On 29 th December 2018, Zuhr and Asr prayers would be offered at 1:45 p.m. (Jalsa Gah) On 30 th December 2018, Zuhr and Asr prayers would be offered at 2:00 p.m. On 28 th December 2018, the Friday Sermon of Hudhur Anwar aba will be LIVE telecasted from London. The Friday Sermon will be shown in the following Mosques. People can listen and watch it wherever they want according to their convenience. 9 8 JALSA SALANA in the words of Hazrat Masih Mau ud as Significance of Jalsa Salana: This gathering (Jalsa) may not be termed as an ordinary gathering... The foundation of this gathering has been laid by God Almighty s own hand. ( Majmoo ah Ishtiharat, Vol. I, Page 341) Source to enhance one s Faith & Perception: The main avocation in this gathering would be the exposition of such knowledge and truth that would be essential to promote faith, belief and wisdom. (Roohani Khazain, Vol: 4, Page 352) Spiritual Benefits & Reward: It is, therefore, essential for those who can afford to undertake the journey, to participate in this gathering. They should disregard the minor inconveniences suffered in the cause of Allah and His Holy Prophet, Allah blesses His sincere devotees at every step, and every hardship borne in this cause never goes unrewarded. ( Majmoo`ah Ishtiharat Vol. I, Page 341) Introduction with New Brethren: Among its secondary benefits is that this congregational meeting will promote mutual introduction among all brothers, and it will strengthen the fraternal ties within this Community. 10 9 Collective Dua-e-Maghfirat for the Deceased Ones: And the Brother deceased from this mortal world (Inn) during this Period; there shall be offered Dua-e-Maghfirat for him in this Jalsa. (Roohani Khazain, Vol. 4, Page 352) Prayers for Attendants of Jalsa Salana: I conclude with the prayer that everyone who travels for [attending] this Convention that is for the sake of Allah: May Allah, the Exalted, be with him, reward him in abundant measure, have mercy on him, ease up for him his circumstances of hardship and anxiety and eliminate his anguish and grief. May He grant him freedom from every single hardship and lay open for him the ways of [achieving] his cherished goals, and raise him up, on the day of Judgment, among those of His servants who are the recipients of His blessings and Mercy. May He be their Guardian in their absence until after their journey comes to an end. O Allah! O Sublime One and Bestower of bounties, the Ever Merciful and One Who resolves all problems, do grant all these prayers, and grant us victory over our opponents with scintillating signs, because You alone have all the prowess and power. 11 10 Directives Some Directives for Guests and Workers of Jalsa Salana In the light of instructions by Hadhrat Khalifatul Masih V aba Programmes of Jalsa Result in Enhancement of Spirituality Instead of wasting your time in meaningless conversations, the days of Jalsa should be dedicated for prayers and endeavouring spirituality... One way or another, all the programmes of Jalsa result in enhancement of knowledge and spirituality... Since the assemblies of women folk are quite long, they should also spend these days for enhancement of spirituality instead of gossiping. Go through this time with prayers. (Al-Fazl International 8-14 July 2005) (Mashal-e-Rah, Vol. 3, Page 47) Security: The important point regarding the security which I would like to say to all the Jalsa attendants and the workers of all Shobajat... to be watchful around yourselves. (Friday Sermon, 27 th July 2007) Consider the Cleanliness: Pay heed towards cleanliness. Don t throw your dust here and there. Instead, if you notice any litter anywhere ; pick it up and deposit into the dust-bins immediately. (Weekly Badr, 19 th September 2007)

