1 Monthly Summary February 1 February saw a substantial decline in the number of terror attacks: 11 attacks as opposed to 189 in January 1. The decline was prominent in Judea and Samaria: 11 attacks, as opposed to 16 in January, while 1 of them occurred in "Jerusalem Envelope" 1. The Gaza Strip had a record of attacks as opposed to 16 in January. Jerusalem saw a slight rise of 9 attacks as opposed to in January. Israelis were lightly injured this month: a citizen was stabbed near Damascus Gate in Jerusalem (9 Feb.) and IDF soldiers (6 Feb.) were targeted by firebombs when riding a bus near Migdalim junction, south of Nablus (Samaria). Data regarding terror attacks in February 1 Following is a regional distribution of attacks: attack from the Gaza Strip (16 in January); 11 attacks in the Judea and Samaria (16 in January); 9 attacks in Jerusalem ( in January). 4 High-trajectory launchings from Gaza Strip and Sinai Throughout February 1 9 rockets were launched** towards Israel, in attacks, as opposed to January: rockets ( from Sinai towards Eilat) and mortar shell launching (in 19 attacks). **Clarification: The number of launchings is the number of rockets/mortar shells actually launched during one high-trajectory fire attack. For example: one attack may include a salvo of three launchings, that is, three rockets/ mortar shells, and so it will be counted as one attack and three launchings.
