2 A Word from the PBA Director of Missions It s the most special time of year for me personally because it was during the Easter Season in 1970 when by God s grace, my eyes were opened to believe in the risen Christ. During this season of the year we celebrate the finality the once-for-allness of the saving work of Jesus on the cross and in His bodily resurrection. Hebrews 10:12 says, When Christ had offered FOR ALL TIME a single sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God.". When Jesus cried it is finished, the debt was paid, our sins were covered, the wrath was removed and Satan was mortally wounded. During Holy Week we emphasize the glorious once-for-allness of Jesus saving work proved by His bodily resurrection. Yet in another sense, it was only the beginning of Jesus' Work. In Acts 1:1-3, Luke says, In the first book, O Theophilus, I have dealt with all that Jesus began to do and teach, until the day when he was taken up, after he had given commands through the Holy Spirit to the apostles whom he had chosen. He presented himself alive to them after his suffering by many proofs, appearing to them during forty days and speaking about the kingdom of God. Luke says that the story he told in his gospel, ending with the resurrection and ascension of Jesus into heaven, was the beginning of the loving deeds and authoritative teaching ministry of Jesus. It was only the beginning of His doing and His teaching. The clear implication is that NOW now that Jesus is seated at the right hand of the Father He is NOT finished. He is not done with His work and with His teaching. He is not dead and He is not absent. He is alive and He is present. Our Resurrected Lord is still doing and He is still teaching through the instrument of His church. There is an unfinished task ahead of us the task of proclaiming the good news to all people now in this age until the time appointed by the Father for the consummation of all things. That is why we network together on mission as an association of churches, and that is what this age is all about for us the acts of the risen, living, enthroned Lord Jesus continuing to do and teach through us. What a privilege to be instruments through which the story of Jesus continues to be told. I pray for our association of churches that our Risen Lord keeps on building His church this Easter Season just like He said He would do. By His Grace, Keith

2014 Health Kits Each year Maryland/Delaware Baptists provide health kits to be used in a variety of ministries. In 2013, we received over 1,450 health kits, from 30 churches in 10 associations!

7 2014 Health Kits Each year Maryland/Delaware Baptists provide health kits to be used in a variety of ministries. In 2013, we received over 1,450 health kits, from 30 churches in 10 associations! BCM/D Health Kits were used by the Port Ministry and the International Student Ministry in Ocean City, along with churches that used the kits to minister to those in need Health Kit contents: Include in a two gallon zip-lock bag (whatever size the items will fit into is fine) or a 14 x 12 drawstring, cloth bag, the following items: A large bath towel, large comb (no rat tail combs), wash cloth, shampoo (full size), toothbrush (adult), soap (full size bar), toothpaste (large) and deodorant. PLEASE PUT ONLY REQUESTED ITEMS IN THE BAGS. Instructions: Place the kits in boxes for easy storage. Mark the box with its contents and number of bags (whether cloth or plastic bags, and the name of the church and association). Kits are to be brought to: Extra Space Storage, Old Columbia Road, Columbia, MD ( ). Go to the office and request the folder for Woman s Missionary Union. Complete the form in the folder. Use the key to unlock the storage unit. Return the key to the office FROM MAY 1 THROUGH MAY 23, 2014 (THIS IS THE ONLY MONTH FOR STORAGE PLEASE DO NOT BRING KITS TO THE STORAGE FACILITY AFTER FRIDAY, MAY 23.) MONDAY FRIDAY, 9:30am TO 6pm; SATURDAY, 9am TO 5:30pm. CLOSED ON SUNDAY Distribution of kits will be the last week of May.
