1 Childhood Skit Roles: NARRATOR ABDUL-MUTTALIB ABDULLAH AMINA HALEEMAH ABU TALIB Story: Narrator: This scene takes place in Mecca. The Prophet Muhammed(S) was born on 12th Rabi Al Awwal the same year as the event of the elephant. His grandfathter was Abdul-Muttalib[WAVE], his father was Abdullah[WAVE], and his mother was Amina[WAVE]. The prophet (S) father died [ABDULLAH DROPS TO THE FLOOR] while he was on a trade trip and was buried in Madinah[CRAWLS WHILE DEAD TO MADINAH] before he(s) was born. His mother took care of him[pretend TO CRADDLE BABY] for a little and then he was given to Haleemah, who was at first hesitant to take him since he was an orphan[waves HANDS IN HESITATION], but in the end she took him. As soon as she took him, her food started to increase. He stayed with her for 4 to 5 years and then came back to live with his mother, Amina.[HALEEMAH WALKS BACK TO AMINA WHILE PRETENDING TO HOLD HAND OF PROPHET MUHHAMD(S)] When he came back, Amina took him to visit some family in Madina and the grave of her husband, Abdullah. On their way back Amina died.[amina FALLS TO THE FLOOR] His grandfather Abdul-Muttalib[ABDUL- MUTTALIB GOES AND GETS MUHAMMAD(S)] brought the Prophet Muhammed(S) back to Mekkah and took care of him. When the Prophet Muhammed (S) was eight years old his grandfather died [ABDUL-MUTTALIB FALLS TO FLOOR] and he was then given to his uncle Abu Talib[WAVES] to take care of him.

3 Revelation Skit Roles: NARRATOR WARQUA IBN NAWFAL KHADIJA Story: Narrator: This scene takes place in Mecca. Muhammed(S) was an honest man. People trusted him. They gave him their money to buy and sell things for them. A lady named Khadijah[WAVE] lived in Makkah. She was a widow. Muhammed(S) found a job working for her. Everyone who worked with the Prophet Muhammed(S) said he was very honest, fair, and kind. He(S) was very successful in doing business for her. Khadijah was very pleased[smiles]with Muahmmed(S). She said he was a good man and liked his honesty[thumbs UP]. Then one day Khadijah asked Muhammed (S) to marry her. He said yes. So they got married. The Prophet(S) was 25 years old when he got married to Khadijah. Khadijah was older then the Prophet Muhammed(S), Khadijah was 40 years old. They both gave some of their money that they made to the poor. The prophet Muhamemed(S) didn t like the evil ways of his people. He didn t believe in their false gods. He started going to cave Hira to think. At age 40, during Ramadan, the Prophet Muhammed(S) received the revelation through angel Gabriel in cave Hira on Mount An-Nour. Muhammed(S) was afraid. He did not know who the angel was. The Angel came close to Muhammed(S) and said Read. I don t know how to read, Muhammed(S) said. Angel Gabriel said Read. But I don t know how to read, said the Prophet Muhammed (S). Gabriel pressed him close and said: Read! In the name of your Lord who created man from a clot of blood. Read! And your Lord is very generous. He taught man how to write with the pen. He taught man what he did not know. This is from the Quran Surat Al-Alaq(Clot). Muhammed(S) repeated the words. Then Angel Gabriel left him. Muhammed(S) was still scared, he ran down Mount Noor and went home to Khadija. When he got home to Khadija, he told her cover me, cover me[khadija COVERS MUHAMMAD(S)]!! He did not know what was happening and was very scared. Khadija went to ask her cousin[walks TO WARQUA], Warqua ibn Nawfal, what this was. Warqua said this is the same angel that came down to Musa[WARQUA SAYS "THIS IS THE SAME ANGEL THAT CAME DOWN TO MUSA]. Warqua mentioned that many people will be against him when he comes out with his message, and that if he is alive when his message comes out he would definitely follow him[warqua SAYS I WILL FOLLOW YOU IF I AM ALIVE].

