If you have no idea which direction to pray in then: -Pray in any direction if there isn t enough time. -Pray in all 4 directions if there is enough time. If you think it is one of 2 directions then: -Pray in both directions If you do not know the Qiblah and there is no way of finding out then: - Pray in the direction you have a strong feeling about.
INTRODUCTION TO SALAAT Seek assistance through patience and Salaat.[2:45] There are 17 Rakaats in the daily prayers:
PREPARATION FOR SALAAH You are expecting your friend for the holidays. He/She will be spending a week or so with you. Before he/she arrives, what do you do to prepare yourself??
PREPARATION FOR SALAAH In the same way, before starting to pray, we must prepare ourselves as we are about to stand in front of Allah [s.w.t]. This is known as:
PREPARATION FOR SALAAH
CLOTHES FOR SALAAH NOT MADE FROM ANY PART OF A HARAAM ANIMAL TAHIR MUBAH NOT MADE OF GOLD NOT MADE OF PURE SILK
PLACE OF SALAAH PLACE MUST BE YOURS PRAYER MAT MUST BE CLEAN & TAHIR PLACE MUST BE TAHIR & CLEAN PERMISSION NOT NEEDED IF YOU PRAY IN THE MOSQUE YOU MUST HAVE PERMISSION OF OWNER TO USE IF NOT YOURS
MUNAFIYAAT OF SALAAH MUNAFIYAT MEANS THE THINGS WHICH CAN MAKE YOUR SALAAT BATIL How many Rakaats have I prayed in this Fajr Salaah? I forgot Takbirarul Ihram Make me chips, Mum!! Ameen
MUNAFIYAAT OF SALAAH MUNAFIYAT MEANS THE THINGS WHICH CAN MAKE YOUR SALAAT BATIL
PRAYING WHEN TRAVELLING WAJIB PRAYERS ARE SUCH AN IMPORTANT IBADAT THAT THEY CANNOT BE LEFT OUT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. These Are The Steps To Follow 1 st Perform Wudhu. If this is not possible, do Tayammum instead. 2 nd You have to find out the position of Qiblah with the help of a compass or by asking someone who may know. 3 rd You should make your Niyyat and recite Takbiratul Ihram facing Qiblah. How To Pray When Travelling If you can, then pray in a standing position. If you cant stand and pray, then sit down and pray. If this is not possible, then the Ruku, Sajdah and all other actions should be done with the movement of the eyelids.
MISCELLANEOUS MASAIL OF SALAAH Daimul Hadath - When someone has a problem of urinating, winding out of gas, etc, every now and then. If a person suffers from incontinence, i.e. s/he suffers from an illness due to which their urine comes out, drop after drop, or they cannot control their faeces, they should act as follows: If they are sure that they can offer their prayers, after performing Wudhu, at any time within the time prescribed for prayers, they should offer the prayers within that time. In case they can control their urine or faeces only for so much time within which they can perform Wajib actions relating to prayers, then they should perform only the Wajib parts. IF THEY RECOVER FROM THIS ILLNESS, THERE IS NO NEED FOR THEM TO OFFER QADHA OF THOSE PRAYERS THAT WERE OFFERED DURING THE PERIOD OF ILLNESS.
