iniquity. 5 For I have laid on you the years of their iniquity, according to the number of the days, three hundred and ninety days (390 days): so shall you bear the iniquity of the house of Israel. 6 And when you have accomplished them, lie again on your right side, and you shall bear the iniquity of the house of Judah forty days: I have appointed you each day for a year. 7 Therefore you shall set your face toward the siege of Jerusalem, and your arm shall be uncovered, and you shall prophesy against it. 8 And, behold, I will lay bands on you, and you shall not turn from one side to another, till you have ended the days of your siege. 9 Take also to you wheat, and barley, and beans, and lentils, and millet, and fetches, and put them in one vessel, and make bread of it, according to the number of the days that you shall lie on your side, three hundred and ninety days shall you eat of it. 10 And your food which you shall eat shall be by weight, twenty shekels a day: from time to time shall you eat it. 11 You shall drink also water by measure, the sixth part of an hin: from time to time shall you drink. 12 And you shall eat it as barley cakes, and you shall bake it with dung that comes out of man, in their sight. 13 And dedi said, Even thus shall the children of Israel eat their defiled bread among the Gentiles, where I will drive them. 14 Then I said, Ah Adonai dedi! behold, my soul has not been polluted: for from my youth up even till now have I not eaten of that which dies of itself, or is torn in pieces; neither came there abominable flesh into my mouth. 15 Then He said to me, behold, I have given you cow's dung for man's dung, and you shall prepare your bread with it. 16 Moreover He said to me, Son of man, behold, I will break the staff of bread in Jerusalem: and they shall eat bread by weight, and with care; and they shall drink water by measure, and with astonishment: 17 That they may want bread and water, and be astounded one with another, and consume away for their iniquity. 10

Comment: Ezekiel was told to lay on his left side for 390 days for the nation of Israel. This means that their exile would only last for three hundred and ninety years if they returned to following His commands. Since they did not return to Him, He said their exile would be multiplied by seven as stated in Leviticus 26:28. This would make their exile 390 X 7 = 2730 years. Since they went into captivity in 721BC, and since their is no year zero year. That will cause their captivity to last until the year This also agrees with the prophecy that dedi would bring them back under the Covenant. It has only been the last twenty years or so that "gentiles" all over the world have begun to be interested in the Hebrew roots of their faith. We are coming back to the Torah just as dedi said He would bring us back in the latter days. It is interesting to note that there is not a world leader of this movement and that it is composed of many small groups all over the world, each seeking to understand His ways. We are turning away from things that are not pleasing to Him and becoming aware of who we are and that we are connected to Abraham through the Covenant. Related Scripture: Israel (10 Tribes) scattered into the nations, but regathered Hosea 1:1-11 The word of dedi that came to Hosea, the son of Beeri, in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash, king of Israel. 2 The beginning of the word of dedi by Hosea. And dedi said to Hosea, Go, take to you a wife of whoredoms and children of whoredoms: for the land has committed great whoredom, departing from dedi. 3 So he went and took Gomer the daughter of Diblaim; which conceived, and bare him a son. 4 And dedi said to him, Call his name Jezreel (dedi sows or dedi scatters); for yet a little while, and I will avenge the blood of Jezreel on the house of Jehu, and will cause to cease the kingdom of the house of Israel. 5 And it shall come to pass at that day, that I will break the bow of Israel in the valley of Jezreel. 6 And she conceived again, and bare a daughter. And Elohim said to him, Call her name Loruhamah (no mercy): for I will no more have mercy on the house of Israel; but I will utterly take them away. 7 But I will have mercy on the house of Judah, and will save them by dedi their Elohim, and will not save them by bow, nor by sword, nor by battle, by horses, nor by horsemen. 8 Now when she had weaned Loruhamah, she conceived, and bare a son. 9 Then said Elohim, Call his name Loammi: (not My people) for you are not My people, and I will not be your Elohim. 10 Yet the number of the children of Israel shall be as the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured nor numbered; and it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said to them, you are not My people, there it shall be said to them, You are the sons of the living Elohim. 11 Then shall the children of Judah and the children of Israel be gathered together, and appoint themselves one head, and they shall come up out of the land: for great shall be the day of Jezreel. The Nation of Israel The ten tribes of the northern kingdom, had turned away from the Torah and had turned back to the golden calf system of worship. Their king Jeroboam had placed a golden calf in the city of Dan and in the city of Bethel. They had stopped keeping the Festivals that were commanded in Leviticus chapter 23. They had become as the gentiles. When Assyria captured them they forgot that they were descended from Abraham and assimilated and were scattered (Jezreel) throughout the world, just as the prophet Hosea had said. They no longer considered themselves to be connected to Abraham. dedi had said that He 11

