2 Then he said to me, These words are faithful and true. Revelation 22:6a, hristian Standard ible

3 FITHFUL N TRUE. These words describe God s Word (Rev. 22:6). s a hristian leader, you want to be faithful and true to the Word that reveals God s character and transforms lives. t LifeWay, we share your commitment to God s Word, and that is why we are delighted to present you with the Gospel of Mark in the new hristian Standard ible (S), a translation that combines accuracy and readability, without compromise. The hristian Standard ible was developed by a team of top biblical scholars from a variety of conservative denominations. s you will see, they have delivered a translation that hits the sweet spot of that balance between fidelity and readability. The Gospel of Mark was my first encounter with the hristian Standard ible. When I began reading through this Gospel, I hoped to experience afresh the good news of Jesus through a translation that communicates ancient truths to a contemporary audience as faithfully and clearly as possible. I wasn t disappointed. y the time I had finished the first chapter, I was already excited to see how the S captured the urgent feel of Mark s narrative. s I read further, I loved seeing how the translation opted for a word-for-word rendering wherever the text was clearly understandable, while also employing a more dynamic translation wherever a wordfor-word approach would obscure the original meaning. s a pastor, I have grown confident in the S s accuracy and precision. It is a text I can use for sermon preparation and serious ible study. I am also confident in the S s readability. ecause it is clear and easy to read, I can share it with people who are new to the Word of God as well as those who are already regular ible readers. We are excited to introduce you to the new hristian Standard ible. s fellow servants of hrist, we stand together with you, trusting that the faithful and true Word of God still changes lives and still empowers God s people to fulfill their mission.