MISCELLANEOUS MASAIL OF SALAAH Qadha Prayers A person who does not offer his/her Wajib prayers in time should offer Qadha prayers, even if s/he was asleep or unconscious during the entire time prescribed for the prayers. A person, who has Qadha prayers to offer, should not be careless about offering then even though it is not obligatory to offer them immediately. A person, who has Qadha prayers to offer, can still pray Mustahab Salaat. It is not necessary to maintain order in the offering of the Qadha prayers except in the case for which order has been prescribed. AS LONG AS A PERSON IS ALIVE, NO OTHER PERSON CAN OFFER QADHA ON HIS/HER BEHALF, EVEN IF THEY ARE UNABLE TO OFFER THEM
IMPORTANCE OF SALAAH 1. By regular offering of prayer at its fixed timings, the spirit of punctuality is developed. 2. Prayer keeps a person neat and clean, his/her body tidy and his/her heart pure. 3. The person who prays Salaat washes his/her hands, mouth, etc. 5 times a day which kills his/her weariness. 4. Allah bestows upon the one who prays Salaat Blessings of Knowledge, Faith and Wealth. 5. Allah is pleased with the one who offers Salaat and so are the Prophet(S) and the Imams (A). 6. Prayer exalts the human soul, restrains it from impure things, produces peace of mind, removes the future difficulties and solves our problems. 7. The Holy Prophet (S) has said Prayer is the Mercy of the Believer. 8. Salaat is going to help us in the Hereafter. It will serve the purpose of a lamp or light in the grave. EVERY GOOD DEED OF A PERSON WILL BE ACCEPTED BY ALLAH IF HIS PRAYER IS ACCEPTED BY ALLAH. IF ONE'S SALAAT IS REJECTED, EVERY GOOD DEED OF HIS WILL BE REJECTED ALSO.
CONCLUSION Are you praying because: You fear Allah? If YES, then this is a prayer of slaves. You hope to be rewarded? If YES, then this is a prayer of the traders. It is due to Him and He alone deserves to be prayed to and to be served? If YES, then it is the BEST of all prayers. AND REMEMBER, Imam Ali (A) has said: If he who offers prayers comes to know how much Grace of Allah is bestowed upon him during the prayers, he would never lift his head from Sajdah. SALAAT REMOVES THE DARKNESS OF THE HEART THROUGH THE LIGHT OF PRAYERS

THE FIRST "ALLAHU AKBAR" OF THE SALAAT IS KNOWN AS TAKBIRATUL IHRAM BECAUSE, ONCE YOU SAY IT YOU HAVE ENTERED SALAAT AND SO THE THINGS THAT BREAK THE SALAAT BECOME HARAAM ON YOU. TAKBIRATUL IHRAM = WAJIB RUKN IF MISSED OUT INTENTIONALLY OR BY MISTAKE NAMAAZ IS BATIL
TO STAND ERECT WHILE SAYING TAKBIRATUL EHRAM AND TO STAND BEFORE RUKU Allah is greater than anything or anyone Allahu Akber
QIYAM RUKNI QIYAM GHAYR RUKNI QIYAM QIYAM DURING TAKBIRATUL IHRAM QIYAM MUTTASIL BEFORE RUKU QIYAM WHEN RECITING SURAS & TASBIHATE ARBAA
Wajib Actions During The Qiyam You Should Stand Straight, Facing the Qiblah You Should Not Lean on Anything While Standing You Should Stand on Your Whole Feet, Not on Your Heels or Toes You Should Stand Still Mustahab Actions In Qiyam Look at Mohr Slacken Shoulders Stand Erect Hands on Thigh With fingers joined Stand on 2 Feet With Feet in Line MEN TO KEEP FEET SLIGHTLY APART & WOMEN TO KEEP FEET TOGETHER

THE TWO SAJDAHS TOGETHER ARE A WAJIB RUKN OF SALAAT; IF YOU MISS THEM BOTH OR ADD TWO MORE, WHETHER INTENTIONALLY OR BY MISTAKE YOUR SALAAT IS BATIL.