would scatter them over the whole earth because they were not following His Torah, but that He would also gather them in the end times. Paul quotes this exact Scripture in the book of Romans when he is referring to the gentiles that he was sent to. He is saying that those who come back to dedi are of the lost ten tribes or any who desire to be grafted into Israel. Related Scripture: Paul says that Elohim is calling back the 10 Tribes Romans 9:21-26 Has not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel to honor, and another to dishonor? 22 What if Elohim, willing to show His wrath, and to make His power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction: 23 And that He might make known the riches of His glory on the vessels of mercy, which He had before prepared for glory, 24 Even us, whom He has called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles? 25 As He said also in Hosea I will call them My people, which were not My people; and her beloved, which was not beloved. 26 And it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said to them, You are not My people; there shall they be called the children of the living Elohim. When they fall away He will cast them out of the Land Leviticus 26:36-39 And on them that are left alive of you I will send a faintest of hearts in the lands of their enemies; and the sound of a shaken leaf shall chase them; and they shall flee, as fleeing from a sword; and they shall fall when none pursues. 37 And they shall fall one on another, as it were before a sword, when none pursues: and you shall have no power to stand before your enemies. 38 And you shall perish among the heathen, and the land of your enemies shall eat you up. 39 And they that are left of you shall pine away in their iniquity in your enemies' lands; and also in the iniquities of their fathers shall they pine away with them. Related Scripture: Sins of the forefathers adds to the wrath of Elohim Exodus 20:4-6 You shall not make to you any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: 5: You shall not bow down yourself to them, nor serve them: for I dedi your Elohim am a jealous Elohim, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generation of them that hate Me; 6: And showing mercy to thousands of them that love Me, and keep My commandments. Comment: This speaks of generational curses that come as a result of the sins of our forefathers. This can be canceled by repenting of our sins and the sins of our forefathers just as Daniel did in the exile in Babylon. Related Scripture: Daniel confesses the sins of his forefathers Daniel 9:2-27 In the first year of his reign, I Daniel understood by books the number of the years, of the word of dedi that came to Jeremiah the prophet, that He would accomplish seventy years in the desolations of Jerusalem. 3: And I set my face to Adonai Elohim, to seek by 12

prayer and supplication, with fasting, and sackcloth, and ashes: 4: And I prayed to dedi my Elohim, and made my confession, and said, O Adonai, the great and dreadful Elohim, keeping the Covenant and mercy to them that love Him, and to them that keep His commandments; 5: We have sinned, and have committed iniquity, and have done wickedly, and have rebelled, even by departing from Your precepts and from Your judgments: 6: Neither have we listened to Your servants the prophets, which spoke in Your name to our kings, our princes, and our fathers, and to all the people of the land. 7: O Adonai, righteousness belongs to You, but to us confusion of faces, as at this day; to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to all Israel, that are near, and that are far off, through all the countries where You have driven them, because of their trespass that they have trespassed against You. 8: O Adonai, to us belongs confusion of face, to our kings, to our princes, and to our fathers, because we have sinned against You. 9: To Adonai our Elohim belong mercies and forgiveness, though we have rebelled against Him; 10: Neither have we obeyed the voice of dedi our Elohim, to walk in His laws, which He set before us by His servants the prophets. 11: Yes, all Israel have transgressed Your Torah, even by departing, that they might not obey Your voice; therefore the curse (Allah) is poured on us, and the oath that is written in the Torah of Moses the servant of Elohim, because we have sinned against Him. 12: And He has confirmed His words, which He spoke against us, and against our judges that judged us, by bringing on us a great evil: for under the whole heaven has not been done as has been done on Jerusalem. 13: As it is written in the Torah of Moses, all this evil is come on us: yet we made not our prayer before dedi our Elohim, that we might turn from our iniquities, and understand Your truth. 14: Therefore has dedi watched on the evil, and brought it on us: for dedi our Elohim is righteous in all His works which He does: for we obeyed not His voice. 15: And now, O Adonai our Elohim, that has brought Your people forth out of the land of Egypt with a mighty hand, and has gotten You renown, as at this day; we have sinned, we have done wickedly. 16: O Adonai, according to all Your righteousness, I ask You, let Your anger and Your fury be turned away from Your city Jerusalem, Your holy mountain: because for our sins, and for the iniquities of our fathers, Jerusalem and Your people are become a reproach to all that are about us. 17: Now therefore, O our Elohim, hear the prayer of Your servant, and his supplications, and cause Your face to shine on Your Sanctuary that is desolate, for Adonai's sake. 18: O my Elohim, incline Your ear, and hear; open Your eyes, and behold our desolations, and the city which is called by Your name: for we do not present our supplications before You for our righteousness, but for Your great mercies. 19: O Adonai, hear; O Adonai, forgive; O Adonai, hearken and do; defer not, for Your own sake, O my Elohim: for Your city and Your people are called by Your name. 20: And while I was speaking, and praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before dedi my Elohim for the holy mountain of my Elohim; 21: Yes, while I was speaking in prayer, even the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, being caused to fly swiftly, touched me about the time of the evening sacrifice. 22: And he informed me, and talked with me, and said, O Daniel, I am now come forth to give you skill and understanding. 23: At the beginning of your supplications the commandment came forth, and I am come to show you; for you are greatly beloved: therefore understand the matter, and consider the vision. 24: Seventy weeks (70 sevens) are determined on your people and on the holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy. 25: Know therefore and understand, that from 13

