That vision was realized on August 15, 1947 through the tireless efforts of freedom fighters, nonviolent protests and diplomacy by a countless number of Indians from all backgrounds. Today, India is a vibrant democracy with a booming economy, population, and cultural diversity. This activity book will test your knowledge of the nation. Be sure to use the clues around you from Shraman Foundation to help you succeed! Shraman Foundation Activity Workbook 1

Following Gandhi s peaceful approach, many leaders such as Martin Luther King, Jr., Cesar Chavez, and Nelson Mandela organized nonviolent movements to create the change that their communities needed for peace and equality. What nonviolent actions do you see on a daily basis? What ways can you be the change you wish to see in the world today? 2 Shraman Foundation Activity Workbook
