4 Prophet Muhammad Muslims believe God sent to humans to teach them how to live. A prophet is a messenger of God and Prophet is the most important prophet. Muhammad was born in 570 CE in and was an orphan by the age of 6 and was taken into care by his Grandfather and Uncle. As he grew older he became a spiritual man, and often spent time in on Mount Hira. One night in 610 CE he was meditating in a on the mountain when he was visited by the Angel who ordered him to recite (speak aloud). Once Jibreel mentioned the name of Allah, Muhammad began to recite words which he came to believe were the of God. During the rest of his life Muhammad continued to receive these messages.
