1 Understanding The Spiritual Man If we want to really understand the deep things, the spiritual things of YHVH, then we must use the power of the Spirit we are given to do it. The natural, physical man cannot understand spiritual things. Abba is so much bigger than we can ever conceive with our limited natural minds. How can a mind, that only understands the physical things around it, understand the spiritual things? We cannot even define and understand everything in this physical world! Job 11:7-8 7 Would you find out Eloah by searching, or search out the end of the Almighty? 8 It is higher than the heavens what would you do? Deeper than the grave what would you know? Our physical minds are limited, our physical bodies are limited we are made from elements of this physical world that Elohim put into place. How were the elements composed? How were they brought into being? How did the dirt get here? How did the atmosphere get here? This world did not just appear with all of these things in place. They were created they were brought into being. People doubt creation, because their limited, physical mind cannot understand or comprehend an Elohim! How foolish and tragic to doubt or dismiss His existence, because of their limited and puny intellect! Man thinks he is so smart and so well educated men pride themselves in their knowledge. They know nothing! They understand nothing apart from the Spirit of Elohim! Job 12: He loosens the bonds of sovereigns, and binds a girdle on their loins; 19 who leads away priests as a spoil, and overthrows the mighty; 20 turning aside the lip of the trusted ones, and takes away the discernment of the elders; 21 pouring scorn on nobles, and loosens the girdle of the strong; 22 revealing deep matters out of darkness, and He brings the shadow of death to light; 23 making nations great, and He destroys them; spreading out the nations, and He leads them out. 24 turning aside the heart of the chiefs of the people of the earth, and He makes them wander in a pathless waste. 25 They grope in darkness, having no light, and He makes them stagger like a drunkard. If we do not understand the spiritual man, how can we be prepared for the return of Yeshua? How can we be among the firstfruits and part of the little flock? We are to become the spiritual man while we still inhabit this body of flesh, this physical shell. We are to be transformed now, in this physical life, so that we are prepared and ready to meet Yeshua when the firstfruits are harvested. Ya acov (James) understood this.

2 James 1: Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no change, nor shadow of turning. 18 Having purposed it, He brought us forth by the Word of truth, for us to be a kind of first-fruits of His creatures. The B rit Chadashah is about living Torah spiritually. We MUST make the transition from physical people and from a strictly physical observance of Torah, to being a spiritual people and to living Torah spiritually. Yeshua taught us to observe Torah spiritually He gave us an example He lived it. Torah becomes a part of us and a part of who we are. Sha ul understood what it meant to live in the spirit. Philippians 2:5-8 5 For, let this mind be in you which was also in Messiah,יהושע 6 who, being in the form of Elohim, did not regard equality with Elohim a matter to be grasped, 7 but emptied Himself, taking the form of a servant, and came to be in the likeness of men. 8 And having been found in fashion as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient unto death, death even of a stake. What is Sha ul telling us here in Philippians? If we just read through this, on the surface we understand that he is telling us to have the mind of Yeshua how does that come about? How can we have the mind of Yeshua? It is through Ruach HaKodesh the Set-Apart Spirit of YHVH that we are given to help us understand the things of YHVH the deep things, the spiritual things. Yeshua, in the flesh, thought with a spiritual mind and saw through spiritual eyes! What else is Sha ul telling us here there is more... Notice what Sha ul tells us about Yeshua beginning in verse 7. Yeshua had to empty Himself; He had to humble Himself, to come in the likeness of men. He had to give up something to inhabit a fleshly body. He was in a form of Elohim (spirit) and he emptied Himself to come in a body of flesh! He set the example for us He showed us how to be the spiritual man in a body of flesh. Sha ul understood this he explains it for us here! It IS IMPORTANT that we understand these things! It is part of preparing for the return of Yeshua, so that we are ready to take our place with Him! Luke 5: And no one puts new wine into old wineskins, otherwise the new wine shall burst the wineskins and run out, and the wineskins shall be ruined. 38 But new wine is put into fresh wineskins, and both are preserved. 39 And no one, having drunk old wine, immediately desires new wine, for he says, The old is better. The wineskins represent the physical person. The wineskins were made from goatskin; the skin is the outward shell that the physical person exists in. Wine is representative of