the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem until the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and sixty and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troubled times. 26: And after sixty and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for Himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the Sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and to the end of the war desolations are determined. 27: And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured on the desolate. Daniel prayed, asking forgiveness for his sins and also the sins of his forefathers. He prayed this prayer after he understood Jeremiah's prophecy of the seventy years of captivity and that the exile in Babylon was almost over. This also should be our prayer since we are now aware that our exile is almost over. The sins of the fathers must be confessed before we can return to the land. This seems strange to us since we have always believed that we are only responsible for our own sins. We can see from Daniel that, this is not the case. Also notice that verse eleven (Daniel 9:11) says that a curse (aw-law') is poured out on us because we have not kept His commandments. The Hebrew word for curse is pronounced the same as the name of the god of Islam. Daniel's prayer describes our situation today. We as a nation have abandoned the commandments that were given at Mount Sinai. We have even broken the commandment that was the sign of being in Covenant with Him. We have not honored the Sabbath but have changed the set apart day to Sunday, the day of the sun god. Daniel 9:11 Yes, all Israel have transgressed Your Torah, even by departing, that they might not obey Your voice; therefore the curse is poured on us, and the oath that is written in the Torah of Moses the servant of Elohim, because we have sinned against Him. Curse = imprecation, curse, execration, oath, swearing (s# 423 dl`) (aw-law') The Land will enjoy its Sabbaths Leviticus 26:40-44 If they shall confess their iniquity, and the iniquity of their fathers, with their trespass which they trespassed against Me, and that also they have walked contrary to Me; 41 And that I also have walked contrary to them, and have brought them into the land of their enemies; if then their uncircumcised hearts are humbled, and they then accept of the punishment of their iniquity: 42 Then will I remember My Covenant with Jacob, and also My Covenant with Isaac, and also My Covenant with Abraham will I remember; and I will remember the land. 43 The land also shall be left of them, and shall enjoy her Sabbaths, while she lies desolate without them: and they shall accept of the punishment of their iniquity: because, even because they despised My judgments, and because their soul abhorred My statutes. 44 And yet for all that, when they are in the land of their enemies, I will not cast them away, neither will I abhor them, to destroy them utterly, and to break My Covenant with them: for I am dedi their Elohim. 14

Jot and Tittle: Matthew 5:17-19 : Think not that I am come to destroy the Torah, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. 18 For truly I say to you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the Torah, until all is fulfilled. 19 Whoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men to, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. (ref. Monty Judah Lion Lamb Ministries) Leviticus 26:42 [I will remember My Covenant with Jacob and also My Covenant with Isaac, and also My Covenant with Abraham will I remember, and I will remember the Land.] Jacob s name is spelled different: Jacob (aewri) This is one of only five places in the Scripture where Jacob's name is spelled with a vaw (e); conversely, Elijah's name appears five times without a vaw (e ) (dil`) instead of (edil`). It is said that Jacob took a "pledge" from Elijah, as it were, and will return the missing letters to him when he heralds the coming of Messiah and the beginning of the thousand year reign. (Rashi). The Sages believe that this chapter refers to the first exile to Babylon and Deuteronomy 28 refers to the second exile by the Romans. 15

