SEPTEMBER 17, 2017
WELCOME Westminster Presbyterian Church is a covenant family of believers called by God to fulfill His purposes here in Laurel, and as a staging ground for worldwide kingdom growth where we seek to live out the Gospel of Jesus Christ to fill the earth with disciples, subdue it redemptively for God s glory, and worship Him joyfully. We are being redeemed and equipped by the Spirit to build up one another until the Lord returns.
ORDER FOR THE CELEBRATION OF PUBLIC WORSHIP AND HOLY COMMUNION SEPTEMBER 17, 2017 WELCOME AND ANNOUNCEMENTS * Congregation Standing PREPARATION FOR WORSHIP Lisa Badley Take My Life and Let it Be RESPONSIVE CALL TO WORSHIP* There is none like You, O Lord, nor are there any works like Yours. All the nations You have made shall come and bow down before You, O Lord, and shall glorify Your name. For You are great and do wondrous things, You alone are God. -Psalm 86:8-10 INVOCATION HYMN OF PRAISE* Immortal, Invisible
IMMORTAL, INVISIBLE
PROFESSION OF OUR CHURCH S FAITH* God was pleased, in His eternal purpose, to choose and ordain the Lord Jesus, His only begotten Son, to be the mediator between God and human beings. As the mediator, He is the prophet, priest, and king, the head and Savior of the church, the heir of all things, and the judge of the world. God gave to Him, from all eternity, a people to be His seed and to be by Him, in time, redeemed, called, justified, sanctified, and glorified. The Lord Jesus, by His perfect obedience and sacrifice of Himself, which He through the eternal Spirit once offered up to Godhas fully satisfied the justice of His Father. He purchased not only reconciliation but also an everlasting inheritance in the kingdom of heaven for all those whom the Father has given to Him. -from Westminster Confession (MESV), Chap. VIII, Sec. 1,5 OLD TESTAMENT READING Mr. John Carter Psalm 135:15-21 INTERCESSORY PRAYER HYMN OF GRATITUDE* Glory to Our Great Redeemer GIVING OF TITHES AND OFFERINGS

Mike Allen CORPORATE CONFESSION OF SIN O Father whose tender mercies are over all Your works, we humbly ask Your forgiveness for the sins of this past week: for every weak and defiling thought to which our minds have given harbor; for every harsh and critical word spoken in haste and passion; for every failure of self-control; for every stumbling block which by deed or example we have set in another s way; for every opportunity lost to do good; and for every blessing thanklessly received. May Your Holy Spirit so rule our hearts that You give us victory through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen. (Hear now our silent and individual prayers of confession)
ASSURANCE OF PARDON AND THE LORD S PRAYER Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. AMEN. ANTHEM Choir Crown of Thorns HOLY COMMUNION Minister: The peace of the Lord be with you! People: And also with you!
