Pick-A-Dreidel is back! Only a few weeks until Hanukkah, and we have four charities and many children whose lives need to be brightened by a Hanukkah gift. These children are in foster care after being abused or neglected, living in poverty, or they or their families are trying to cope with serious illness. Pick a dreidel from the board by the office and follow the directions, or contact Karen Scharf (kjscharf@yahoo.com) or Jennifer Kohn (greenearthmom@optonline.net) for more info or to donate a $25 gift card. We are also seeking donations of new gloves, hats or scarves for 18 children, ages 5 to 17. Happy Hanukkah! Challah4You? Fresh, kosher, weekly challah, only $5 each. Pick up on Thursday evening or during the day on Friday. Dates: 11/30, 12/7, 12/14, 12/21, 1/4, 1/11, 1/18, 1/25. (No pickups when school is closed 11/23, 12/28). Make your check payable to SHJC. SHJC Hanukkah Boutique - Hanukkah themed items will be for sale during Religous School hours (4:30-7PM) on Thursday, December 7. Your child will be able to purchase inexpensive Hanukkah gifts for the entire family. Younger siblings are welcome to shop as well. Prices range from $1-$7! Questions? Saturday, December 16, Shabbatasana: Sisterhood invites you to a Shabbat Yoga Spiritual Alternative on Shabbat morning from 10:30 AM - Noon; stay for the Shabbat Kiddush following with the congregation. Experience how Shabbat Shaharit and yoga philosophies are aligned, and how together they raise our spiritual awareness. Our own Sisterhood member and certified yoga instructor, Ilene Ferber, will help us through the poses as Judith Kunoff focuses our meditation on phrases from Shabbat morning prayers, resulting in a special spiritual Shabbat experience. This Shabbat Yoga Spiritual alternative can be completely enjoyed from your mat on the floor or while sitting on a chair. While looser, relaxed clothes are invited, because it is Shabbat, please dress with your "Shabbat best" yoga attire.
