5 Ephesians 1:13-14 And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession--to the praise of his glory.

6 Ephesians 4:30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

7 WHAT: DEFINITION OF SEAL An ancient device, usually a signet ring or cylinder seal engraved with the owner s name or with some design, used to seal goods, show ownership, attest documents, or impress an early form of trademark (ZPEB, vol. 5, p.319).

8 SEAL OF JEZEBEL Jezebel placed King Ahab s seal on her letters concerning Naboth (1 Kings 21:8).

9 AUTHORITY So King Ahasuerus said to Queen Esther and to Mordecai the Jew..."Now you write to the Jews as you see fit, in the king's name, and seal it with the king's signet ring; for a decree which is written in the name of the king and sealed with the king's signet ring may not be revoked."he wrote in the name of King Ahasuerus, and sealed it with the king's signet ring, and sent letters by couriers on horses, riding on steeds sired by the royal stud. 11 WHY: SOURCE OR ORIGIN Then I saw in the right hand of him who sat on the throne a scroll with writing on both sides and sealed with seven seals. Revelation 5:1

12 ELIGIBILITY Revelation 5:1-3 I saw in the right hand of Him who sat on the throne a book written inside and on the back, sealed up with seven seals. And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, "Who is worthy to open the book and to break its seals?" And no one in heaven or on the earth or under the earth was able to open the book or to look into it.

17 SIGN OF AUTHORITY/PROTECTION Revelation 7:1-3 After this I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding back the four winds of the earth, I saw another angel ascending from the rising of the sun, having the seal of the living God; and he cried out with a loud voice to the four angels to whom it was granted to harm the earth and the sea, saying, "Do not harm the earth or the sea or the trees until we have sealed the bond-servants of our God on their foreheads."

23 WHEN? When We believe the gospel Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit Ephesians 1:13b

24 WHEN? When We become a child of God Because you are sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, "Abba, Father." So you are no longer a slave, but a son; and since you are a son, God has made you also an heir. Galatians 4:6-7

29 WHY? AUTHENTICATION Even though I may not be an apostle to others, surely I am to you! For you are the seal of my apostleship in the Lord. 1 Corinthians 9:2

30 AUTHENTICATION Romans 15:28 Therefore, when I have finished this, and have put my seal on this fruit of theirs, I will go on by way of you to Spain.

31 AUTHENTICATION 2 Timothy 2:19 Nevertheless, the firm foundation of God stands, having this seal, SHIP ON ISRAELITE SEAL "The Lord knows those who are His," and, "Everyone who names the name of the Lord is to abstain from wickedness."

These were written in the name of King Xerxes himself and sealed with his own ring. Esther 3:12
