1 A BETTER PLACE TO LEARN GOD S GRACE 019 STEWARDSHIP APPEAL When or yoth program is strong, it feeds all other facets of chrch life as parents become more involved and as or children grow into confirmation stdents, fll-fledged members, and finally adlts who are active and engaged in ELC chrch life. The health and longevity of a chrch often lies in or children s faith growth and throgh the extension to their families. As chrch membership progressively ages, we at Evergreen Ltheran Chrch are always eager to welcome new families and encorage them to take on leadership roles within or congregation. When yong people, coples, or families visit, we want their entire chrch experience to be positive from the welcoming smiles they receive, the dynamic service they are a part of, to the engaging Snday School classes they attend. Jess was very clear in the gospel of Matthew when he said, Let the little children come to me. We want to reflect that message throgh interactions with or yoth and families and in the environment we provide for learning abot God and his promise. By fnding the ministry initiative A Better Space to Learn God s Grace, we can: Improve the Snday School space by removing broken/nsable frnitre and prchasing new tables and chairs. Create a warm and welcoming gathering space to enhance or children s faith and learning environment. Redesign the children s library to make it more inviting. Prchase new art and materials for Snday School classrooms and the common area. With fnding and committed ELC volnteers, we will create A Better Space to Learn God s Grace which will help grow or congregation by encoraging the children to come, learn and live Jess teachings. We look forward to having a space that reflects or enthsiasm for welcoming children and their families. Or goal for the 019 Appeal is $3,000 to initiate several ELC ministries. Some of this increase will be sed for the initiative A Better Place to Learn God s Grace. What we crrently have is mood lighting sfficient for a candle lit dinner not a working meeting, reading notes, Bible stdy or recognizing members across the room.

This ministry initiative will provide: A brighter space condcive to meetings, Bible stdy and fellowship at any time of the day especially dring the evening hors.

Have yo ever attended an evening meeting there? If yo have, yo shold be well aware that or lighting prodces a lot of eye strain de to the poor lighting from the existing fixtres. What we crrently have is mood lighting sfficient for a candle lit dinner not a working meeting, reading notes, Bible stdy or recognizing members across the room. The initiative may reqire having an electrical contractor re-wire the Fellowship Hall to meet existing code and then installing new lighting fixtres and related items. This ministry initiative will provide: A brighter space condcive to meetings, Bible stdy and fellowship at any time of the day especially dring the evening hors. An attractive meeting space for otside grops who may want to rent or space, providing the potential for additional revene. We have completed ELC s other lighting projects, so now Let There Be Light in the Fellowship Hall! Or goal for the 019 Appeal is $3,000 to initiate several ELC ministries. Some of this increase will be sed for the Let There Be Light initiative. Each One - In One is a Ministry Initiative that will help accomplish the following: Begin to connect ELC members to one of or small grop ministries. Develop a matrix to identify where and how people are connected. Identify those who are not connected beyond worship. Identify ministry gaps to address nconnected members needs. Identify and train lay leaders for new ministries. Contine to strengthen and train leaders for existing ministries. or relationships to one another in commnity and in service to the world. The world is constantly changing and as a reslt the chrch is growing and changing to meet those needs.