5 Roles: KHADIJA ZAID ALI ABU BAKR SUMAYA Life in Mekkah Skit GROUP OF MUSLIMS AL NAJASHI HAMZA UMAR ABU TALIB Story: Narrator: This scene takes place in Mecca. Some of the early people to accept Islam, were from the Prophet Muhammed (S) close family. Khadija [WAVES]/THUMBS UP] was the first person to accept Islam, his freed slave Zaid[WAVES]/THUMBS UP], his cousin Ali ibn Abu Talib[WAVES]/THUMBS UP], and his friend Abu Bakr[WAVES]/THUMBS UP]. Also later Yassir, Ammar, and Sumaya accepted Islam. During the first three years of revelation the muslims prayed in secret[group OF MUSLIMS TIP TOE AND PRAY IN SECRET]. But eventually Quraish found out and then they started torturing them[group OF MUSLIMS PRETENDING TO BE IN PAIN AND TORTURED]. Sumaya was the first person to die for the sake of Allah, she was stabbed by Abu Jahl. In the fourth year, the Prophet Muhammad(S) gave permission for some of the muslims to migrate to Ethopia[GROUP OF MUSLIMS TRAVEL TO ETHOPIA]. There Al Najashi, the king of Ethopia, welcomed them[al NAJASHI OPENS ARMS WIDE]. The Quraish tried to send someone to tell Al Najashi to send the muslims back to Mekkah, but Al Najashi did not agree[al NAJASHI CROSSES ARMS AND SHAKES HEAD NO] and offered them protection In the 6th year after the revelation came down, Hamza and Umar accept Islam. Since Hamza and Umar were very strong[flex MUSCLES] people, the muslims started to pray openly and together[group OF MUSLIMS START TO PRAY OPENLY] in the Kabah, after their acceptance of Islam. Between the 7th and 10th year after revelation, the Quraish made the life of the Muslims really miserable. The drove them out of Mekkah and boycotted them from any business or family relationship[muslims BEND OVER IN PAIN]. The muslims were not allowed to buy or sell anything and became very hungry[muslims BEND OVER IN PAIN]. This was the hardest time in the Prophet Muhammad (S) life. In the 10th year, which is also know was the year of sadness, his uncle Abu Talib[FALLS ON THE FLOOR] and his wife Khadija died[falls ON THE FLOOR].

7 Israa and Miraj Skit Please note that the Israa and Miraj is not a skit, but important to touch upon Allah knew how much Prophet Muhammad (S) and the muslims were suffering. Prophet Muhammad (S) and his companions were very patient. They had full trust in Allah. Allah sent Angel Jibril to bring Prophet Muhammad(S) to Heaven. The journey of Prophet Muhammad (S) going to Heaven is called the Miraj. Rasulullah (S) rode on the Buraq to travel. The Buraq was an animal from Heaven. He was like a horse with wings. First Muhammad(S) travelled on the Buraq to Masjid Al-Aqsa in Al-Quds(Jerusalem). He prayed there and ALL the prophets prayed behind him. From al-quds, he went up to Heaven. There he saw all the prophets. He saw how beautiful Heaven was. He prayed to Allah to give this Paradise to his Ummah. Then he saw the terrible Hell. He prayed to Allah to save his Ummah from the terrible fire. Allah called him to His presence. No other human being or angel has ever been there. Allah spoke to Rasulullah(S) there. Allah gave the gift of Prayer to the Prophet Muhammad(S) for the muslim Ummah. It was first commanded that we pray 50 times a day, but then the prayers got reduced to 5 times a day. Prayer is the Miraj of the Mulsims. Through prayer muslims can meet Allah. The next day, the muslims learned about Muhammad s journey to Heaven. They were happy to learn about the Miraj. The Muslims thanked Allah for honoring their Prophet(S), for the gift of prayer, for the gift of the Quran, and for the promise of Heaven.

9 Migration to Madina Skit Roles: NARRATOR MUHAJEREEN(A group of travelers to Madina) ALI ABU BAKR ANSARS (A group of people already living in Madina) Story: Narrator: This scene starts out in Mecca and then ends in Madinah. The prophet gave permission to the muslims to migrate to Madinah, at first only a group of them went[muhajereen TRAVEL TO MADINAH]. The prophet Muhammed(S) and Abu Bakr stayed behind. It was then that the Quraish decided to kill the Prophet Muhammed. They gathered around his house and were waiting for him to come out. News of their plan to kill him reached the prophet(s) and they decided to have Ali Ibn Abi Talib sleep in his bed.[ali GOES AND SLEEPS IN BED] The Quraish came and surrounded his house. The Prophet Muhamemd (S) escaped by reciting some quran and blowing some dust towards the Quraish. When he left the Quraish who were standing outside did not seem him and Abu Bakr was waiting for him[abu BAKR OUTSIDE HOUSE WAITING FOR HIM]. On their way to Madina, they took the long way towards Yemen[TRAVELING TOWARDS YEMEN] so it would be harder to find them. On their way there they stopped at Cave Thawr, they stayed there for 3 days[hide IN CAVE]. The Quraish sent people to look for the Prophet Muhammad(S) and Abu Bakr. They were even people who were looking for the Prophet Muhammad(S) who made it to the cave that they were hiding in, but Allah had a spider build its web on the cave and a bird had its nest next to the cave, so they said there is no way that they could be in there without breaking the web or having the bird fly away. The people who were looking for Abu Bakr and the Prophet Muhammad(S) turned around and left. Abu Bakr and the prophet Muhammed (S) finally reached Madina[ARRIVED IN MADINA], and were greeted by the Ansars who were singing(tala al Badru Alayana) excitingly waiting their arrival.[ansars SINGING TALA AL BADRU ALAYANA]