12 11 Responsibilities of the officers of various departments : All officers in charge of various departments should remember that as supervisors, it is their responsibility that the jobs assigned to them are running smoothly. As officers they are supervisors of workers. This is the principle that we have been taught that it is the supervisor who would be answerable for workers in his supervision or for the deeds of his disciples. Advice for the Hosts: Your motto should be to honour and serve the Guests and serve selflessly them with love, sincerity and in a spirit of sacrifice. Honour your colleague-workers also and perform your all work and duties adhering mutual love. The hosts must perform their duties of hospitality in a pleasant manner and continue to do so as long as the hospitality period continues. It is not commendable that the workers disappear immediately after the Jalsa is over and those in charge are left in embarrassment. Perform your duties diligently and honestly. Similarly, if the workers find a guest angry, they should apologise politely and try to remove and solve his difficulty. Remember! you should never speak to your guests harshly or discourteously. (Weekly Badr 19 th September 2003) Hospitality in Islam is a great virtue and this honour of a Guest is not limited to our people, it is not limited only to our dears, it is not limited only to our intimate friends but he commands us

13 12 to serve our every Guest despite what the religion he professes is, have a kinship or not so the right of Guests should always be taken into account and the guests who came to acquire from the spiritual Maidah abiding by the call of Hazrat Masih Mau ud as, who came from far-flung areas by making expenses we will do what we can and that should be done. Every worker should serve every guest with the thinking that the duty of hospitality may be fulfilled. His need should be considered. High virtues and morals should be displayed. Personal worries should be ignored because problems are being faced to perform one s duties. All workers should become ready, all the time, to serve these Guests sincerely with the feelings of gratitude. (Ahmadiyya Gazette, Oct 2016, page 24) Advice for the Guests: Guests should remember that all these arrangements are temporary. The volunteers work very hard to serve the guests, but occasionally if there is any shortfall, it should be overlooked. If any guests find a shortfall, they should gently draw attention of the workers to it. There is no need to get angry. The arrangements are on a large-scale and there may be some deficiencies. They should be tolerated and overlooked. Mobile Phones: Please switch off your Mobile phones during the prayers. Some people have the habit of bringing in their phones and leaving them switched on. When the phones begin ringing, it causes a great deal of disturbance to the worshippers. Etiquettes of Conversation: Refrain from meaningless talk. Conversation should be carried out in low voice and with due respect. Acrimonious talk should

14 be avoided. 13 Some people talk loudly and in querulous tones as a matter of habit or sit in groups and indulge in loud laughter. Try to avoid these practices as much as you can during these three days. In fact avoid these altogether. This is not considered a good habit anyway. Discipline: Be cautious and don t make noise while walking on narrow roads. Be mindful of the discipline. Co-operate and abide fully with the instructions given by workers on duty. Etiquettes of Food: A lot of food is wasted during these days. It is generally a good practice to take only so much in the plate as you can finish and thus waste nothing. Teach the same to your children. We should not be guilty of bad manners that may affect others. Directions regarding the Namaz: Jalsa days should be spent in the remembrance of Allah, reciting Durood (invoking blessings of Allah upon His Holy Prophet) and regular performance of Salat. The guests have come from far and wide. If they do not perform Salat regularly and at their appointed times, they will lose the real purpose of their coming to Jalsa. Similarly, in such places as the kitchen where it is difficult for the worker to leave, arrangements should be made so that they can perform their Salat in their place of duty. This is the responsibility of those who are In Charge of those areas. Directions for Ladies: Ladies should remember to talk only during interval and the talks should be limited whether it would be the Guest-houses

15 14 or interval or if they are in houses...i would like to remind the women of the fact, as Hazrat Masih Mau ud as said, that the Jalsa is not a worldly fair/festival. So an attendant of the Jalsa should focus his look onto the matter that we should excel our spiritual, moral and knowledge standards. We have to excel therein and benefit from this environment. When this shall be our thinking then those ladies who are making adornment of their garments & jewellery would come in plain clothing or they would come with the thinking that our primary purpose is to attend the Jalsa. Garments should be suitable and covered: The garments should be suitable and covered. There are complaints that the garments of some ladies are such that they do not exhibit the sanctity of an Ahmadi woman. So, the garments should be such that they cover the beauty. Allah the Exalted guided that the garments which you wear in accordance to Taqwa shall be the garments covering your beauty. Security: It is important that for the sake of security, you remain watchful all the time. Be vigilant and if you notice a stranger, inform the relevant department immediately. It is not advisable to interfere yourself personally. The best way to be watchful is to keep a sharp look out around yourselves on those who are not familiar to you. This is the best security for Jama at Ahmadiyya. When entering, present yourselves voluntarily to the relevant staff for checking. Always keep your identity card prominently visible. If you notice someone without the card, remind him politely to

