3 MOSES CONFRONTS PHARAOH, (AGAIN) Exodus 7:1-13

4 ISAIAH 7:14 Therefore, the Lord Himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive, have a son, and name him Immanuel.

5 1 PETER 3:18 For Christ also suffered for our sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, that He might bring you to God.

6 Go ahead, enjoy singing about and celebrating the birth of the Savior... but don't forget this earth-shaking truth: The birth of the Baby in the manger was the thrilling signal that God had invaded the planet. And that gives us real reason to celebrate Christmas. CHARLES COLSON

7 The very purpose of Christ's coming into the world was that he might offer up his life as a sacrifice for the sins of men. He came to die. This is the heart of Christmas. BILLY GRAHAM

8 EXODUS 6:7 I will take you as My people, and I will be your God. You will know that I am Yahweh your God, who delivered you from the forced labor of the Egyptians.

9 EXODUS 7:1-2 The Lord answered Moses, See, I have made you like God to Pharaoh, and Aaron your brother will be your prophet. You must say whatever I command you; then Aaron your brother must declare it to Pharaoh so that he will let the Israelites go from his land.

10 EXODUS 7:3-4 But I will harden Pharaoh s heart and multiply My signs and wonders in the land of Egypt. Pharaoh will not listen to you, but I will put My hand on Egypt and bring the divisions of My people the Israelites out of the land of Egypt by great acts of judgment.

11 EXODUS 7:5 The Egyptians will know that I am Yahweh when I stretch out My hand against Egypt, and bring out the Israelites from among them.

12 EXODUS 7:6-7 So Moses and Aaron did this; they did just as the Lord commanded them. Moses was 80 years old and Aaron was 83 when they spoke to Pharaoh.

13 EXODUS 7:8-9 The Lord said to Moses and Aaron, When Pharaoh tells you, Perform a miracle, tell Aaron, Take your staff and throw it down before Pharaoh. It will become a serpent.

14 EXODUS 7:10 So Moses and Aaron went in to Pharaoh and did just as the Lord had commanded. Aaron threw down his staff before Pharaoh and his officials, and it became a serpent.

15 EXODUS 7:11-12 But then Pharaoh called the wise men and sorcerers the magicians of Egypt, and they also did the same thing by their occult practices. Each one threw down his staff, and it became a serpent. But Aaron s staff swallowed their staffs.

16 EXODUS 7:13 However, Pharaoh s heart hardened, and he did not listen to them, as the Lord had said.

17 OBSERVATIONS TO CONSIDER 1. Moses and Aaron chose obedience.

18 EXODUS 7:6, 10 So Moses and Aaron did this; they did just as the Lord commanded them. So Moses and Aaron went in to Pharaoh and did just as the Lord had commanded.

19 ACTS 24:25 Now as he spoke about righteousness, selfcontrol, and the judgment to come, Felix became afraid and replied, Leave for now, but when I find time I ll call for you.

20 1 JOHN 5:3 For this is what love for God is: to keep His commands. Now His commands are not a burden, because whatever has been born of God conquers the world. This is the victory that has conquered the world: our faith.

33 LUKE 18:13-14 But the tax collector, standing far off, would not even raise his eyes to heaven but kept striking his chest and saying, God, turn Your wrath from me a sinner! I tell you, this one went down to his house justified rather than the other; because everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the one who humbles himself will be exalted.
