BRIGHT STAR COMMUNITY CHURCH John 4: 24 NIV God is spirit and his worshipers must worship him in spirit and in truth.
Romans 12: 1-2 NIV 1Therefore, I urge brothers and sisters, in view of God mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God s will is his good, pleasing and prefect will.
The Webster dictionary states worship is to honor or reverence as a divine being or super natural power. To regard with great or extravagant respect and honor or devotion.
1 Peter 2:4,5 NIV As you come to him, the living stone-rejected by humans but chosen by God and precious to him 5 You also like living stones are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
True Worship begins in the heart of a believer for as we recognize His awesomeness in our lives, it brings us peace which surpasses all understanding, rest and joy that only He can give to us.
Luke 22: He withdrew about a stone's throw beyond them, knelt down and prayed, 42 "Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done." 43 An angel from heaven appeared to him and strengthened him. NIV
Gen 22:12-14 NIV Do not lay a hand on the boy he said do not do anything to him now I know that you fear God because you have not withheld from me your son, your only son.
Acts 16:24,26 NIV Upon receiving such orders, he put them in the inner cell and fastened their feet in the stocks. About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly there was a violent earthquake that the foundation of the prison were shaken. At once all the prison doors fell open and everybody chain came loose
Luke 7:36-39 When one of the Pharisees invited Jesus to have dinner with him, he went to the Pharisee s house, so she came there with an alabaster jar of perfume. As she stood behind him at his feet weeping, she began to wet his feet with her tears. Then she wiped them with her hair, kissed them and poured perfume on them.
Matthew 26:6-9 KJV references how precious the ointment was in the alabaster box. 6Now when Jesus was in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper, 7 There came unto him a woman having an alabaster box of very precious ointment, and poured it on his head, as he sat at meat. 8 But when his disciples saw it, they had indignation, saying, to what purpose is this waste? 9 For this ointment might been sold for much and given to the poor.
God wants us to live a life of holiness in order to enjoy all the benefits of being called his children.
Psalm 22: NIV 27 All the ends of the earth will remember and turn to the Lord and all the families of the nations will bow down before him, 28 for dominion belongs to the Lord and he rules over the nation.
A heart of True Worship will surely transform your life!
