1 Subject: Select List for the posts of Assistant Professor (Psychology) in Higher Education Department Notification No. 41 PSC (DR-S) of 2016 Dated: Whereas, the Higher Education Department referred 30 posts (OM: 15, RBA: 06, SC: 03, ST: 04 & ALC: 02) of Assistant Professor in the discipline of Psychology to the Public Service Commission for being filled up from amongst the suitable candidates; and whereas, the Commission notified these posts vide Notification No. 12-PSC(DR-P) of 2014 dated: ; and whereas, in response to the above notification, 87 candidates had applied, and out of which 64 eligible candidates were shortlisted for interview in pursuance of rules; and whereas, the interview of the eligible candidates was held on 19 th and 20 th December, 2016 at Jammu with the assistance of experts from outside the state; and Now, therefore, on the basis of performance in the interview coupled with the weight-age in respect of academic merit, experience and other related parameters, the Merit of the candidates who appeared in the interview, is enclosed as Annexure-A to this Notification. Consequent upon the above, the Select List of the candidate against the available post is given in Annexure-B to this Notice. Note:- 1. The Commission reserves the right to have certificate/documents of the candidate verified, if it is at any stage found expedient to do so. The Select List is provisional and is subject to the outcome of writ petitions pending before any competent Court of law posts under ALC category remained vacant due to non-availability of eligible candidates, and 01 post under ST category remained vacant as ST category candidate did not cross the bench marks of 40 points for selection.
