1 THE GLORY OF GOD Compiled by Lewis Armstrong Exodus 16:7 And in the morning you shall see the glory of the LORD; for He hears your complaints against the LORD. But what are we, that you complain against us? What transpires in the morning? Exodus 16:10 Now it came to pass, as Aaron spoke to the whole congregation of the children of Israel, that they looked toward the wilderness, and behold, the glory of the LORD appeared in the cloud. What was the support that God provided Aaron? Exodus 24:16-17 Now the glory of the LORD rested on Mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days. And on the seventh day He called to Moses out of the midst of the cloud. The sight of the glory of the LORD was like a consuming fire on the top of the mountain in the eyes of the children of Israel. Explain what the children observed? Exodus 40:34 Then the cloud covered the tabernacle of meeting, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle. And Moses was not able to enter the tabernacle of meeting, because the cloud rested above it, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle What filled the tabernacle? Numbers 14:21 but truly, as I live, all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the LORD What have you experienced that reflects God' Glory? I Kings 8:11 so that the priests could not continue ministering because of the cloud; for the glory of the LORD filled the house of the LORD. What prohibited the priest from carrying out their duties? 1

2 2 Chronicles 7:1-3 Solomon had finished praying, fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of the LORD filled the temple. And the priests could not enter the house of the LORD, because the glory of the LORD had filled the LORD s house. When all the children of Israel saw how the fire came down, and the glory of the LORD on the temple, they bowed their faces to the ground on the pavement, and worshiped and praised the LORD, saying: For He is good, For His mercy endures forever. What was the effect of the Glory of God? Psalm 24:8 Who is this King of The LORD strong and mighty, The LORD mighty in battle. How is the God of Glory described? Psalm 29:2-3 Give unto the LORD the glory due to His name; Worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness. The voice of the LORD is over the waters; The God of glory thunders; The LORD is over many waters. What is the importance of Psalm 84:11 For the LORD God is a sun and shield; The LORD will give grace and glory; No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly. What happens when we walk uprightly? Psalm 113:4 The LORD is high above all nations, His glory above the heavens. Where else is God's Psalm 138:5 Yes, they shall sing of the ways of the LORD, For great is the glory of the LORD. What is the magnitude of God's Isaiah 2:19 They shall go into the holes of the rocks, And into the caves of the earth, From the terror of the LORD And the glory of His majesty, When He arises to shake the earth mightily. What will God's glory do? Isaiah 3:8 For Jerusalem stumbled, And Judah is fallen, Because their tongue and their doings are against the LORD, To provoke the eyes of His glory. What will evil do? 2

3 Isaiah 6:3 And one cried to another and said: Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of hosts; The whole earth is full of His glory! How could the earth be full of God's Isaiah 35:2 It shall blossom abundantly and rejoice, Even with joy and singing. The glory of Lebanon shall be given to it, The excellence of Carmel and Sharon. They shall see the glory of the LORD, The Excellency of our God. In good times, people will see what? Isaiah 42:8 I am the LORD, that is My name; And My glory I will not give to another, Nor My praise to carved images. What is God implying? Isaiah 58:8 Then your light shall break forth like the morning, Your healing shall spring forth speedily, And your righteousness shall go before you; The glory of the LORD shall be your rear guard. What will God do? Isaiah 60:1-2 Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the LORD is risen upon you. For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and deep darkness the people; But the LORD will arise over you, and His glory will be seen upon you. What will be seen on the people? Ezekiel 1:28 Like the appearance of a rainbow in a cloud on a rainy day, so was the appearance of the brightness all around it. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the LORD. How was there a likeness of the Glory? Ezekiel 10:4 Then the glory of the LORD went up from the cherub, and paused over the threshold of the temple; and the house was filled with the cloud, and the court was full of the brightness of the LORD s glory. What happened in the house? 3

4 Ezekiel 10:18-9 Then the glory of the LORD departed from the threshold of the temple and stood over the cherubim. And the cherubim lifted their wings and mounted up from the earth in my sight. When they went out, the wheels were beside them; and they stood at the door of the east gate of the LORD s house, and the glory of the God of Israel was above them. What was the Glory of God demonstrated? Ezekiel 11:23 And the glory of the LORD went up from the midst of the city and stood on the mountain, which is on the east side of the city. From where did God's glory start? Ezekiel 43:4 And the glory of the LORD came into the temple by way of the gate which faces toward the east. Describe how the glory of the Lord moved. Ezekiel 43:5 The Spirit lifted me up and brought me into the inner court; and behold, the glory of the LORD filled the temple. How did the temple have the glory of God? Habakkuk 2:14 For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, As the waters cover the sea. What will the earth be filled with? Zechariah 2:3-5 3 And there was the angel who talked with me, going out; and another angel was coming out to meet him, 4 who said to him, Run, speak to this young man, saying: Jerusalem shall be inhabited as towns without walls, because of the multitude of men and livestock in it. 5 For I, says the LORD, will be a wall of fire all around her, and I will be the glory in her midst. What will God do? Mark 8:38 For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him the Son of Man also will be ashamed when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels. How will Jesus come again? Luke 2:9 And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid. What would elevate one's fear? 4

5 II Corinthians 3:18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord. What will the saved be doing? Ephesians 1:17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, What does the Father of Glory give us? Philippians 2:11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. How is confession related to God's 2 Thessalonians 1:7-9 7 and to give you who are troubled rest with us when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, 8 in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power, What will God do with the disobedient? II Peter 3:18 but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen. Why is Peter saying that grace and knowledge related to God's Revelation 4:11 You are worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power; for You created all things, And by Your will they exist and were created. Why is God to receive Revelation 19:1 After these things I heard a loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, saying, Alleluia! Salvation and glory and honor and power belong to the Lord our God! What four things belongs to the Lord? What does the Glory of God mean to you? 5
