1 د د Witness document of Belief & Good Deeds for the Deceased From Mafatih al Jinan compiled by Shaykh Abbas al-qummi Shaykh al-ä}s has advised that the following should be written on paper as a document of witness of the belief & knowing only good deeds of the deceased believer. This document is made & signed by one witness & further attested to by 40 believers (who can sign despite their knowledge of faults of the deceased). This document is then folded, put in an envelope and put with the palm-leaf stalk on the right side of the deceased. It is preferably written with camphor (i.e. water with which camphor is mixed). and non-aromatic aloe-wood, must be put on the dead person s forehead It is said that Allah will forgive the deceased for his faults if 40 believers testify in this way. BEFORE signing, the following dua is to be recited by the first witness: In the Name of Allah; the Allbeneficent, the All-merciful. I bear witness that there is no god save Allah, One and Only Lord and having no associate with Him. I also bear witness that MuÅammad is His servant and messenger, May Allah bless him and his Household. 2 د THE INSCRIPTION to be written & kept on the Right side of the dead body with a palm leaf: In the Name of Allah; the Allbeneficent, the All-merciful. 3 Ja far the son of MuÅammad, M}s{ the son of Ja far, Al the son of M}s{, MuÅammad the son of Al, Al the son of MuÅammad, al-âasan the son of Al, and the Rising Argument-person, peace be upon them all; and that Paradise is true, Hellfire is true, the Hour [of Resurrection] shall be coming; there is no doubt about it, and Allah shall resurrect those who are in graves; and that MuÅammad, may Allah bless him and his Household, is Allah s servant and messenger; he has come with the truth, that Al is the representative of Allah, the vicegerent after Allah s Messenger, may Allah s blessings be upon him and his Household, and the one appointed by Allah s Messenger to succeed him in his nation, wa ja faru ibnu muåammadin wa m}s{ ibnu ja farin wa aliyyu ibnu m}s{ wa muåammadu ibnu aliyyin wa aliyyu ibnu muåammadin walåasanu ibnu aliyyin walq{'imu alåujjatu alayhimu alssal{mu wa anna aljannata Åaqqun walnn{ra Åaqqun walss{ ata {tiyatun l{ rayba f h{ wa anna all{ha yab athu man f alqub}ri wa anna muåammadan Äall{ all{hu alayhi wa {lih abduh} wa ras}luh} j{'a bilåaqqi wa anna aliyyan waliyyu all{hi walkhal fatu min ba di ras}li all{hi Äall{ all{hu alayhi wa {lih wa mustakhlafuh} f ummatih م د ح م ب ن ع ف ر ج ف ر ب ن جع م ب ن م ع ع م د ب ن ح م ع ب ن مح م د ع ب ن ن س ٱلح ٱلح جة ٱلقا م ٱلسلا م م عل أ ة ح ق ن ٱلجن ار ح ق ٱلن ٱلساع ة آت ي ة لا ر يب ف ا أ ب ر ٱلق م ن في ي ب ع ث ن ٱالله أ ن آ ي ه عل ٱالله مدا ص مح ده رس عب ق ب ٱلح اء ج ٱالله أ ل يا ن ع ٱالله رس ل ن ب ع د م ل يفة ٱلخ آ ي ه عل ٱالله ص في خ ل ف ه س ت م ت ه أ م
