3 1. CTS Logo A logo of our seminary corresponds to its mission. Out of Christ's love unveiled on the cross CTS prepares candidates for various forms of the public ministry according to the Scripture as the sole, supreme, unique and absolute source of the saving knowledge of God as well as in line with the Lutheran confessions as an apt exposition of main biblical doctrines. Equipping students with the theological knowledge and fostering their spiritual attitude, we carry out the great commission and shape future ministers to serve the Lutheran Church Hong Kong Synod, the Protestant community of our Territory and our society. All our courses are aimed at forming public servants of the Gospel and require the students' commitment providing that the vast majority of classes take place in the evening. The logo consists of four elements: the rod (1), the stole (2), the Book with the Greek letters Α and Ω (3), and the burning oil lamp (4). The shepherd's rod symbolises a minister as a spiritual shepherd of his flock, whereas the stole alludes to a traditional form of worship. The Book depicts the Scripture as a complete (therefore Α and Ω namely the beginning and the end) revelation of the saving knowledge of God in a propositional form. Finally, the

4 burning lamp refers to God's Word as the light for mankind (cf. Psalm 119,105: "Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path").

10 4. Description of Programmes Evangelism. CTS currently offers two programmes: Bachelor of Theology and Diploma in At CTS the academic year is divided into two semesters with a special training in the summer. In our school a semester is comprised of 15 weeks with 2h for every course (granting 3 credits) per week. A fieldwork provides 8 credits. To complete Bachelor of Theology Programme a student must earn 140 credits, whereas for Diploma in Evangelism 68 credits are sufficient. Usually, a student needs to spend 6 years to pursue Bachelor of Theology and 3 years to receive Diploma in Evangelism. As a student fulfils all requirements either for B. Th. or for Diploma, he or she is evaluated by the CTS Faculty to be certified as eligible for the public ministry within the Lutheran Church Hong Kong Synod. As far as Bachelor of Theology Programme for Overseas Students is concerned, the President of CTS decides what credits granted by the Luther Institute Southeast Asia (LISA) can be recognised by CTS in line with the general policy of the seminary. To graduate with B. Th., overseas students must acquire the same amount of credits (i. e. 140) as those who participate in Bachelor of Theology Programme designated for Hong Kong students.

11 Besides, on regular basis CTS organises the New Testament Conference in May and the Old Testament conference in October.
