5 These proverbs will give insight to the simple, knowledge and discernment to the young. Let the wise listen to these proverbs and become even wiser. Let those with understanding receive guidance by exploring the meaning in these proverbs and parables, the words of the wise and their riddles. PROVERBS 1 : 4 6 4

6 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.... The knowledge of the holy is understanding. PROVERBS 9:10, k j v

7 Commit yourself to instruction; listen carefully to words of knowledge. PROVERBS 23:12

8 My child, listen to me and do as I say, and you will have a long, good life. I will teach you wisdom s ways and lead you in straight paths. When you walk, you won t be held back; when you run, you won t stumble. Take hold of my instructions; don t let them go. Guard them, for they are the key to life. PROVERBS 4 :

9 My child, pay attention to what I say. Listen carefully to my words. Don t lose sight of them. Let them penetrate deep into your heart, for they bring life to those who find them, and healing to their whole body. PROVERBS 4 :

10 Wise words are like deep waters; wisdom flows from the wise like a bubbling brook. PROVERBS 18:4

11 Plans go wrong for lack of advice,. many advisers bring success. PROVERBS 15:22

12 Two things I ask of you, Lord; do not refuse me before I die: Keep falsehood and lies far from me; give me neither poverty nor riches, but give me only my daily bread. Otherwise, I may have too much and disown you and say, Who is the Lord? Or I may become poor and steal, and so dishonor the name of my God. PROVERBS 30 : 7 9, niv 11

13 Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise! It has no commander, no overseer or ruler, yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest. How long will you lie there, you sluggard?... A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest and poverty will come on you like a thief. PROVERBS 6 : 6 11, niv 12

14 Better a dry crust eaten in peace than a house filled with feasting and conflict. PROVERBS 17:1

15 Dishonest scales are an abomination to the Lord, but a just weight is His delight. PROVERBS 11:1, n k j v

16 If your enemies are hungry, give them food to eat. If they are thirsty, give them water to drink. You will heap burning coals of shame on their heads, and the Lord will reward you. PROVERBS 25 :

17 People may be right in their own eyes, but the Lord examines their heart. The Lord is more pleased when we do what is right and just than when we offer him sacrifices. PROVERBS 21 :

18 Who can find a virtuous and capable wife? She is more precious than rubies. PROVERBS 31:10

19 18 I, Wisdom, live together with good judgment. I know
