Make sure they have the acronym and expiration date still intact! Happy Father s Day! God our Father, we give you thanks and praise for fathers young and old. We pray: for young fathers, newly embracing their vocation; May they find courage and perseverance to balance work, family and faith in joy and sacrifice. for men who are about to become fathers that they may openly delight in their children. for fathers around the world whose children are lost or suffering; May they know that the God of compassion walks with them in their sorrow. for those fathers who, despite divorce, have remained in their children's lives. for those fathers whose children are adopted, and whose love and support has offered healing. for those fathers who, as stepfathers, freely choose the obligation of fatherhood and earn their stepchildren's love and respect. for those fathers who have lost a child to death, and continue to hold the child in their heart. for men who are not fathers but still mentor and guide us with fatherly love and advice. We remember fathers, grandfathers, and great grandfathers who are no longer with us but who live forever in our memory and nourish us with their love. Amen Do you feel something missing in your life? Red Cross Blood Drive The American Red Cross will be holding a blood drive on Thursday, July 12th from 12pm to 5pm at OLMM. We ll be working together to give back to the community in a truly life changing way, since each donation we collect can save up to three lives. There are many ways you can help, but most importantly we hope you come out to donate! Registration forms are available online at fl3wyi and at the entrances of the church! VBS will run from August 6th through August 10th from 9-12 each day except for Friday which is extended to include a potluck lunch. This is always a fun week for all! Space is limited, so sign up soon! God sent his only Son into the world so that we might have life through him. ~1 John 4:9 Because supplies need to be purchased for each child and groups need to be formed ahead of time; PLEASE: NO WALK-INS THE DAY OF! Please register by July 31st, thank you! St. Vincent depaul would like to give a special thanks to local business's that have been very generous in there donations of food. These include Hannaford, Shaws and Walmart. These donations of meat, produce and bakery items help us fullfill our clients needs and minimize our operational expenses. Cost is $50 per child, $80 for 2 children, with a max of $100 per family. If you have financial difficulties, please let me know, no child will be turned away because of funds. Children from 4yrs. old in Pre-K (must be potty trained), through those entering Grade 5 in the fall of 2018 can participate. We hope to see many of your smiling faces! God bless! If you are entering grades 3-12 in the fall, have received your 1 st Eucharist, are a part of the OLMM/St. Elizabeth parish family and feel called to serve the Lord through this ministry; please contact us at simpastato@olmmparish.org by June 20 th so that we will know whom to expect for the training. The preparation to become a server will take two sessions; the first on June 24th from 12:30-1:30 and the second on July 8 th from 12:30-1:30. Your child will need to attend both sessions. Praying the Rosary Like Never Before Dr. Edward Sri is a nationally sought Catholic speaker who appears regularly on EWTN, and is a founding leader of FOCUS (Fellowship of Catholic University Students). In this discussion of his book "The New Rosary in Scripture: Biblical Insights on Praying the Twenty Mysteries" (Servant Books), Dr. Sri shares John Paul II's practical strategies for praying the Rosary better, so that you can encounter Jesus more deeply in prayer.
