4 PRESIDENT S MESSAGE Dear Brothers, Sisters and loving young friends, Jai Shree Ram! For the second year in a row, HOM celebrated Chacha Nehru s Birthday, Nov 14, in collaboration with Radio Spice Box with great enthusiasm and joy. It was very encouraging to see almost 80 kids ranging from 5 yrs to 15 yrs who participated in different activities like Singing, Dancing & Painting to showcase their talent and their love for the Motherland, INDIA. I truly appreciate and thank the Parents, who put in immense efforts to promote the children and inculcate these Values. We, at the Hari Om Mandir always try to provide a platform, and encourage the kids to come forward, by organizing such Programs. A very informative talk on Mudras, Svar Shastra & Pranayam was presented by Mr Ramesh Gupta, who was visiting Chicago from Maharashtra, India. In a very informal way, he gave great useful tips on breathing and heathy living. These topics are always a great favorite amongst our Senior People in the congregation, and his talk was liked by all. My Dear Devotees, I would also like to draw your attention to some unpleasant activities in our Mandir Premises. We truly respect the sentiments of all our devotees who come to the temple to perform different Poojas & Prayers, and also try OUR BEST to provide all the facilities. However, it is also expected from the Devotees to comply with the guidelines set up by the Mandir Management, for the smooth functioning of the temple. Appropriate Signs have been put up to discourage people from lighting diyas/dhoop/agarbatti etc due to Fire Hazards and Pollution but, I am sorry to say that people DO NOT follow the instructions. As a result, there has been exchange of bad words & argumentation, leading to propaganda against the Temple Staff. Both the Boards of the HOM are really upset with this kind of behavior, and we shall not tolerate these kind of activities in a place of Worship & Peace. It is my humble request to ALL the devotees and members of the community in general, to please co-operate and help us in providing you the best Services in the Temple. In the past years, we have been organizing Akhand Ramayan Path, starting on the 31 st of Dec and concluding on the 1 st of Jan, but due to practical reasons and difficulties for a 24Hour commitment, the Boards have decided to have celebrations only on the 1 st Day of the New Year. So, this Year, I would like to invite you all to join us on the 1 st of January at 10:00 am, for the Sunder Kand Path and seek Blessings from Hanuman Ji for a Prosperous, Healthy & Happy New Year.