The Second Exile to the nations by Rome Deuteronomy 28: 36 dedi shall bring you, and your king which you shall set over you, to a nation which neither you nor your fathers have known; and there shall you serve other gods, wood and stone. Deuteronomy 28:63-66 And it shall come to pass, that as dedi rejoiced over you to do you good, and to multiply you; so dedi will rejoice over you to destroy you, and to bring you to nought; and you shall be taken from off the land where you go to possess it. 64 And dedi shall scatter you among all people, from one end of the earth even to the other; and there you shall serve other gods, which neither you nor your fathers have known, even wood and stone. 65 And among these nations shall you find no ease, neither shall the sole of your foot have rest: but dedi shall give you there a trembling heart, and failing of eyes, and sorrow of mind: 66 And your life shall hang in doubt before you; and you shall fear day and night, and shall have none assurance of your life: Related Scripture: How do we know that we are pleasing dedi I John 2:3-6 And hereby we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. 4: He that said, I know Him, and and do not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5: But whoever keeps His word, in him truly is the love of Elohim perfected: that we know that we are in Him. 6: He that says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk, even as He walked. Related Scripture: We must obey Messiah to be His people Matthew 7:13-27 Enter in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leads to destruction, and many there are that go in there: 14: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leads to life, and few there are that find it. 15: Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. 16: You shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? 17: Even so every good tree brings forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree brings forth evil fruit. 18: A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. 19: Every tree that brings not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. 20: Therefore by their fruits you shall know them. 21: Not everyone that says to Me, Adonai, Adonai, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that does the will of My Father which is in heaven. 22: Many will say to Me in that day, Adonai, Adonai, have we not prophesied in Your name? and in Your name have cast out devils? and in Your name done many wonderful works? 23: And then will I say to them, I never knew you: depart from Me, you that work iniquity. 24: Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man, which built his house on a rock: 25: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat on that house; and it did not fall: for it was founded on a rock. 26: And everyone that hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, shall be 16

like a foolish man, which built his house on the sand: 27: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat on that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it. Israel is brought out of Egypt because of the Covenant with Abraham Leviticus 26:45-46 But I will for their sakes remember the Covenant of their ancestors, whom I brought forth out of the land of Egypt in the sight of the heathen, that I might be their Elohim: I am dedi. 46 These are the statutes and judgments and laws, which dedi made between him and the children of Israel in mount Sinai by the hand of Moses. Making a vow for the benefit of the Tabernacle Leviticus 27:1-8 And dedi spoke to Moses, saying, 2 Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them, When a man shall make a singular vow, the persons shall be for dedi by your estimation. 3 And your estimation shall be of the male from twenty years old even to sixty years old, even your estimation shall be fifty shekels of silver, after the shekel of the Sanctuary. 4 And if it is a female, then your estimation shall be thirty shekels. 5 And if it is from five years old even to twenty years old, then your estimation shall be of the male twenty shekels, and for the female ten shekels. 6 And if it is from a month old even to five years old, then your estimation shall be of the male five shekels of silver, and for the female your estimation shall be three shekels of silver. 7 And if it is from sixty years old and above; if it is a male, then your estimation shall be fifteen shekels, and for the female ten shekels. 8 But if he is poorer than your estimation, then he shall present himself before the priest, and the priest shall value him; according to his ability that vowed shall the priest value him. Comment: Vows of value of Human beings are related to their age and sex. This is related to the number of years they could work. This is the same for the value of land that was sold. The value of the land depended on the number of years until the year of Jubilee, meaning the number of crops that could be harvested before the land was returned to the original owner. This value was set so that if a person changed his mind and wanted to redeem what he had vowed, he could pay the value of the item plus one fifth. Stone Edition Chumash (page ) Here the Torah speaks of a specific form known as (jxr), which, for a lack of an exact English equivalent, we translate as valuation. This vow involves the holiness inherent in the individual Jew, (person) the value of a soul, as it were. Since there is no market that can assess such a value, and no way for human beings to measure it, the Torah assigns the amounts to be paid, based not on health, strength, earning capacity, or commercial value of the subject, but solely on his or her age and sex (R Munk). In fulfillment of this kind of vow, one pays a valuation prescribed by the Torah, a payment that goes to the Temple treasury, to be used for maintenance or any other necessary expenditures, as specified in this passage. 17

