REPEAT, REPEAT, REPEAT You may notice that some of the videos or small group activities repeat questions; that s not an accident! What s in the Bible? is a Biblical literacy curriculum that seeks to help children know the stories of the Bible, and how those stories were formed. Review and repetition are central to helping children understand the Bible. MUSIC IDEAS A few ideas for incorporating music into the What s in the Bible? lessons: Use the songs and music videos to sing along to in between Video 2 / Small Group 2 and Video 3 / Small Group 3. Or, add your favorite song after each small group activity! You might also use the What s in the Bible? songs as children are walking in or out of the classroom, or as quiet music during small group activities. MAKE IT YOUR OWN! What s In the Bible? gives you the freedom to customize your own curriculum. That means you have the ability to change, edit, remove or add anything you want to make this lesson a perfect fit for your children s ministry. If you have a template that you use every weekend, feel free to copy and paste the Leaders Guide into your template. Have fun customizing this lesson! It can be used as a tool for remembering what each child shares each week, so that you can follow-up in future weeks. 3 VIDEO 2 / SMALL GROUP 2 Supplies: Do You Know About the Bible? Video, 2 Smarter than Clive & Ian Scorecards, 2 Pens Teacher Note: This game is intended to reinforce content covered in the video. PLAY: Video 2 Divide the group into 2 teams. Give each team 1 Clive & Ian Scorecard, and 1 Marker or Pen. SAY: Today we are going to test our knowledge of the Bible with a game called (use a loud voice) Are you Smarter than Clive & Ian? Here s how to play the game. I will ask a question, it might be a 100 point question, or 200 point question, 300 point question, or 400 point question. Once I ve asked the question, 1 person on your team can write the answer on your scorecard. If you get the answer right, you can circle the answer and add that number of points to your total. Video, Choose One Method for Drawing: White Board, Paper or Chalkboard and One Drawing Instrument: Crayon, Marker, Chalk or Pen Teacher Note: This game is intended to reinforce content covered in the video. PLAY: Video 3 SAY: Today we are going to test our knowledge of the Bible with a game called Buck Denver s Dizzy Doodle. I will ask the group a question; if you answer the question correctly you can then draw a portion of today s picture. The picture is a mystery! Let s see how quickly we can guess the picture! Sitting around the white board, ask the children the following questions. Choose one child to answer each question. After a question has been answered, give the dry erase maker to the child who answered the question. That child can then draw one piece of Buck Denver s News Room. For large classrooms, split the group into several teams. Each team takes turns answering the questions and drawing their own pictures. QUESTIONS 1. Take time to answer and discuss each question with your small group. At the end of this time, take prayer requests and lead a time of prayer with your group. PLAY: Video 4 SAY: Let s play Bible What s It? I will divide you into 2 teams. You can work with your team to answer each question. The team who answers the most questions correctly wins!
