3 Romans 12:2 - And do not be conformed to this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.

8 Do Not Be Conformed to This World simply means: Don t buy into the values and mindset of a lost, sinful, evil, unbelieving world and copy their behaviors.

9 1. What kind of values does my appearance and lifestyle reflect? 2. What do I spend my time thinking about? 3. Who does my life most reflect? 4. What foundational convictions do I live by? 5. Who or what is the guiding and determining force in my life? 6. Am I affecting the world or is it affecting me?

10 2 Cor. 3:18 -- So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord who is the Spirit makes us more and more like Him as we are Transformed into His glorious image.

13 Phil. 3: I don t mean to say that I have already achieved these things or that I have already reached perfection. But I press on to possess that perfection for which Christ Jesus first possessed me. No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not (yet) achieved it, but I focus on this one thing:

14 Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.

15 Not Extreme Makeover Not Behavior Modification These are TEMPORARY! The transformation God desires to make in us has little to do with our exterior appearance or altered performance.

16 It will always challenge us to change radically at the very core of our conscience & character It will transform the way we think and live life It comes through the indwelling of Holy Spirit It comes through obedience to God s Word It comes through connection to God s people

17 PRIDE! What overcomes pride? Humility! I urge you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. (Rom. 12:1).

18 We are transformed as we adjust our goals and thinking to agree with the mind of Christ.

19 If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake and for the sake of the Good News, you will save it. And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? Is anything worth more than your soul?

20 1. What kinds of values do I want my appearance and lifestyle to reflect? 2. What will I prayerfully and thoughtfully determine to think about? 3. Who will I choose to listen to and emulate? 4. What are the convictions I will choose to hold to and live out? 5. Who and what will be the guiding and determining force in my life?

21 Who will be my master? Will I be conformed or transformed?
