The K. S. (King Solomon) Industries Theological Resource List Judeo-Christian theology is a complex study and an unending search for God s Truth. It is literally impossible to read all of the tomes given to the study, interpretation, commentary, and exegesis of God s Word. Throughout history, theologians have attempted to understand Scripture, as well as the writings of early church scholars, early Jewish scholars, and rabbinic sages. The books presented here are in Dr. Warren s personal library of over 750 Bible-related books and resources, researched and studied over the past 30 years. These selected few are merely a jot representation of the plethora of important works available for serious theological exploration of Scripture; but they are a fair representation of quality scholarship in their respective areas. You will see, that there is no specific doctrinal or denominational slant in the repertoire, and the books are not listed in any specific ranking, other than theological categories. No one is viewed as 100% wrong and no one is viewed as 100% correct. I sincerely believe we all have important pieces of the truth. The difficult task is separating the wheat from the chaff and finding His truth in the gifts given to these God-fearing scholars. Vanita Lynn Warren Biblical Hebrew Language Resources ****Excellent Resources for true beginners. 3 Helpful Biblical Hebrew Resources Etymological Dictionary of Biblical Hebrew: Based on the Commentaries of Samson Raphael Hirsch by Matityahu Clark (Author) This dictionary, based on the commentaries of Rabbi Samson Raphael Hirsch, is a monumental work and guide to understanding the Biblical commentary of Rabbi Hirsch. This work analyzes the deep concepts inherent in Hebrew, the Divine language, revealing how every word's root contains connotations essential to a greater understanding of Torah A Comprehensive Etymological Dictionary of the Hebrew Language for Readers of English (Hebrew Edition) by Ernest Klein (Author) A clear and concise work on the origins of the Hebrew words and their sense development. Each of the c. 32,000 entries is first given in its Hebrew form, then translated into English and analysed etymologically, using Latin transcription for all non-latin scripts. An indispensable source of biblical, Jewish, modern Hebrew and Near Eastern studies. Intermediate to Advanced Biblical Hebrew Language Resources Biblia Hebraica Stuttgartensia: A Reader's Edition (Hebrew Edition) (Hebrew) by Donald A. Vance (Author), George Athas (Author), Yael Avrahami (Author) A helpful language reference tool for students, pastors, and scholars. The BHS Reader's Edition is for those who have a basic understanding of Biblical Hebrew and desire to read and study the Hebrew Bible. With this book alone (and a year of Hebrew), students are able to read the Hebrew Bible in its entirety. The Brown-Driver-Briggs (BDB) Hebrew and English Lexicon by F Brown (Editor), S.Driver (Editor), C.Briggs (Editor) by S.Driver (Editor), C.Briggs (Editor) F Brown (Editor) (Author) KSI BIBLICAL HEBREW RESOURCES 3

Williams Hebrew Syntax, Third Edition 3rd Edition by John C. Beckman (Author) Although the morphology and lexicon of Hebrew are reasonably well understood, its syntax has long been a neglected area of study. Syntax, the relationship of words to one another, forms, together with morphology, the material of grammar. Its relative importance varies according to the language considered. This is particularly true of word order, for when an inflected language loses its case endings, word order assumes many of the functions of the former cases. This outline by Professor Williams re-emphasizes the significance of word order in Hebrew. Developed over fifteen years in a formal course on Hebrew syntax at the University of Toronto, it treats the syntax of the noun, the verb, particles and clauses, with a selection of illustrative examples. A Practical Grammar for Classical Hebrew, 2nd Edition (English and Hebrew Edition) 2nd Edition by J. Weingreen (Author) Gesenius' Hebrew Grammar (Dover Language Guides) by Gesenius (Author), E. Kautzsch (Editor), A. E. Cowley (Translator) "Stands alone as the definitive reference work on Hebrew grammar." Ancient Hebrew Studies Center For almost a century, Gesenius' Hebrew Grammar has proven to be one of the most comprehensive works on Hebrew, covering all aspects of the language, including historical background, pronunciation, etymology, syntax, and sentence structure. Generally recognized as the most useful and authoritative reference grammar for Biblical Hebrew, the text includes indices of Hebrew words, subjects, and Biblical passages as well as an extremely valuable appendix listing paradigms. A Workbook for Intermediate Hebrew: Grammar, Exegesis, and Commentary on Jonah and Ruth by Robert B. Chisholm (Author) Designed to engage the Hebrew text and reinforce patterns and principles of Hebrew grammar and syntax, this resource expertly guides intermediate Hebrew students. Answers to all questions are provided, and both a useful parsing guide and glossary are also included. KSI BIBLICAL HEBREW RESOURCES 4

An Introduction to Biblical Hebrew Syntax by Bruce K. Waltke (Author), M. O'Connor (Author) Meeting the need for a textbook for classroom use after first year Hebrew grammar, Waltke and O'Connor integrate the results of modern linguistic study of Hebrew and years of experience teaching the subject in this book. In addition to functioning as a teaching grammar, this work will also be widely used for reference and self-guided instruction in Hebrew beyond the first formal year. The Englishman's Greek Concordance of New Testament: Coded with Strong's Concordance Numbers by George V. Wigram (Author) This improved and revised edition of the standard reference work The Englishman's Greek Concordance features a new, larger format that makes referencing even easier. Coded to Strong s, it gives the reader with no knowledge of Greek unprecedented insight into the New Testament Greek. An invaluable tool for unearthing the rich meaning of the biblical language. A Concise Hebrew and Aramaic Lexicon of the Old Testament Hardcover January 7, 1972 by William L Holladay (Author, Editor) Strictly alphabetical listing of words written in Hebrew letters, followed by some inflectional forms of the word, its English meaning, and relevant chapter and verse citations from the Bible. Style And Structure In Biblical Hebrew Narrative Paperback February 1, 2001 by Jerome T. Walsh (Author) The ancient narrators used a variety of stylistic devices to structure, to connect, and to separate their tales - and thus to establish contexts within which meaning comes to light. What are these devices, and how do they guide our reading and our understanding of the text? Style and Structure in Biblical Hebrew Narrative explores some of the answers and shows scriptural interpretation can be a matter of style." KSI BIBLICAL HEBREW RESOURCES 5

The Ancient Hebrew Lexicon of the Bible by Jeff A. Benner (Author) All previous Biblical Hebrew lexicons have provided a modern western definition and perspective to Hebrew roots and words. This prevents the reader of the Bible from seeing the ancient authors' original intent of the passages. This is the first Biblical Hebrew lexicon that defines each Hebrew word within its original Ancient Hebrew cultural meaning. One of the major differences between the Modern Western mind and the Ancient Hebrew's is that their mind related all words and their meanings to a concrete concept KSI BIBLICAL HEBREW RESOURCES 6

Biblical Greek Resources Manual of Theology by John L. Dagg (Author) First printed in 1857 by the Southern Baptist Publication Society. In its time, the volume was originally designed for the use of those who didn t have the time and opportunity to study larger works on theology; however, today, it s nothing less than excellent scholarship.
