4 PRESIDENT S MESSAGE AUGUST 2017 Dear Brothers, Sisters and loving young friends, Jai Shree Ram! We had a busy month of July, with programs ranging from our young kids to our senior Devotees, who participated in various activities to keep the flag of our Indian Culture & Heritage flying high. Padmini Rao, a well-known melodious Voice of the Chicagoland area, regaled the Sunday Congregation with her soulful Bhajans. She was accompanied by another local artist Nitin Desai who gave his first presentation in the HOM, which was also appreciated by one and all. I am truly grateful to all these wonderful Bhajan Singers who visit the Temple from time to time, and provide their Services to the Community. YOUTH NIGHT a much awaited Annual Program of the HOM, where our young children get an opportunity to showcase their Talent, was celebrated this year on the 29 th of July. The Youth Coordinators, Ady Mohan and Sid Singla, worked very hard to put together an excellent Program of Classical, Bollywood & Hollywood Songs & Dances to entertain the audiences. Ady, Sid and Sanchita the MC s of the evening, started off with a bang, and kept the energy flowing throughout. I would also like to thank the Parents of all the Kids who participated and helped to make this event a grand success! Another memorable Sunday Congregation was the Talk by Anu Malhotra, a prominent Yoga & Ayurveda teacher, who spoke on Leading a Stress Free Life. In a very simple and practical way, she shared some easy, interesting tips to manage our lives stress-free and lead a healthy, prosperous & happy life. My Thanks also to our Secretary, Anita Rawal, who arranges for such informative & beneficial talks. Two Important Functions are coming up in the month of August. I would like to invite you all to join us in celebrating the Birth of Lord Krishna Janamashtmi - on the 14 th of August. As always, this will be a great program of Bhajan/Kirtan until Midnight, when Shri Krishna will arrive at 12 o clock amidst chanting and ringing bells!!! Please mark your calendars for the 27 th of August, when we shall be celebrating the Independence Day of India. Last year, we started this new program Parade and Patriotism, Hoisting the National Tricolor in the HOM premises. We hope to enhance the program and go even bigger this year! I appeal to all of you to come in large numbers and show your solidarity to your Motherland. As always, please share your views, suggestions and feedback for the progress and growth of the Temple.
