UNIT A CHAPTER 4 THE WORLD OF ANGELS Q.1. What are angels made of? Ans. Angels are made of light. Q.2. Define: a) Malak ملك : singular for angel. b) Malaikah ملكئكة : plural of angels. c) The Hafathah الحفظة : or the guardian angels are positioned in front and in the back of every person. They protect people against the harms of devils and evil jinn. If Allah will that a person may be hurt for certain wisdom, this will happen. d) Al-Katabah الكتبة : or the honorable record keepers are the two angels sitting on the right and on the left of every human being. They record all our good and bad deeds we do. e) Ard-ul-Mahshar أرض المحشر : The Land of Gathering, where all people will be gathered after Resurrection. f)hamalat-ul Arsh حملة العرش : The Carriers of the Throne, eight angels who will carry the Lord s throne on the Day of Judgement. Q.3. What are the three main functions of angels? Ans. 1. They protect us from harm and evil. 2. They record our good and bad deeds. 3. They obey Allah s commands and glorify Him at all times. Q.4. Describe the role of Malak-ul-Mawt? Ans. He is the Angel of Death and his task is to take the soul of the human from the body. Q.5. Who are Ridwan and Malik? Ans. Ridwan is the head of all the keepers in Jannah and Malik is the main keeper of Jahannum. Q.6. Describe the dialogue that will take place between the people of Jahannam and Malik.

Ans. And they shall call out: O Malik! Let your Lord make an end to us. He shall say: Surely you shall stay. Q.7. Describe the role of Israfeel. Ans. Upon an order from Allah, Angel Israfeel will blow a horn creating a blaring siren heralding the Hereafter. This will bring total destruction to the whole world. Sometime later Israfeel will blow the horn again. This second deafening tone will cause resurrection of all mankind from death and the Day of Judgement will then start. Q.8. Who is the angel that you may remember when you watch a report about the weather on TV? Describe the function of that angel. Ans. We remember Angel Mika eel whenever we hear any news about weather. Allah gives orders to Angel Mika eel with regard to the weather. He moves the clouds and winds according to Allah s will. Q.9. Who is the greatest angel? Ans. Jibreel is the greatest Angel. UNIT A CHAPTER 6 THE GREAT HADEETH OF JIBREEL 1.Describe Jibreel as he appeared to the Prophet and the Sahabah Jibreel appeared to the Prophet and the Sahabah in the form of a man dressed in extremely white clothes and with very black hair. No traces of travelling were visible on him, and no one knew him.

2. What are the ethics of learning from a teacher as Jibreel showed in this hadeeth? Here are a few ethics we find in this hadith :- # We should have clear intention, i.e. to learn the knowledge for the sake of Allah alone. # We should be clean and wear clean and tidy clothes # We should sit properly and close to the speaker. # We should ask short and good questions to gain better understanding # We should seek knowledge from the right authority and source # We should maintain good listening skills. 3. A good question is half of knowledge. Explain this proverb This proverb is true, because a question encourages teachers to impart their knowledge. Allah says in Surat-ul-Anbiyaa : So ask the knowledgeable نفسا عس ن أملنوا أ ن عهنل الذ عكإر إ عن مكعنمتعم نل نتعنلمنو ن ٧ people if you don t know. Also, a question that is good reveals the depth of intelligence of the questioner. 4. What made Angel Jibreel s question very effective? Angel Jibreel only asked questions and didn t give any answer. He listened carefully to what the Prophet had to say. In spite of that, the Prophet described his actions as teaching Islam. Therefore the good questions of Jibreel caused the Sahabah to learn good knowledge from Rasoolullah. 5. What are the pillars of Islam? Explain two of these pillars? The Five Pillars of Islam are the foundation of Muslim life, The Qur an presents them as a framework for worship and a

sign of commitment to the faith. They are the shahadah, salah, zakah, sawm and hajj. 1)Hajj :-The Hajj is a pilgrimage to Makkah. It is the fifth pillar of islam, an obligation that must be carried out at least once in one s lifetime by every Muslim who reached puberty and can afford it physically and financially. 2) Sawm:- To observe fast in the month of Ramadan, every year during Ramadan Muslims observe fast from dawn to dusk. They don t drink or eat from Fajr to Maghrib. Fasting teaches Muslims self-discipline and control of their desires. It trains to develop strong will. Also the fasting person develops greater compassion for the plight of those who are hungry. 6. What are the articles of Iman? Explain two of these article. The articles are as follows :- 1.Belief in one God, Supreme and Eternal, Endlessly Merciful. 2. Belief in all Prophets and Messengers of Allah 3. Belief in books reveled to previous Prophets 4. Belief in Angels 5. Belief in Al-Qadr 6. Belief in the day of judgment and the eternal life 1) Al-Qadr:- Al-Qadr is God s commands and Will concerning this world before it was created. The word Qadr comes from the Qur an and the Sunnah. 2) Belief in all the prophets of Allah:- Allah sent a Prophet to every nation of the ancient world. 25 Prophets and messengers are named in the Qur an.

7. Explain Ihsan: Ihsan in Arabic means perfection or excellence. It is a matter of taking one s inner faith and showing it in both deed and action, a sense of social responsibility borne from religious convictions. Ihsan is to worship God as though you see Him, and if you cannot see Him, then indeed He sees you. 8. When is the Day of Judgment? The knowledge of the Hour only lies with Allah. 9. What does the Signs of the Hour mean? The Signs of the Hour means those signs which tell us that the hour is near.there are major and minor signs.
