1 Lulav Vaarava 5659 Ranat Class #20 Atzilus 1 In the Hemshech - Shuva Yisroel, Lulav, and Shemini Atzeres explain what would have happened if middos hadin alone would have created the world. Bereishis, Lech Lecha and Vayera explain what happens when Din is mixed with Rachamim. Shuva Yisroel, the third maamar, describes the best kind of Din, higher than Rachamim. The more hidden Hashem is, the more Free Will there is for man. But if Hashem becomes too hidden, we will stop looking for Him. Lulav Vaarava, the fourth Maamar, the midas HaDin is lower than Midas harachamim (Atzilus). The Maamar discusses Atzilus. Atzilus is the closest thing ti G-d that isn't G-d. Atzilus is Giluy Elokus. Giluy is 1) to a Zulas 2) the Zulas gets it 3)the Zulas determines what to give. Etzem isn't revealed, it is to itself alone. Atzilus is as much of a revelation as there can be. Ranat Class #21 Atzilus 2 Is our Maamar based of the Pardes' view of Atzilus or on the Etz Chaim's view? Atzilus is Oros 1 / 5

2 Ain Sof (bli gvul) and Kelim that are g'vul. How can this be reconciled. PARDES - This is the RaMaK: the world was created with 2 tools - 1) Oros are completely p'shitus, and 2) kelim that are g'vul. The Oros hit the kelim and the kelim are elevated a bit to a state of Koach Hagvul. The Kelim give the Ohr is form. The moshol is of water in a colored glass. Memale Kol Olmin is a modified form of Sovev. ETZ CHAIM - This is the Arizal. The world is created with three tools. 1) the Shoresh of kelim is in Atzmus mamash. 2) the Shoresh of Ohr Memale is in Ohr Ain Sof. 3) the Shoresh of Sovev Kol Olmin is in Giluy Ohr Ain Sof. The Moshol for Atzilus is hishlabshus Nefesh in a Guf. Memale and Sovev have two separate roots, so Achilifu D'chtaya is possible.as the Ohr hits the keli it fits exactly and the keli brings down the ohr. Dira B'tachtonim. So in our maamar which shita is followed? The Rebbe Rashab is using the moshol of a nefesh in a guf, but defines the ohr as water in a colored glass. The Rebbe calls the kochos of the nefesh not as etzem but as nafshiim, a haora, pshitus, consistent with the Pardes. Most of the Rebbe Rashab/s maamarim follow the Pardes, for example the samech vav, and RaNaT. Ayin Beis follows the Etz Chaim. i. e there are 3 Tools, from three separate sources. The light itself has tziur. It still uses the moshol of Nefesh in a guf, but it is different from RaNaT. Ranat Class #22 Moshol for Olam HaBeriah is Dibbur A moshol for Olam HaBeriah is Dibbur - Tzimtzum. The Nefesh is an Atzmi that is it exists only for itself. But in order to function in the world, in the guf, there needs to be Giluy HaNefesh to 2 / 5

3 the guf. Every Giluy HaNefesh requires Letters. Every level, Taanug, Ratzon, Chochma, Bina, Dibbur each have their own set of letters. The Difference between Machshava and Dibbur: Machshava is to yourself, the concept is the important part, not how it is expressed. Dibbur is to another person, here the how it is expressed is more important. Dibbur becomes a Moshol for creation. The chitzonius becomes more important than the pnimius. Ranat Class #23 כל הנקרא בשמי וכבודי בראתי יצרתי ועשיתי Sh'mi goes on Atzilus. K'vodi goes on Malchus of Atzilus, Dibbur and Yesh MeAyin. Speech vs Thought: a) we speak intermittently, b) Speech goes out of you, and 3)the Letters themselves are less aidel than letters of thought. Usually the moshol for YESH MeAyin is Dibbur (Speech) plus Parsa. Three kinds of Tzimtzum: 1) Tzimtzum ha Rishon - Take away all the light (Ohr Ein Sof). The Kav breaks through to get in. The Kav is higher than the Ohr Ein Sof, and higher than the tzimtzum, a brand new strong light. 2) Tzimtzumim - make the light less, the moshol used is usually Dibbur. the created world would be Atzilus like. 3) Parsa - changes the m'hus of the light - it scrambles the letters - Osios bilti sedorim. The worlds no longer get chayas from letters, words, sentences, paragraph, and essays. Instead all the letters are mixed up. But they are Hashem's Letters and each has tremendous Koach. 3 / 5