3 blood and it is the blood that contains the life (Leviticus 17:10-14). New wine represents new life (new blood). We cannot put the new wine (life) into an old wineskin (physical person). We are to be transformed and changed. We have to be emptied of the person that we were and become a new person in Yeshua. Our old life is not compatible with the new life that YHVH wants us to live. We cannot put the new life that He offers us into the old person (wineskin) that we were. The old person is not able to contain it! We have to become a new person (wineskin), to hold the new life. When new wine (life) is poured into an old wineskin, it will burst and the new wine (life) runs out leaving nothing but an empty, deflated shell. When the new wine (new life) is put into a new wineskin (new person), both are preserved! When we go from the old person that we were, to being a new person who has been transformed and has the Ruach living inside of us, we will be preserved! We will be prepared and ready to enter the Kingdom of Elohim. We have to think using the spiritual mind we are given through the Ruach. We have to see through the spiritual eyes we are given through the Ruach just like Yeshua showed us through His example and through the words that He spoke. We cannot understand anything otherwise we can have a superficial understanding we can understand things on the surface, but we will never be able to look an deeper without becoming the spiritual man. 1 Corinthians 2: For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the spirit of the man that is in him? So also, the thoughts of Elohim no one has known, except the Spirit of Elohim. 12 And we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit that is from Elohim, in order to know what Elohim has favourably given us, 13 which we also speak, not in words which man s wisdom teaches but which the Set-apart Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual matters with spiritual matters. 14 But the natural man does not receive the matters of the Spirit of Elohim, for they are foolishness to him, and he is unable to know them, because they are spiritually discerned. 15 But he who is spiritual discerns indeed all matters, but he himself is discerned by no one. 16 For Who has known the mind of?יהוה Who shall instruct Him? But we have the mind of Messiah. Here is another important concept that Sha ul explains to us. If we try to understand spiritual things with our natural mind, the mind of the world, it will NOT work! We can understand NOTHING with our natural mind, except for the things in this world the limited physical things. If we want to understand our Abba, then we can only do that through the Ruach HaKodesh that we are given to open up our understanding!

4 We MUST have the Spirit of Elohim to even begin to understand what it is that we have been given! How can the natural (physical) mind compare spiritual matters with spiritual matters? That is HOW we are to RIGHTLY divide the word of truth! That is HOW we ARE to discern! It takes the spiritual mind! We have to become the spiritual man! I PRAY that you understand and SEE this! The natural man cannot understand the things of Elohim because they MUST be SPIRITUALLY DISCERNED!! Abba tells us in His own words through the prophet Isaiah, that our minds cannot understand His ways how can we dispute and ignore what He plainly tells us? Isaiah 55:8-9 8 For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways, declares.יהוה 9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts. Those who rely on their own intellect and understanding are stuck in a physical mindset and foolishly believe that they can comprehend spiritual things using their limited physical minds! Sadly, they are deceived PLEASE do NOT be deceived by those who have shown through their fruits to have no spiritual discernment and understanding what can you hope to learn from someone like that? Jude 1: In the same way, indeed, these dreamers defile the flesh, and reject authority, and speak evil of esteemed ones. 9 But Mi a l the chief messenger, in contending with the devil, when he disputed about the body of Mosheh, presumed not to bring against him a blasphemous accusation, but said, יהוה rebuke you! 10 But these blaspheme that which they do not know. And that which they know naturally, like unreasoning beasts, in these they corrupt themselves. 11 Woe to them! Because they have gone in the way of Qayin, and gave themselves to the delusion of Bil am for a reward, and perished in the rebellion of ora. Notice what it says in verse 10 that which they know naturally they follow their natural mind. There is no discernment, no understanding Do NOT be deceived and do NOT get caught up in the web of deception and lies. The adversary desires to divide and destroy the people of YHVH. If we are struggling and if we are having trouble understanding then WHO should we turn too? Should we not turn to Abba and use the discernment and understanding that we receive through the Ruach to find the answer? Acts 20:25-31

5 25 And now see, I know that you all, among whom I went about proclaiming the reign of Elohim, shall see my face no more. 26 Therefore I witness to you this day that I am clear from the blood of all. 27 For I kept not back from declaring to you all the counsel of Elohim. 28 Therefore take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, among which the Set-apart Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the assembly of Elohim which He has purchased with His own blood. 29 For I know this, that after my departure savage wolves shall come in among you, not sparing the flock. 30 Also from among yourselves men shall arise, speaking distorted teachings, to draw away the taught ones after themselves. 31 Therefore watch, remembering that for three years, night and day, I did not cease to warn each one with tears. There is a serious warning here! We need to pay attention! They come from among yourselves it takes discernment it takes wisdom it takes the spiritual mind. May Ruach HaKodesh of our Elohim burn brightly within you and may you seek the wisdom, guidance and understanding that ONLY comes, through His Spirit.
