3 Acts 9:1-2 (NIV) Saul... went to the high priest and asked him for letters to the synagogues in Damascus, so that if he found any there who belonged to the Way, whether men or women, he might take them as prisoners to Jerusalem. Acts 9:3-6 (NIV) Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me? Who are you, Lord? When Saul asked who was speaking to him, the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: then he really trembled and was astonished, but quickly said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, arise, go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do. 3

4 Acts 9:11-12 (NIV) The Lord told him (Ananias), Go to the house of Judas on Straight Street and ask for a man from Tarsus named Saul, for he is praying. In a vision he has seen a man named Ananias come and place his hands on him to restore his sight. Acts 9:13-14 (NIV) Lord, Ananias answered, I have heard many reports about this man and all the harm he has done to your saints in Jerusalem. And he has come here with authority from the chief priests to arrest all who call on your name. 4

5 Acts 9:15-16 (NIV) But the Lord said to Ananias, Go! This man is my chosen instrument to carry my name before the Gentiles and their kings and before the people of Israel. I will show him how much he must suffer for my name. 5

6 Acts 9:20 (NIV) At once he began to preach in the synagogues that Jesus is the Son of God. 6

7 Gal. 1:15-17 (NIV) But when God, who set me apart from birth and called me by his grace, was pleased to reveal his Son in me so that I might preach him among the Gentiles, I did not consult any man, nor did I did go up to Jerusalem to see those who were apostles before I was, but I went immediately into Arabia and later returned to Damascus. Gal 1:18-19 (NIV) Then after three years, I went up to Jerusalem to get acquainted with Peter and stayed with him fifteen days. I saw none of the other apostles only James, the Lord s brother. 7

8 Gal 1:13-14 (TLB) You know what I was like when I followed the Jewish religion how I went after the Christians mercilessly, hunting them down and doing my best to get rid of them all. I was one of the most religious Jews of my own age in the whole country and tried as hard as I possibly could to follow all the old, traditional rules of my religion. Gal 1:15-16 (TLB) But then something happened! For even before I was born, God had chosen me to be his and called me what kindness and grace to reveal his Son within me so that I might go to the Gentiles and show them the Good News about Jesus. 8

10 Acts 9:16 I will show him how much he must suffer for my name. Suffering develops character of a high order. Heb. 5:8 Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered. 10

11 2 Cor. 11: In stripes above measure, in prisons more frequent... Of the Jews five times received I forty stripes save one. Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck... In danger of robbers... in hunger, thirst, cold and nakedness. 2 Cor. 11:28 Beside those things that are without, that which cometh upon me daily, the care of all the churches. 11

12 Acts 16:9 (NIV) During the night Paul had a vision of a man of Macedonia standing and begging him, Come over to Macedonia and help us. 12

15 Epaphroditus almost died helping Paul March 8 th Manna When the time for rewards will come, who knows how much of the usefulness of Paul and Apollos may be accredited to some of the humble ones, such as Aquila and Priscilla, who in various ways ministered to and supported their abler brethren in the Lord s work. 15

16 Eph 4:15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ. Acts 10:34... God is no respecter of persons. 16

25 2 Tim. 4:6-7 (NLT) As for me, my life has already been poured out as an offering to God. The time of my death is near. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful. 2 Tim. 4:8 (NLT) And now the prize awaits me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on the day of his return. And the prize is not just for me, but for all who eagerly look forward to his appearing. 25