11 Life in Madina Roles: MUHAJEREEN ANSARS ABU AYUB CAMEL ABDULLAH IBN ZAYD BILAL Story: Narrator: This scene takes place in Madinah. The people of Madinah celebrated the arrival of the Prophet Muhammad (S) by lining the streets of Madina and singing Talaa Badru Alayna. Some of the people were competing with each other to invite the prophet (S) to their homes. Some tried to take the control of his camel[ansars/muhajereen GRAB CAMEL] to lead it towards their own home. The Prophet (S) stopped the people and said let the camel go on its own. The camel was commanded by Allah and started to wander through the streets of Madina.[CAMEL WANDERS THE STREETS] The camel travelled through Madina with the crowds of people following it. The camel finally stopped on a plot of land belonging to two orphans[camel STOPS]. A deal was negotiated and a price agreed for the land, even though the guardians of the land wanted to gift it to the Prophet (S). The land was purchased and a Masjid was built on that very site. The Prophet (S) himself was involved in the construction of the Masjid. He carried the materials and helped build the Masjid. Until his living quarters were ready, the prophet (S) had stayed as a guest in Abu Ayub s house[opens ARMS TO WELCOME MUHAMMAD(S) INTO HIS HOUSE]. Abu Ayub lived next to the site of the Masjid and was actually related to Muhammad (S) from his mother s side. Abu Ayub moved to the upper story of his house with his family during those few days[goes UPSTAIRS]. With the construction of the Masjid, the Athan (call to the prayer) was also established. There was a discussion about how to call the people to prayer. One of the companions, Abdullah bin Zayd, had a dream during which he was shown the best way to call the people to prayer. He related the dream to the Prophet (S) who said that it was a true dream. Another companion, had the same dream so it was decided that this would be the call to the prayers. Abdullah bin Zayd taught the words of the Athan to Bilal just as he had heard in the dream. Bilal became the first

12 Mu azin, the caller to prayer, in Islam. The prophet (S) suggested that each of the Muhajireen would be paired with the Ansar[MUHAJEREEN PAIR WITH ANSAR]. Each would become a brother to the other: sharing food, shelter and wealth with each other[share WITH EACH OTHER]. Many of the Muslims of Makkah had left empty handed and were indeed struggling, without shelter, food or family. Without any hesitation, the Ansar embraced the Prophet s (S) instructions and welcomed their new brothers[hugs]. The Muslims shared everything with each other. They became brothers in faith and whatever little they had was shared between them. Life in Madina Review Questions: 1 Why were people competing with each other? 13 Famous Battles Roles: MUSLIMS (All students together pretending to fight Quraish in slow motion) Story: BATTLE OF BADR After the muslims migrated to Madina, the Quraish decided to take the muslims belongings that was left in Mekkah and sell it. While the Quraish were on their way to sell the muslims belongings, some of the muslims spotted them. This is what started the first battle between the muslims and the quraish. The muslim army was just made of 313 and the quraish army was made up of Allah sent angels to help the muslims fight. This battle was called BATTLE OF BADR!!! Despite their small number, the muslims won! The battle of badr ended[all STUDENTS STOP FIGHTING] BATTLE OF UHUD Since the quraish did not win the first battle, they were mad and upset wanted to have another one. The quraish this time had 3000 soldiers and the muslims only had 700 soliders. The Prophet Muhammad(S) told some of the muslims to stay ontop of a hill called Uhud and not to leave unless he tells them too and they were to watch for any surprises. During the battle the muslims were initially winning, the muslims who were ontop of Uhud got so excited and left their posts and ran down the hill. When they came down, the Quraish came from behind the hill and attacked the muslims. The muslims lost this battle. This battle was the BATTLE OF UHUD! The battle of uhud ended.[all STUDENTS STOP FIGHTING] BATTLE OF AL KHANDAQ Another battle that was taken with a different strategy is called the Battle of the Ditch(Al Khandaq). The muslims decided to build a huge ditch all around them so no one can get over it. Then when the quraish tried to attack they could not get over it. Later a huge windstorm came and blew away all of the quraishes tents and materials. The quraish after that fled and the muslims won this battle. This was called BATTLE OF AL KHANDAQ! The battle of Al Khandaq ended.[all STUDENTS STOP FIGHTING]

15 Final Year Roles: MUSLIMS (All students together performing Hajj) Story: Narrator: This scene starts in Madinah and they travel to Mecca. In the 10th year after hijrah. Muhammad(S) and his companions marched to Mecca and regained control of Mecca [ALL MUSLIMS MARCH TO MECCA]. The Prophet Muhammad(S) rededicated the Ka ba to Allah and witnessed the conversion to Islam of nearly the entire Meccan population. While the Prophet(S) was there he performed his hajj with more than 124,000 of his brothers and sisters in Islam[PERFORM HAJJ]. After that Prophet Muhammad(S) returned to Madina.[MUSLIMS RETURNED TO MADINA] Three months later the Prophet Muhammad(S) died in Madina, at the age of 63, after a brief illness. He is buried in the mosque in Madina called Masjid Al Nabawi. Within a hundred years Muhammad s teaching and way of life had spread from the remote corners of Arabia as far east as Indo-China and as far west as Morocco, France and Spain.
