14 A D 4 8 A D 4 9 PAUL S FIRST MISSIONARY JOURNEY (Acts 11:25-26; 13-15) From Antioch Paul, Barnabas & John Mark begin their 1 st journey. They travel to Cypress & Perga John Mark leaves Paul & Barnabas at Perga & returns to Jerusalem (see Acts 13:13). After Perga, Paul & Barnabas journey to Antioch in Pisidia, Iconium, Lystra & Derbe Agrippa II (see Acts 25) made king of Chaleis. 15 PAUL S SECOND MISSIONARY JOURNEY (Acts 15:1-18:22) Paul and Barnabas attend the "Council of Jerusalem" (see Acts 15). Caraetaeus captured by the Romans in Britain. Cogidunus (Father of Claudia?, See 2 Tim. 4:21) assists the Romans in Britain Second missionary journey begins. Paul and Barnabas travel to Antioch. At Antioch, split between Paul & Barnabas over John Mark. Paul & Silas goes to Tarsus, Derbe, Lystra, Iconium & Antioch in Pisidia. Barnabas & John Mark go to Cypress (Cyprus). At Lystra Paul meets Timothy, who accompanies him on the rest of his journey. Paul/Silas/Timothy travel to Troas, Philippi, Thessalonica and Berea (Berea). Jews from Thessalonica come & stir up people against Paul who is sent by sea to Athens. Silas & Timothy stay in Beroea for a time. Timothy later travels to Athens, meets Paul, & is sent to revisit Thessalonica. Paul travels to Corinth & writes 1 Thessalonians. Timothy & Silas are with him. Paul meets Aquila & Priscilla. Claudius expels the Jews from Rome (see Acts 18:2) Paul stays in Corinth and writes 2 Thessalonians. The tetrarchy of Trachonitis given to Agrippa II. Felix made procurator of Judaea Paul, Aquila & Priscilla leave Corinth in the Spring and arrive at Ephesus. Aquila & Priscilla stay in Ephesus as Paul travels on to Jerusalem. 16 PAUL S THIRD MISSIONARY JOURNEY (Acts 18:23-21:17) Paul begins his 3 rd MJ. He leaves Antioch and goes to Ephesus. Priscilla and Aquila are already in Ephesus and make contact with Apollos. After teaching him thoroughly about Christ, they and the brethren send Apollos to Corinth. Paul continues to stay in Ephesus. Paul continues to stay in Ephesus In the Spring at Ephesus Paul writes 1 Corinthians. In Summer he leaves Ephesus for Troas. He proceeds to Philippi. ** Probably wrote 2 Corinthians in Philippi during the Autumn. Titus arrives in the city. In the Winter Paul goes to Corinth, where he writes the book of Galatians. In the Spring Paul writes the book of Romans. Paul leaves Corinth and goes to Philippi and Miletus. In the summer (Pentecost) Paul arrives in Jerusalem. 19 Acts 1 1:1-11 The Ascension of Jesus 1-2 The 1 st account was of what Jesus did & taught 3 After suffering, He appeared to His apostles over 40 days - presented many proofs - spoke about kingdom of God 4-5 Commanded apostles - not to leave Jerusalem but to wait for Father s promise - will be baptized with Holy Spirit not many days from now 6-8 Concerning the Kingdom Q - Are You restoring the kingdom to Israel at this time?
