2 In this short book, we are going to look at Libertas and find out who she really is. Just so we have a working knowledge of idolatry, let s look at what and idol is: With that being said, an idol is defined as: noun 1. a material object, esp a carved image, that is worshipped as a god 2. Christianity Judaism any being (other than the one God) to which divine honour is paid 3. a person who is revered, admired, or highly loved We also have the origin of this word, so let s take a look at it here: o o o o o mid-13c., "image of a deity as an object of (pagan) worship," from Old French idole "idol, graven image, pagan god," from Late Latin idolum "image (mental or physical), form," used in Church Latin for "false god," from Greek eidolon "appearance, reflection in water or a mirror," later "mental image, apparition, phantom,"also "material image, statue," from eidos "form" (see - oid). Figurative sense of "something idolized" is first recorded 1560s (in Middle English the figurative sense was "someone who is false or untrustworthy"). Meaning"a person so adored" is from 1590s. From the origins of the word, you see the words pagan, false god, statue, so we can correctly infer that and idol is NOT a good thing that a Christian should be looking at or dealing with. The Lord has given strict instructions about idols as you can see in scripture here: Leviticus 26:1 - Ye shall make you no idols nor graven image, neither rear you up a standing image, neither shall ye set up any image of stone in your land, to bow down unto it: for I am the LORD your God. Deuteronomy 5:9 - Thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me, The devil knows this, so he sets up idols so the worship will go to HIM, as this is what he wanted from the time when iniquity was found in him. Worship means that much to the devil, and he will do anything he can to get those creations of the Lord to give HIM their worship. 2

3 So what is worship? Worship is a public show of deep respect and devotion towards someone or something that you are in awe of/have full admiration for that you show profound, intense love and honour to in recognition of the qualities of holiness, excellence and wisdom. As you already know, the Lord is not sharing his worship with anyone, and the sole purpose of an idol is to get people, who are built to worship the Lord, to worship a substitute. The devil puts idols around everyone because he knows that human beings will worship anything. With that being said, let s find out who Libertas really is. From Wikipedia: Libertas (Latin for Liberty) is the Roman goddess and embodiment of liberty. In addition, money throughout history has borne the name or image of Libertas. Libertas was pictured on Galba's "Freedom of the People" coins during his short reign after the death of Nero. The University of North Carolina records two instances of private banks in its state depicting Libertas on their banknotes; Libertas is depicted on the 5, 10 and 20 Rappen denomination coins of Switzerland. OK, fair enough, but as you know, these deities have many names, and for this deity, she also goes by the following names: Europa, Semiramis, Ishtar, Anat, Asherah, Isis, Juno, Minerva, Aphrodite, Venus, Athena, and many others. Well, then, do these names look familiar? Is Libertas really Ishtar or Semiramis, who birthed Tammuz, who is the same deity that Easter (Astarte) is derived from? Let s keep reading from Wikipedia: Libertas, along with other Roman goddesses, has served as the inspiration for many modern-day symbols, including the Statue of Liberty on Liberty Island in the United States. According to the National Park Service, the Statue's Roman robe is the main feature that invokes Libertas and the symbol of Liberty from which the Statue derives its name. 3

The older and newer forms of her cult and rites, and their diverse associations, persisted well into the late Imperial era. St. Augustine (AD ) observes that Libera is concerned with female fertility, as Liber is with male fertility. 4

So we can see that we can link Libertas to Libera, who was part of a fertility cult, just like Simeramis. Libertas means Freedom in Latin, but freedom from what?

Let s look up what fertility cults did and what they stood for before we go forward. From Wikipedia: A fertility deity is a god or goddess associated with sex, fertility, pregnancy, and childbirth. In some cases these deities are directly associated with these experiences; in others they are more abstract symbols. Fertility rites may accompany their worship. Christian, this goddess Libertas took a little digging to find, but as we see, this goddess is a rehash of Semiramis and Ishtar, who all are a part of the company of fertility goddesses (and there are many). So let s recap what we know about Libertas: Libertas was the name of an ancient Roman goddess adopted by the Romans perhaps as early as the 5th century BC and certainly by the 4th Century BC. Libertas was referred to as the goddess of personal freedom and liberty. Libertas promoted the ideals for the personal freedom to do anything that felt good. She was called the matron goddess of prostitution because she promoted sexual freedom. Indeed, she had invented the concept. Slaves considered her their goddess in the hopes of winning their freedom. Many women who gained freedom later turned to prostitution to survive and thereby retained Libertas as their goddess, especially if they became priestesses in the Libertas cult. Libertas was also a goddess of war in order to fight for freedom. She was also referred at times as the goddess of victory because freedom must have victory in order to survive. This goddess was also the goddess of immigrants. Now you know, Christian, that Libertas was everything to do with sex and fertility. 5

6 OK, with that being said, we have Columbia and the Statue of Liberty which we know is patterned after Libertas. Columbia is an idol that we see all of the time, so let s see what Wikipedia has to say about her: Columbia (/kəˈlʌmbiə/; kə-lum-bee-ə) is the personification of the United States. It was also a historical name used by some Europeans and Americans to describe the Americas, the New World. It is also a name given to the "Spirit of the Frontier" of which was used to illustrate manifest destiny among several other American political causes. It has given rise to the names of many persons, places, objects, institutions and companies, e.g. Columbia University, the District of Columbia (the national capital of the United States) and the ship Columbia Rediviva, which would give its name to the Columbia River. Images of the Statue of Liberty largely displaced personified Columbia as the female symbol of the United States by around 1920, although Lady Liberty was seen as an aspect of Columbia. The District of Columbia is named after the personification, as is the traditional patriotic hymn Hail Columbia, which is the official vice presidential anthem of the United States Vice President. 6

