These are: When he is entrusted with something, he betrays trust; when he speaks, he lies; when he promises, he acts treacherously; and when he argues, he behaves in a very imprudent, insulting manner [Bukhari] The MCA Constitution Committee and over 10% of the members of MCA have petitioned to hold a vote on an updated MCA Constitution. A previous vote on the draft constitution received 76% YEA votes, however the required quorum was not met. This draft constitution maintains that President of the MCA shall be male, while the rest of the board members can be male or female. The MCA Executive Committee has resolved that balloting can commence up to 48 hours prior to the formal physical assembly of the General Body meeting to facilitate a conclusive yea or nay vote on the draft constitution. 10 KIDS CORNER The Night Journey to the Heavens Do you ever remember riding a roller coaster, and feel as if you were flying? Now imagine what it would feel like if the roller coaster was actually a flying, winged horse-like-animal? Our beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW) actually experienced it. Many, many moons ago, it was the 27th night of Rajab, 10 years after nubuwwah, when Angel Jibreel visited Rasulallah (SAW) in the middle of the night. Rasulallah (SAW) realized that it must be a very important message for him. When he got up and looked around, he set his eyes on an animal that was between a horse and a mule but it had wings! Yes, it had wings, its name was Buraq. Rasulallah (SAW) mounted Buraq and accompanied by Angel Jibreel, leaped into the night sky. In a blink of an eye, they had reached Jerusalem. Rasulallah (SAW) prayed two rakats inside Masjid-Al-Aqsa. When he had finished, Angel Jibreel presented to Rasulallah (SAW) two bowls; one filled with milk, and the other filled with wine. Naturally, Rasulallah (SAW) chose the bowl filled with milk. Angel Jibreel said, You have preferred nature. Had you picked up the wine bowl your people would have gone astray. Let s pray to Allah (SWT) to protect us from going astray. Ameen. After that, Rasulallah (SAW) once again climbed Buraq and began the second journey, this time to the Heavens. Now is a better time to introduce these words: Isra and Miraj. The first journey from Makkah to Jerusalem is known as Isra, and means to travel by night. Mi`raj is the second journey where Rasulallah (S) ascended to the Heavens. Continued next week. Stay tuned Do You Know These Words? Because of this, water-borne diseases are rampant in economically depressed areas throughout the world. Water Hand Pumps Donating for the installation of water wells is a sadaqah jaria (or continuous charity), where one may receive rewards for as long as people and wildlife are benefiting from the clean water. You can install hand pumps on behalf of yourself, or on behalf of others including deceased loved one. Hidaya installs water hand pumps in poor areas where the water table is shallow (130 ft or less). The average cost of installing a hand pump, along with maintenance of the hand pump for 5 years is approximately $300. Delivery with Water Tanker Some cities with dense populations lack adequate fresh water because municipalities which should be supplying them are failing due to decaying infrastructure and rising population. For such instances, Hidaya has started delivering water to the masses via water tanker which is filled with fresh water from our own wells.
