2 Halloween Traditions Halloween is a tradition, you say. Why not enjoy the tradition and not make so much fuss about it? It is fun!!. Ignorance is something, isn t it? Don t you know that the Lord HATES traditions, ceremonies and rituals?? Let s first find out what the word tradition means: noun 1. the handing down from generation to generation of the same customs, beliefs, Especially by word of mouth 2. the body of customs, thought, practices, etc, belonging to particular country, people, family, or institution over a relatively long period 3. a specific custom or practice of long standing 4. a doctrine or body of doctrines regarded as having been established by Christ or the apostles though not contained in Scripture 5. a body of laws regarded as having been handed down from Moses orally and only committed to writing in the 2nd century AD 6. the beliefs and customs of Islam supplementing the Koran, esp as embodied in the Sunna 7. the act of formally transferring ownership of movable property; delivery 2

3 Let s further refine our definition: Traditions are the handing down from generation to generation a doctrine or a body of doctrines regarded as having been established by Christ or the apostles though not contained in Scripture, including the body of customs, beliefs, thought, and practices belonging to a particular country, people, family or institution over a relatively long period of time. Notice in our definition that we see the following phrase: the handing down from generation to generation a doctrine or a body of doctrines regarded as having been established by Christ or the apostles though not contained in Scripture We can already see the deception in traditions and that deception is evident because these traditions are NOT ANCHORED in SCRIPTURE. This is a prime example of building your house on shifting sand, as shown in scripture here: Matthew 7:26 - And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: As you can see, Jesus is telling His disciples that if they do NOT OBEY the Lord Jesus Christ, that person is foolish. We can find the Words of the Lord Jesus Christ throughout scripture. So if we do things that are NOT what Jesus tells us to do, then we are indeed FOOLISH, and you can see in these traditions that we will show you that many of those traditions ARE foolish. IF we are in Christ, who is our ROCK, we will not be deceived, but if we make up things that are NOT in scripture, you can be deceived into thinking that what you are doing is of God when it is not. We are to always consult with HIM about everything we do, as this will keep us and not send us to an eternity without Him. 3

4 And it gets worse. Christians are ignorantly following the world s dictates We have so-called Christians trying to co-exist with the devil by trying to make Halloween a little more palatable for everyone. Instead of confronting the evil and driving it out, these people that we will show in a moment are making excuses for the devil, not realizing that the devil is laughing himself silly because of these deluded Christians. I submit to you that if YOU are doing any of these things that we will highlight, you are NOT a Christian at all; you are a churchgoer. A TRUE follower of the Lord Jesus Christ would NEVER do any of these things. You are trying to co-exist with the devil, and Jesus commands us to resist the devil and he will flee from you. Coexist -ing with the devil is a new age philosophy that wants you to accept the devil s dictates and then learn to live with him. What this doctrine does NOT tell you is that many people are already bund and subjugated by the devil, so why on earth would we trade our freedom in Christ to live with the devil? You have to understand that the devil is evil, but he is also lazy. He will trick you into giving up your birthright in Christ so he doesn t have to do anything. You would have willingly given yourself to the devil when the Lord Jesus Christ tells us to RESIST the devil. So, which command are you going to carry out, Christian? 4

5 The Spirit of the Lord is telling you, Christian, to STOP with the traditions and rituals of halloween. The Lord absolutely DETESTS halloween, as this is one of the devil s highest holy days. NO Christian or follower of Christ would ever forsake their salvation by following this trash. The devil is deceiving you into throwing away your salvation with Jesus in exchange for a little fun. This was the biggest problem that the Lord of Hosts had with the Israelites and the Children of Israel. They were constantly wanting to have fun at the most inopportune times. You saw this when Moses came back from the mount with the 10 commandments and the people made idols for themselves and were dancing around, as you can see in scripture here: Exodus 32:19 - And it came to pass, as soon as he came nigh unto the camp, that he saw the calf, and the dancing: and Moses' anger waxed hot, and he cast the tables out of his hands, and brake them beneath the mount. As you can see, the Children of Israel wanted to have fun, and if you look closely, fun is the entry point for the devil to bind and enslave the people. Does the Lord NOT want people to have fun? To say that He doesn t would be disingenuous; however, the Lord does want His people to rest and be satisfied in Him. In other words, we should have the joy and peace that the Lord Jesus Christ gives His disciples as they exist IN Him. Traditions are a means to pull worship and attention away from the Lord when the Lord wants His people to be IN Him at all times. Rituals and rites that are a part of traditions are a testament to what the Lord HATES. 5

6 Christians, if you are serious about being a disciple of Christ, turn away from this abomination and tell the Lord Jesus Christ you are sorry. Repent and be cleansed of this abomination. Do NOT let your children dress up, or they will be cursed too. Renounce what you have done, and ask Jesus to help you close the open doors to the devil that the devil will use to make your life a living hell. Christian, you have been told. 6

7 Here is Our Challenge to all of you: We challenge you to go to Jesus directly RIGHT NOW and ask Him if what is shown here is true. Use this as a means to start a conversation with The Lord Jesus Christ and sit with Him and ask Him questions. Start with (asking out loud): Jesus, is what I just read true? He will answer you, Christian; use this as an opportunity to start the conversation with the Lord Jesus Christ. Keep talking with Him. Get to know Him and He will start to reveal Himself to you. You need to find out for yourself if what you support or believe is true, and what better way to find out than to ask the Lord Himself? You need to find out for yourself and work out YOUR salvation for YOU, as the scriptures tell us to. 7