Giving Animals to the Tabernacle Leviticus 27:9-13 And if it is a beast, that men bring an offering to dedi, all that any man gives of such to dedi shall be holy. 10 He shall not alter it, nor change it, a good for a bad, or a bad for a good: and if he shall at all change beast for beast, then it and the exchange one shall be holy. 11 And if it is any unclean beast, of which they do not offer a sacrifice to dedi, then he shall present the beast before the priest: 12 And the priest shall value it, whether it is good or bad: as you value it, who are the priest, so shall it be. 13 But if he will at all redeem it, then he shall add a fifth part to your estimation. Comment: Vows made to offer animals that can be offered on the Altar can not be redeemed, the vow must be kept. If a person tries to substitute another animal, then both animals belong to dedi. If it is an animal that can not be offered like a donkey or a deer, then the Priest will decide its value and it can be redeemed by paying the value plus one fifth. If a man vows to give his house to the Tabernacle Leviticus 27:14-16 And when a man shall sanctify his house to be holy to dedi, then the priest shall estimate it, whether it is good or bad: as the priest shall estimate it, so shall it stand. 15 And if he that sanctified it will redeem his house, then he shall add the fifth part of the money of your estimation to it, and it shall be his. 16 And if a man shall sanctify to dedi some part of a field of his possession, then your estimation shall be according to the cost of the seed to plant it: an chomer of barley seed shall be valued at fifty shekels of silver. Chomer = a unit of dry measure equal to 300 liters or 65 Imp. gallons (s# 2563 xng) (chomer) Comment: If a man vows to give his house to the Priesthood, the Priest shall access the value of it. If the man wants to redeem it he can pay the value set by the Priest plus one fifth. If a man vows to give his field to the Tabernacle Leviticus 27:17-21 If he sanctify his field from the year of jubilee, according to your estimation it shall stand. 18 But if he sanctify his field after the jubilee, then the priest shall reckon to him the money according to the years that remain, even till the year of the jubilee, and it shall be diminished from your estimation. 19 And if he that sanctified the field will in any way redeem it, then he shall add the fifth part of the money of your estimation to it, and it shall be assured to him. 20 And if he will not redeem the field, or if he has sold the field to another man, it shall not be redeemed any more. 21 But the field, when it goes out in the jubilee, shall be holy to dedi, as a field devoted; the possession of it shall be the priest's. Comment: If a man make a vow to give his field to dedi the Priest shall determine its value according to the amount of seed that is required to plant it. The value is set by the standard of fifty silver shekels to a chomer of seed. If the land required two chomers of seed to sow it then the land would be worth one hundred silver shekels. Since both these items are hard assets, this 18

ratio will always be the same. This means that there will not be a change in the value of either one. Inflation will not affect the value of these assets. Inflation can only affect the value of items that have only perceived value or items that vary in abundance or demand. Once the value is set by the Priest according to the years left until the year of Jubilee, it may be redeemed by the owner by adding one fifth of the value to this amount. The amount needed to redeem it will decrease each year as the Jubilee year approaches. If the owner does not redeem it before the Jubilee year, then it will belong to the Priests forever. If the owner had sold the land to anyone who is not a Priest, then the land will go back to him at the Jubilee without any payment. In the final year of Jubilee when Messiah returns the land will be given back to the descendants of Israel. We will inherit houses we did not build and vineyards we did not plant that had belonged to those who hated dedi. This will be like when Joshua enter the land after the first exodus. If a man gave a field to the Sanctuary it would return to him in the Jubilee Leviticus 27:22-25 And if a man sanctify to dedi a field which he has bought, which is not of the fields of his possession; 23 Then the priest shall reckon to him the worth of your estimation, even to the year of the jubilee: and he shall give your estimation in that day, as a holy thing to dedi. 24 In the year of the jubilee the field shall return to him of whom it was bought, even to him to whom the possession of the land belonged. 25 And all your estimations shall be according to the shekel of the Sanctuary: twenty gerahs shall be the shekel. Comment: If a man bought a field from another person whose family was given the land by dedi and the new temporary owner dedicated the land to dedi. The land would go back to the first owner in the year of Jubilee. The first owner also could redeem the land back from the Priests by paying the present value of the land plus one fifth of this amount. The Firstborn of sheep and ox belong to dedi Leviticus 27:26-29 Only the firstling of the beasts, which should be dedi's firstling, no man shall sanctify it; whether it is ox, or sheep: it is dedi's. 27 And if it is of an unclean beast, then he shall redeem it according to your estimation, and shall add a fifth part to it: or if it is not redeemed, then it shall be sold according to your estimation. 28 Notwithstanding no devoted thing, that a man shall devote to dedi of all that he has, both of man and beast, and of the field of his possession, shall be sold or redeemed: every devoted thing is most holy to dedi. 29 None devoted, which shall be devoted of men, shall be redeemed; but shall surely be put to death. comment: The firstborn of the livestock belongs to dedi and should not be vowed to give to Him because it already belongs to Him. If he has a firstborn among unclean animals that he vows to give to dedi, its value will be determined by the Priest and he shall redeem it by paying its value plus one fifth. 19
