1 Seminars On 17 th November, 2017 K. J. Somaiya College of Arts and Commerce (Gujarati Department), University of Mumbai and Gujarati no Adhyak Sangh had collaterally organised National Seminar on Kavitani Samaj at Mumbai University, Kalina. On 18 th November, 2017 Gujarati Department along with other language department had organised National Seminar on Translation Challenges and Scope. Keynote Speaker Shreemati Arunaba Jadeja, and Gujarati Speaker Dr.Nalinee Madgaonkar & Dr.Kalpana Dave. On 8 th February, 2018 K. J. Somaiya College of Arts and Commerce along with S. N. D. T. College Churchgate and Gujarati no Adhyapak Sangh jointly organised National Seminar on Vidyavistar Vyakhyan Mala at S. N. D. T. Churchgate. Workshops On 15 th July, 2017 Gujarati Department and Maharashtra Rajya Gujarati Sahitya Academy jointly, organised workshop on Kavitano Suryoday under the guidance of Kavi Krushna Dave. On 18 th July, 2017 Gujarati Department along with Lions Club of Ghatkopar had organised a Workshop on Emotional Intelligence by Kinjal Pandya. How to deal with the Emotional stress was the main topic of the session. On 16 th August, 2017 Gujarati Department along with Maharashtra Rajya Gujarati Sahitya Academy organised workshop GeetShibir under the guidance of Poet Mukesh Joshi. Students were taught how to write a poem, and all the students had made an attempt to write a poem 2 of our students were being awarded for Best Poem. On 18 th September, 2017 Gujarati Department along with Maharashtra Rajya Gujarati Sahitya Academy organised workshop on Chand Shibir Syllabus under the guidance of Famous Artist Shenal Muzumdar, who taught various types of Chhand. And our 3 students singed Gujarati poem. On 19 th and 20 th January, 2018 Gujarati Department had organised Warli Painting workshop under the guidance of Vrushali Ghate. Students painted on cover, cardboard paper and cloth. Field Trip On 26 th June, students of Gujarati Department along with the faculty had gone to Monsoon Trip to Gateway of India & Elephanta Caves. There students enjoyed rain and Gujarati Rainy poems and songs. On 8 th February, 2018 students of Gujarati Department had gone for visit of Kitabkhana CST (Somaiya Library).On the same day they also had gone to visit Kalaghoda Festival. On 6 th April, 2018 students of Gujarati Department had gone for Press Visit to Mumbai Samachar so that they can get the information about how the journalists work and how the paper is been printed. Celebrations of Various Days On 8 th March, 2018 Gujarati Department along with Maharashtra Rajya Gujarati Sahitya Academy had organized Kaviyatri Sammelan on the occasion of International Women s Day. Where many poetess had recited their poem on Women.

2 Every year Gujarati Department is celebrating Vishwa Gujarati Matrubhasha Divas on 24 th August, by organizing program of Gujarati Geeto and also the program of Gurjari Vangi Vaibhav where the students make delicious Gujarati Food open fair for all. Every year Gujarati Department celebrates Patangotsav (Kite Festival) where the students fly kites and also enjoy the DJ. Students Activity On 17 th July, students of Gujarati Department had gone for Skill India Summit Indo-Global Education Summit by Indus Foundation at The Lalit Hotel. Our student Sagar Chotaliya was awarded with BEST STUDENT. Spardhotsav Every year Gujarati Department organizes Inter-Collegiate Competition Spardhotsav where we conduct three competitions. i.e. - Natyamaharathi Shree Vishnukumar Vyas Abhinay (Monoacting) - Kavishree Venibhai Purohit Antakshari - Rashtriya Shayar Shree Zaverchand Meghani PPT Presentation Out-side the Classroom On 8 th September, 2017 students of Gujarati Department along with Dr. Sudha Vyas and Prof. Preeti Dave had gone to Andheri for the program of Reviving Gujarati Ancient Poetry Alakh. On 30 th September, students of Gujarati Department along with the faculties had gone for Inauguration of Gujarati Book MutthiUcchera KantiMadiya at Bhaidas Hall, Parla. On 12 th April, 2018 students of Gujarati Department along with the faculty members had gone to watch Movie Reva which was on Syllabus based Novel. Movie Promotion On 18 th January, 2018 Gujarati Department had organized Gujarati Film Promotion Dhaad based on syllabus. Director Paresh Naik, Actor Sujata Mehta and Editor Jayesh Deliwala had a grand promotion of the movie. On 21 st January, 2018 students of Gujarati Department had gone to watch Gujarati Movie Dhaad. Shah Mahila College, Malad 1st with trophy Mumbai 2017 Students Research Master Dhairya Gajara, Miss Bhavi Gandhi and Master Sagar Chotaliya has been doint research work on Lok Sahitya nu Shanshodhan from Shree Jhaverchand Meghani Lok-Shitya Kendra, Rajkot. Students Commercial Achievement Master Shubham Gala doing commercial drama (Vasant Maru and Group), direction and script writing of serials (E-TV Gujarati) also script writer, actor and director under his own banner Kalrav Arts and won many prizes in Adi Marban and other competition. Miss Riddhi Vora doing commercial drama and translation of drama (Ideas Unlimited ) and also RJ Master Jenil Nandu doing commercial drama (Ideas Unlimited and Kutchi Vagad Samaj). Miss Vaibhavi Shah doing commercial drama (Kutchi Vagad Samaj). Master Sagar Chotaliya worked with Mid-Day also translated a book from Marathi to Gujarati ( Prapanch mathi Parmarth) and now as a Free Lancer in many Gujarati News Paper and also Journalist at Gujarat Samachar. Master Bipin Mewada Journalist at Mid-Day Gujarati. Miss Bhavi Gandhi, Miss Bhavika Bhanushali, Miss Nidhi Vora and Master Shubham Gala had gone to Radio for Debate. Three students Miss Ditiksha Ravariya, Master Dhairya Gajara and Miss Vaibhavi Shah participated at Maharashtra Rajya Gujarati Sahitya Academy program Publications Gandhiji ke Dharma Prati Vichar (ISSN ) Research Papers th On 17 November, 2017 presented paper on Kavit na vividh swarupo at Mumbai University, Kalina.
