4 From the President s Desk Dear Devotees, Wish you all a happy and prosperous new year!! May your 2019 be filled with boundless bliss, everlasting energy, and divine blessings. As we are stepping into a new year, it is time to reflect on the progress we made in 2018 and look forward to building upon successes in Our steadfast work and necessary financial investments over the last 30+ years to establish and grow Hindu Center has been paying rich dividends each year and a valuable asset that we will be passing on to our future generation. Our facilities are able to meet the growing community needs, and we can accommodate approximately 1,000+ devotees at a time. Over 600 kids come to Hindu Center each week to learn and practice religion, language, culture, arts, and technology. With commitment from our volunteers and teachers, in addition to religious, language, regular yoga, we are offering yoga classes to senior at no charge. While we have come a long way from where it started, we would like to continue to invest, make improvements to the current facilities, and build a new canteen hall with modern kitchen which will enable us to increase variety of food items we offer. Also, with addition of the canteen hall, we can meet growing space needs for classes and can accommodate another 200 kids each week. A big thanks to our community for the generous contributions towards this project, current pledge amount is approximately $225K. Bhoomi Puja is scheduled on February 17th, 2019 and look forward to seeing you. We religiously celebrated our major festivals and pujas and I would like to thank our priests for creating a divine and vibrant atmosphere during these ceremonies. This year, with our community support we offered Mukut to Ram Parivar. I would like to thank volunteers who took the lead to redesign and clean Prabhavalis for all the deities, and this project was long overdue. Many volunteers spent countless hours in decorating the temple for the religious and cultural events. Our volunteers worked tirelessly in the canteen to prepare authentic, nutritious and delicious Indian food for the devotees. On the cultural side, Musical night, Holi and Diwali fireworks were a huge undertaking and would like to thank everyone involved in organizing. Big thanks to the community for coming and celebrating these festivities with us and making it a huge success. I am also inspired by the passion and dedication of numerous volunteers who selflessly served at the Festival of India. Through these activities, we continue to deliver on our mission to build a strong and resilient community. Let's make 2019 even more successful in advancing our spiritual and material journey.