7 Columbia is a New Latin toponym in use since the 1730s for the Thirteen Colonies. It originated from the name of Italian explorer Christopher Columbus and from the ending -ia, common in Latin names of countries (paralleling Britannia, Gallia and others). Especially in the 19th century, Columbia was visualized as a goddess-like female national personification of the United States and of liberty itself, comparable to the British Britannia, the Italian Italia Turrita and the French Marianne, often seen in political cartoons of the 19th and early 20th century. This personification was sometimes called Lady Columbia or Miss Columbia. Such iconography usually personified America in the form of an Indian queen or Native American princess. The image of the personified Columbia was never fixed, but she was most often presented as a woman between youth and middle age, wearing classically-draped garments decorated with stars and stripes. A popular version gave her a red-andwhite-striped dress and a blue blouse, shawl, or sash, spangled with white stars. Her headdress varied and sometimes it included feathers reminiscent of a Native American headdress while other times it was a laurel wreath, but most often it was a cap of liberty. So what we are seeing is that the United States is patterned after freedom, but its ruling deity is a woman that was a part of a fertility cult and prostitution. Is it any wonder that the United States is known as the whore or Babylon (as Libertas is the Roman version of Ishtar, who was a Babylonian goddess)? 7

8 What does the Bible have to say about the Whore of Babylon? Revelation 14:8 - And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication. We just learned that Libertas, whom the Statue of Liberty is patterned after, was a part of a fertility cult, and the practices included prostitution in other words, this goddess was a whore. Being a whore, there was definitely fornication, as this is what whores do fornicate. It is interesting to see in the above Biblical passage that the whole world drinks of the whore s fornication, and also drinks of the wine of the wrath God s wrath of her fornication. In other words those who fornicate with the whore will suffer the wrath that goes against the whore. Revelation 18:2 - And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. This scripture, once you put together who the whore of Babylon is, makes a good case for the United States of America as the whore of Babylon that will be destroyed at a future date. This is speculation on my part, but this book is to get you to think about the evidence and then go to Jesus to confirm what you have read. So what I am going to do is to is to show you Libertas as she was then and what she has morphed into now. There is a very striking resemblance, don t you think? 8

The State of Liberty creator was a freemason, so that should tell you right there that the Lord had NOTHING to do with any of this. What is more interesting is that this statue is a deity over the United States, and many people worship this statue as something good and pure, since it represents freedom, not knowing that this statue represents a goddess from a fertility cult, where sex, and doing what you want is the representation. Could we absolutely say that the statue of Liberty is the Whore of Babylon? Do you think that the Babylon in the Bible is the United States that will fall and be no more at a future date? 9

Rest assured, Christian, you are worshipping this idol, as your country is represented by this idol.

Many of you have a small Statue of Liberty on your desk or mantle, and you are unaware that you are worshipping an idol.

How many people actually delve into things like this to find out for sure what they are worshipping? Rest assured, Christian, you are worshipping this idol, as your country is represented by this idol. Whenever you say the pledge of allegiance, you are worshipping this idol AND you are pledging allegiance to it. The flag is a smaller representation of this idol. Many of you have a small Statue of Liberty on your desk or mantle, and you are unaware that you are worshipping an idol. Here is scripture as a reminder: Leviticus 26:1 - Ye shall make you no idols nor graven image, neither rear you up a standing image, neither shall ye set up any image of stone in your land, to bow down unto it: for I am the LORD your God. Deuteronomy 5:9 - Thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me, Without the Lord Jesus Christ, we are doomed because we have been forced into accepting an idol as our representative in the spiritual realm. Now that you know that your country is steeped in idol worship and goddess worship, get with the Lord Jesus Christ today and make SURE you have discuss with Him on how you are going to deal with this, as your very salvation depends on what you do. 10

11 As always, take NOTHING that you have seen here in this book as the truth. It is YOUR responsibility to study and check out everything that you see and hear, and you have an advocate in the Lord Jesus Christ who will help you if you would just ask Him. Take this upon yourself, Christian, as YOU need to get YOUR Bible, YOUR concordance, YOUR dictionary, YOUR pens/pencils, YOUR notepad and then YOU need to seek out the Lord Jesus Christ and ask Him to help YOU so YOU can make it into His Kingdom, since it will be YOU standing alone in front of Jesus when YOU are being judged. It is YOUR responsibility to make sure YOU are in the faith and that YOU have completed YOUR sanctification during the sanctification process and YOU have gotten YOUR forgiveness and YOU have repented of all of YOUR sins before YOU are judged by Jesus. Scripture tells us that hell will enlarge itself to accommodate all of the people who will be sent there because of idols like the pope, as you can see in scripture here: Isaiah 5:14 - Therefore hell hath enlarged herself, and opened her mouth without measure: and their glory, and their multitude, and their pomp, and he that rejoiceth, shall descend into it. Take this as a warning, Christian, as the Lord Jesus Christ is NOT desperate for people, as there were only 8 people who got on the ark before the flood, and only 2 people from the Hebrews from Egypt made it into the Promised Land. Be wise, and stay IN Jesus so you are not lost. 11

12 Here is Our Challenge to all of you: We challenge you to go to Jesus directly RIGHT NOW and ask Him if what is shown here is true. Use this as a means to start a conversation with The Lord Jesus Christ and sit with Him and ask Him questions. Start with (asking out loud): Jesus, is what I just read true? He will answer you, Christian; use this as an opportunity to start the conversation with the Lord Jesus Christ. Keep talking with Him. Get to know Him and He will start to reveal Himself to you. You need to find out for yourself if what you support or believe is true, and what better way to find out than to ask the Lord Himself? You need to find out for yourself and work out YOUR salvation for YOU, as the scriptures tell us to. 12