ORDER TO FOLLOW WHEN GOING INTO & OUT OF THE SAJDAHS Stand up straight & still before going into the first Sajdah Be still while reciting the Dhikr of Sajdah DON T start the Dhikr until you have reached the required position and are not moving Get up after the 1 st Sajdah into a sitting position, wait, then go into the 2 nd Sajdah DON T start the Dhikr until you have reached the required position and are not moving Get up again after the second sajdah into a sitting position before standing up IF YOU INTENTIONALLY RECITE THE DHIKR OF SAJDAH BEFORE YOUR BODY BECOMES STILL OR RAISE YOUR HEAD WHILE STILL RECITING THE DHIKR, YOUR SALAAT IS BATIL
Sajdah can be performed on Natural earth; Anything that grows from the earth; OR Anything that is not eaten or worn KHAKE SHIFA HIGHEST PREFERENCE HAS BEEN GIVEN FOR DOING SAJDAH UPON THE EARTH FROM THE HARAM OF IMAM HUSAIN (A.S.) IN KERBALA. THIS EARTH IS KNOWN AS "TURBATUL HUSAYNIYYAH" OR "KHAKE SHIFA". IT IS SACRED BECAUSE IT IS AN EARTH THAT HAS THE BLOOD OF THE MARTYRS OF KERBALA. IMPORTANCE OF SAJDAH IT IS HARAAM IN ISLAM TO DO SAJDAH TO ANYONE BUT ALLAH. THEREFORE, WHEN WE PUT OUR FOREHEADS AT THE DOORSTEPS OF THE SHRINES OF OUR IMAMS (A) WE MUST MAKE SURE THAT OUR INTENTION IS NOT FOR PRAYING TO THEM BUT THAT WE ARE DOING SAJDAH FOR THANKING ALLAH AND SEEKING THE INTERCESSION OF THE IMAMS.
RECITATION OF TWO SURAS IN THE 1ST AND 2ND RAKAATS AND TASBIHAT-E-ARBAA IN THE 3RD AND 4TH RAKAATS Glory be to Allah, and all praise is for Him and there is no one worth worshipping other than Allah, and He is Greater than any description Subhanallahi wal hamdu lillahi wa la ilaha lallahu wallahu Akbar

Assalamu 'alayka ayyuhan Nabiyyu wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh Assalamu 'alayna wa 'ala 'ibadil lahis salihin Assalamu 'alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh.
Salaam is: The last Wajib part of Salaat A Ghayr Rukn part of Salaat Wajib after the Tashahud of the last Rakaat When Reciting Salaam You Must: Be seated Be still, not moving Recite the last Salaam i.e. BY SAYING THE SALAAM YOU COME OUT OF THE SALAAT. THEREFORE, ALL THE THINGS THAT HAD BECOME HARAAM AFTER SAYING THE TAKBIRATUL EHRAM BECOME HALAL FOR YOU.
RECITE YOUR SALAAH AS PRESCRIBED SHARIAH. DO NOT PERFORM SAJDAH BEFORE RUKU PRAY IN SEQUENCE I.E. STEP-BY-STEP
PRAY WITHOUT INTERRUPTIONS OR GAPS I ve done my second Sajdah. I think I will take a break of 5 minutes before getting up for my 4 th Rakaat! THIS IS NOT ALLOWED. ONE MUST PRAY WITHOUT GAPS. IF A PERSON ALLOWS UNDUE INTERVALS BETWEEN DIFERENT ACTS HIS PRAYERS WILL BE VOID
THE WAJIBATS OF SALAAH ARE DIVIDED INTO TWO 5 ARE RUKN 6 ARE GHAYR RUKN
WHAT DOES RUKN MEAN AND WHICH WAJIBATS ARE RUKN? Rukn Means Such Actions If Left Out or Added Intentionally or Unintentionally, Salaah Becomes Batil
WHAT DOES GHAYR RUKN MEAN AND WHICH WAJIBATS ARE GHAYR RUKN? Ghayr Rukn Means Such Actions If Left Out or Added Intentionally, Salaah Becomes Batil
It is highly recommended to glorify Allah by reciting the three short phrases on a rosary. This Tasbih is known as "Tasbihuz Zahra", as our Holy Prophet (s.a.w.) taught it to his beloved daughter, Fatimah Zahra (a.s.) The 3 phrases are: "ALLAHU AKBAR" - "AL-HAMDU LIL LAH" - "SUBHAN ALLAH" - 34 TIMES; 33 TIMES; & 33 TIMES.
