2 We are in a Spiritual Battle for Our Minds and Hearts. Ephesians 6:10-18 Romans 12:1-2 2 Corinthians 10:3-5

4 Like Israel, the Victory is Not Fully Realized so that Our Faith May Be Tested and Grow.

5 So Joshua took the entire land, in keeping with all that the LORD had told Moses. Joshua then gave it as an inheritance to Israel according to their tribal allotments. After this, the land had rest from war. Joshua 11:23 Joshua was now old, advanced in age, and the Lord said to him, You have become old, advanced in age, but a great deal of the land remains to be possessed. Joshua 13:1

7 [The Lord said] I gave you a land you did not labor for, and cities you did not build, though you live in them; you are eating from vineyards and olive groves you did not plant. Therefore, fear the Lord and worship him in sincerity and truth. Get rid of the gods your fathers worshiped beyond the Euphrates River and in Egypt, and worship the Lord. But if it doesn t please you to worship the Lord, choose for yourselves today: Which will you worship the gods your fathers worshiped beyond the Euphrates River or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living? As for me and my family, we will worship the Lord. Joshua 24:11-15

8 At that time Ephraim failed to drive out the Canaanites who were living in Gezer, so the Canaanites have lived among them in Gezer. Zebulun failed to drive out the residents of Kitron or the residents of Nahalol, so the Canaanites lived among them and served as forced labor. Judges 1:29-30

9 I will no longer drive out before them any of the nations Joshua left when he died. I did this to test Israel and to see whether or not they would keep the Lord s way by walking in it, as their fathers had. The Lord left these nations and did not drive them out immediately. He did not hand them over to Joshua. Judges 2:21-23 The Lord your God will drive out these nations before you little by little. You will not be able to destroy them all at once; otherwise, the wild animals will become too numerous for you. Deuteronomy 7:22

10 After them another generation rose up who did not know the Lord or the works he had done for Israel. Judges 2:10

11 THE FIRST COMMANDMENT You shall have no other gods. What does this mean? We should fear, love, and trust in God above all things.

12 THE THIRD COMMANDMENT Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. What does this mean? We should fear and love God so that we do not despise preaching and His Word, but hold it sacred and gladly hear and learn it.

13 Like Israel, We Sin and Cannot Rescue Ourselves. We Daily Need to Return to the Lord. After them another generation rose up who did not know the LORD or the works he had done for Israel. The Israelites did what was evil in the LORD s sight. They worshiped the Baals and abandoned the LORD, the God of their fathers, who had brought them out of Egypt. They followed other gods from the surrounding peoples and bowed down to them. They angered the LORD, for they abandoned him and worshiped Baal and the Ashtoreths. Judges 2:10-13

18 Like the Judges, God Raised Up King Jesus Who Delivered Us and Is Delivering Us. [Christ] himself bore our sins in his body on the tree; so that, having died to sins, we might live for righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed. For you were like sheep going astray, but you have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls. 1 Peter 2:24-25
