The Application of Al-Uqubat (Penal Code in Islam) in Contemporary Society: A Case Study of Nigeria- This paper written together with a senior colleague and teacher, Dr. K.K. Oloso focuses on the complexity of the implementation of the Islamic criminal law with particular reference to the abuse of human rights in Nigeria. The Appropriation of Islam in Zaynab Al-Ghazzālī s Representations of the Muslim Sisters of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt- This paper focuses on Ayyām min Hayātī, the autobiographical text of the Egyptian Islamist activist, Zaynab al-ghazzālī al-jubaylī ( ) in order to examine how using the Muslim brotherhood s struggles, she was able to give Islamist endorsement to female agency.
