4 PRESIDENT S MESSAGE JULY 2018 Dear Brothers, Sisters and loving young friends, Jai Shree Ram! I would like to begin with thanking YOU ALL for joining in the Summer Activities held during the month of June we had a fun filled Picnic in Busse Woods on June 10, and an entertaining Fathers Day program in the temple on June 16. I want to express my sincere gratitude to all the Members of my TEAM both the Boards for doing an excellent job in making appropriate arrangements for these programs. Although it was a cloudy/rainy day for an outdoor event like PICNIC, we still ended up with a decent crowd and everybody who came, enjoyed the day! A steady flow of Food & Snacks items kept the appetite going, Games & Sports Events for the Kids, Youth, Ladies & Gents kept everybody on their toes. Fruits of the season Mangoes & Watermelons, have always been a great attraction, and the young & old, all relished the same! Another attractive stall was set up by Mr. Patel for Pop Corn and the Barf ka Gola which reminded of the rustic cold treats of Summer back home in India. The day ended with gifts for all the Participants and prizes to the Winners. Every Year, Fathers Day is celebrated in HOM as a Family Fun Day - a cultural evening of Songs, Bollywood & Folk Dances, Shair-o-Shairi, Jokes etc followed by a Lavish Dinner. This year, we had a special RETRO THEME of old songs. I am so grateful and proud of the members of my HOM Parivar, who on my one appeal, came dressed in Black & White, to re-live the spirit of the Golden Era. Couples took special efforts to dress up like the old Bollywood Movie Stars, and brought alive the spirit of those melodious songs. Popular Singers of Chicagoland, like Pratibha Jairath, Raju Bankapur, Chetan Trivedi, Uma Nath & Rakshak Bhansali regaled the audiences with their beautiful voices and evergreen songs. My THANKS to all the participants, attendees, volunteers and team members. Fathers Day on the 17 th of June, was also celebrated in the Sunday Congregation. Children from the Hindi Class recited poems, spoke words of praise, and sang songs in honor of their Dads. They also made beautiful Cards to pay tributes to their respected fathers. As it has become a custom in HOM, over the years, on Fathers Day, Dedicated Members of the Community are recognized for their outstanding services. This year Mr. Ram Verma was chosen to be honored with the Title of The Care Taker of HOM. Due to the sudden demise of Ms Nirmal Bagga recently, the Mahila Satsang Group also needed a new Chairperson. Ms Manisha Garg was appointed as the as the new Chairperson of the Ladies Group, and commended for her sincere efforts in carrying forward the activities of this group. I would like to draw your attention to the upcoming Baba Balak Nath Murti Sthapna in July. Mr. Ashok & Shama Sharma took the lead 2yrs ago, and have been organizing Baba Balak Nath Jis Bhajans / Chowkis on a regular basis. Both the Boards have jointly decided to install a 5Ft Tall Murti. Bunty Bawa, renowned Bhakt and Singer from California will be joining us on July 29 th Bhandara. I would APPEAL to all of you to please donate generously and help the Temple in raising Funds for this holy purpose.
