2 Course/Module description: The course focuses on the inner and external political processes and developments that occurred in different states over the world throughout the 20th century. The background to these developments are the immense and vast changes in all fields of the human experience which took place during the 20th century, most notably changes in the political map of the world and the big political revolutions. The course will encompass these events through a comparative approach. Course/Module aims: The objective of the course is to describe and analyze political, social and cultural phenomena and events which took place throughout the 20th century. The course also aims to examine central developments in the field of ideologies and political movements of that period. Apart from the introduction to the political history of the 20th century, it will also try to provide a wider understanding to the background of current political events. Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to: 1. Describe political phenomena and events of the 20th century. 2. Analyzing political and historical processes. 3. Comparing between states and political forms while understanding the way in which a countrys evolution contributed to their current state. 4. Criticizing political and historical processes 5. Applying the understanding of historical developments on current events.
