2 CREATIVITY IS THE PROCESS OF GATHERING AND GENERATING NEW IDEAS Creativity may be defined as idea generation. Being creative is to be able to generate or to come up with ideas. Or even to gather ideas. Creativity is hence a process, or a thinking process to be exact. Creativity comes from the word create. What is created or generated is the idea.

3 INNOVATION IS CREATIVITY IMPLEMENTED. Innovation, on the other hand, can be described as creativity implemented. Innovation is putting the idea into practice. While creativity is a thinking process, innovation is a productive process. Innovation adds value to the idea, which otherwise remains as a mere idea.

5 I was the secretary for the executive community (EXCO) program for the program Light Of Everyone. The details of the program are as attached in the paper work. The main focus of the program is to reach out to the students of University Kebangsaan Malaysia regarding Muslim s beloved prophet, Nabi Muhammad saw. As this program was organized by first year medical students, we decided it would be a great idea to focus more on the prophet s sunnah and its relation to science. That s why the theme of this program is Science beyond Sunnah.

7 As a member of the exco program, it was our responsibility to create an outline of this program that will achieve the objectives. This is where the soft skill creativity comes in. At first there was so many ideas on the ways students can learn and gain information about the importance of science in sunnah. Not only that, after the theoretical part, we wanted to provide an opportunity for the students to put into practice the things they have learned.

10 GIMMICK For the opening night, I was chosen to create a gimmick Usually, we would see a sketch, singing, dancing as a gimmick for any program. It was a norm To be creative, we did a so called poetic conversation In which one a girl and I would recite a poem alternatingly as if it was a conversation. It was recited in English The I had to portray a character that disregards the prophet. The other character encourages to follow the prophet. There were also verses from the Quran and quoted Hadiths By doing this we wanted to create a different and unique way to convey our message in encouraging the participants to follow the sunnah

12 Meal Trays The dinner on the last day of the program was another creative thing my exco and I have come up with. Instead of having a plain and typical dinner eating formally on the table, we decided to eat the dinner in trays (makan bertalam). Having meal trays is one of the sunnah of the prophet. No one was excluded, even the VIP s joined eating in trays. By implementing this, the participants can follow the sunnah. For the science beyond the sunnah part, we explained to the participants the importance of following the eating manner of the Prophet

15 I feel lucky to be one of the member of the exco program because it gives me the opportunity to be creative and think outside the box. It is not easy to organize an event. It requires many soft skills to execute it and creative and innovative is one of it. If we organize a typical program, it might not get responses from the pupils. That s why we need to create something different to attract people. We need to find our red umbrella and be creative. Be something different and make a difference.