16 display his card. 15 Take special care of your valuables and cash. This is your own responsibility. The organisers cannot be held responsible for any loss. Tahrik for Prayers: Most important are supplications and prayers. Remember to put great emphasis on your prayers, when starting your journey, coming to Jalsa and during travels. (Based on Friday Sermon 18 th July 2003) It is expected from the Guests and Workers to read the aforementioned sayings of Hazrat Masih Mau ud as and Hazrat Khalifatul Masih atba repeatedly and increase their spiritual level. May Allah the Exalted make us associated with Khilafat-e-Ahmadiyya and enable us to fulfil our duties towards Khilafat. During the stay at Qadian, kindly take into account the following points:- Don t use Cigarette, Bidi, Gutka, etc., within the vicinity of Guest-houses and Roads. Remember the etiquette and sanctity of the place in and around the mosque. There are mosques in different Zones of Qadian besides Masjid Mubarak & Masjid Aqsa where congregational prayers are offered. Guests can offer their prayers according to their convenience in a neighbouring Mosque. Gents can offer the congregational prayers in Masjid Mubarak, the ancient portion of Masjid Aqsa, the first & second floor of newly constructed portion of Masjid Aqsa while as ladies can offer it in the Ground-floor & Basement of Masjid Aqsa. Now Masjid Aqsa is expanded enough by the grace of Allah the Exalted. The main way towards the Ground-floor & upper

17 16 two storeys of its New portion is in front of the Staircase. However, to proceed to the Ancient portion of Masjid Aqsa; use the northern small staircase. After the prayers people should make their way out without any haste as the exit-routes are narrow. There are exit-routes in basement. Likewise, there are routes through Qasr-e-Khilafat. Khuddam on duty will guide the same. Still, don t make any haste while making the way out. Advice regarding Bazaar: Another important matter to note is that the Bazaar remains closed during the Jalsa proceedings. The guests should be aware of this and not force the shop owners to open their shops for them or sit there. Directions regarding Visa: Please observe the laws of this country during your stay here. Make sure that you leave this country before your visit-visa expires. Those who obtained the visa to come to Jalsa must utilise the entry clearance for the Jalsa alone strictly. 18 17 The following important points may be kept in mind during Jalsa. During Jalsa remain engrossed in the remembrance of Allah, invocation of blessings of Allah on the Holy Prophet (Peace and blessing of Allah be upon him) and be regular and punctual in congregational five time prayers. Greet your friends with a cheerful countenance and gift of Salaam. Co-operate with the officials of Jalsa, make matters easy for the volunteers of the Jalsa for they have dedicated their services for you. During Jalsa Sessions be present in the Jalsa Gah and benefit yourself from the divine discourses. During the Jalsa do not move without a Topi (Cap) During meals, maintain discipline and decorum and take care of cleanliness. Do not throw out any waste within the surrounding of the Jalsa Gah that would discolour the beauty of this spiritual ambience of the Gathering. We should put the waste into the dustbins, kept for this purpose. If you find any expensive thing, inform Khidmat-e- Khalque office about it. Abstain from smoking in the vicinity of the Jalsa Gah and don t stand amidst the passages. Take special care of cleanliness of your clothes. Put on such clothes as would exhibit the personality of an Ahmadi. Ladies are requested to observe Islamic Purdah. It is in this Purdah that your honour lies. Please see to it that while offering prayers in Bahishti Maqbara no idolatory customs are committed. Picking up dust from the grave or stroking your hands on the grave and applying it on your face or body and offering flowers to the grave are all un-islamic and idolatry customs, therefore, every Ahmadi must refrain from them.
