Ibu Nurul Qomar,,Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to Brunei Darussalam hosted a reception on 26 August 2014 at Rizqun International Hotel. Representing His Majesty s Government was Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Singamenteri Col. Rtd Dato Seri Setia Dr Awg Hj Md Yasmin Hj Umar, Minister of Energy at the PMO. Her Excellency in her Welcoming Address said that Indonesia and Brunei Darussalam have strong cooperation in regional and international level, especially in ASEAN towards realising the ASEAN Community by end of This year also marked 30 years of diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Brunei Darussalam. 3 MEHFIL-E-MILAD TO MARK HIS MAJESTY S 68 TH BIRTHDAY The Islamic Republic of Pakistan High Commissioner and Mrs Nayyara Malik hosted the Mehfil-e-Milad ceremony, an all woman s only gathering which is an important part of any happy occasion in Pakistan. It was held on 14 September 2014 at His Excellency Pakistan High Commissioner s Residence in Kg Rimba. The event began with a recitation of Surah Al- Fatihah; a Welcoming Speech; Qirat Al-Quran, Darul o Salam and Tausyeh. The guests were later treated to a sumptuous Pakistani dinner. 4 LAUNCHING OF WOMEN ENTREPRENUERS DAY & WBC AWARDS NIGHT The 30 August 2014 was an auspicious day for the Women s Business Council-Brunei Darussalam (WBC). It held three important events that was to mark its 14 th anniversary; launching of the Women Entrepreneur Day and the presentation of the much awaited WBC Excellent Entrepreneur Award. On hand to present the award to Dyg Shamsiah Hj Hidop was Datin Paduka Hajah Adina Othman, Deputy Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports. WBC was founded on 20 June WBC decided it was most appropriate to celebrate the success of women entrepreneurs on this important date by launching this date as the Women Entrepreneurs Day. 6 11 TH MAJLIS SAMBUTAN HARI RAYA AIDIL FITRI Pn Nellie. BLA President was among the guests invited to the Sambutan Hari Raya Aidil Fitri organized by the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Foundation on Saturday 23 August 2014 at the International Convention Centre. Leadership was the theme, to recognise and appreciate the role (of leaders) and to familiarise themselves with the aspirations and wise leadership skills of His Majesty; a visionary leader and model leader who is caring and concerned on the well-being of his citizens, It was attended by over a thousand selected participants made up of current and younger generation leaders from several categories such as the government and private sector, religious institutions and mosques, educational institutions including schools and student leaders as well as community and grassroots leaders. The success of an organisation or group depends on the leaders in all aspects. Effective leaders are those who can lead their subordinates to achieve organisational objectives; the importance of responsibility and leadership role in leading an organisation, association, institution, school, mosque or place of work that they are in charge of. During the event, there were a series of musical performances by 150 students from Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah School followed by a video titled Kepimpinan Melalui Tauladan An exhibition themed Leadership was also put up.
